Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I work for a large government organisation and cannot upgrade as v 3.0 has not been whitelisted just yet. However, I cannot see anything like it listed as a bug that was fixed in ArcGIS Pro 3.0 Issues Addressed (esri.com).. I think I found the bug listing: https://support.esri.com/en/bugs/nimbus/QlVHLTAwMDEzMzY5Mw== but it appears that it's not yet fixed, at least according to esri. And the bug number is not referenced in the above link. As for your suggested workaround, our main work is maintenance of basemaps for our area of jurisdiction which is an area of over 1.8 million km², so buffering of over 800+ layers is unfortunately not feasible. Thanks for your help anyway.

We generate feature outline masks for cartography purposes, but since switching much of our operation from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro have noticed the Feature Outline Masks tool doesn't work fully when trying to carry across attributes from the annotation to the new mask polygons. The polygons create fine, but when the problems occurs when the Transfer Attributes parameter is set to "All attributes" or "All attributes except the FID field". Most of the attributes are not coming across. Have seen this raised elsewhere with no response. Feature Outline Mask - Esri Community Feature outline masks not saving content - Esri Community It probably needs to be addressed. Running v2.9.3 w Advanced license.

Bumping this one, as I'm having the exact same problem. I want to use the overlay blend mode to combine a hillshade, hypsometric tint DEM and vegetation rasters, then place my vector layers such as roads, rivers, etc to make a map. Anyone have a fix for this?

I actually haven't written it yet - I got caught by the first expression/result couplet which is the most complicated. So I can't really post that yet. We are trying to stick with Arcade as our language where possible. The reason of trying to move away from seprate label classes defined by SQL is that I'm preparing a vector tile basemap that my organisation will then leverage to turn into different flavours using the vector tile editor or editing the JSON. The idea is to minimise the number of layers that need to be re-symbolised by combining what would've been several label classes into one. These label classes have the same symbology but have a different output string depending on their operational status. So an active railway line would be labelled "Main Line", but an abandoned line would be labelled "Silver Spur Branch (Abandoned)" , a dismantled line "Brisbane Valley Line (dismantled)" and so on. But we don't need label classes in the vector tile package for each of them. ...If that makes sense...

Trying to simplify the number of label classes . So I'm trying to set the expressions used in the When logical function by replicating the SQL Quaries previously used to distinguish between label classes. But I'm struggling to replicate this one FEATURETYPE = 'Railway' And STATUS = 'Operational' And OWNER NOT IN ('Private', 'Aurizon') AND ROUTENAME NOT LIKE '%System' AND ROUTENAME NOT LIKE '%Yard' AND ROUTENAME NOT LIKE '%Siding' I know wildcards are a bit tricky in Arcade which is where I'm getting stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

OK, clearly I wasn't awake! I had a SQL limiting which records were being returned. Rookie error. Thanks for your help!

Thanks @jcarlson but that's yielding the exact same result. I'm still missing labels for records with the Null value

Trying to label this feature class on it's Name field. If the Name field is Null then I want to place custom text. This is what I have: var name = $feature.name IIf(IsEmpty(name) == False, name, 'landing ground') But it only seems to label the True part of the statement and not the False, so I see the name, but not the text "landing ground" (image 2). This seems really basic stuff, so can't work out why it's not working like I think it should.

OK, never mind, the above code does work. Just have to change it to get the other part now! Alternatively, if anyone has a more elegant way to do this, I'm all ears.

Asking for some help on a task I'm dealing with. I have a field (PLAN) with a string that I'd like to split into two separate text fields (PLAN_PFX & PLAN_NUM). Each entry is predictable in the sense that it will be 1-5 alphabetic characters followed by 1-6 numeric characters. Alphabetic characters are always upper-case. So what I need to do is something like... PLAN PLAN_PFX PLAN_NUM A305 A 305 BTR86542 BTR 86542 RP808112 RP 808112 WR8 WR 8 I know I'm going to need to use Regular Expression for it. I've tried a few methods just focusing on calculating for PLAN_NUM initially but I'm just fumbling around in the dark really. PLAN_NUM = regex(!PLAN!) import re def regex(text): split_list = re.split(r'[A-Z]', text) return split_list[-1] But this just returns a blank entry. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My team currently maintains a series of cached raster basemaps over our state, and I've been experimenting with generating the same effect with vector tiles. However, the generated hosted VTPK file renders differently inside ArcGIS online than it does when viewing the same layer. There are certain scales (in my case L10 and L15) where this occurs. The first image is the ArcGIS Pro project at L15. It's still a work in progress, but I'm pretty happy with it so far. The next image shows the VTPK hosted on ArcGIS Online over the same area at L15. The labelling is a little funky and not as precise or dense as the original - it stacks, overlaps and overruns where I don't really want it to, but whatever, it's early days. The final image shows the same scale and extent, but via the AGOL viewer. As you can see, barely any labels (curiously the Depot Hill label is missing from the above image). And it doesn't matter whether I'm viewing the hosted layer via a map viewer or Web App. Or Chrome, Edge or Safari. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Given the functionality seems to be there in Pro but greyed out, it may well actually be a bug. Nevertheless, I've created a request in Ideas: https://community.esri.com/ideas/17275

At present, there doesn't seem the full suite of capability in ArcGIS Pro to edit annotation feature classes. I do a lot of work (and mean A LOT) editing annotation for roads and watercourses. A great feature of ArcMap is being able to straighten one part of a multipart annotation feature. Here's how it looks in ArcMap 10.4.1: In ArcGIS Pro 2.3.3 it looks as though a lot of the menu has been brought across from ArcMap, but the functionality is not enabled. This may actually be a bug more than anything else. This idea could be considered as a addendum to this idea already raised: Bring back ArcMap style Move and Rotate tools for annotation in Pro. I know not everyone uses annotation feature classes, but for those cartographers amongst us are probably heavier users.
