A Idea Request has been submitted that asks that Survey123 enable users to record and submit audio files with surveys. However, it needs some votes to support to actually get developers working on the project. Perhaps with your students or peers, the ability to record audio and/or video and submit them with a survey would be helpful. If so, could you take a second and vote up this thread? https://community.esri.com/ideas/13637 We are working with youth in the rainforest to record bird and animal observations. The students are novices, but if they can submit audio files with their surveys about the birds they are hearing, experts can the review those files and make the necessary changes to the survey. Thanks for taking a minute to vote up the survey. Amy

Thanks Ismael for the clarification that a Standard Edition licence is needed. That is why I haven't seen the code.

Amy Potter and Della Robertson Just like with everything in ArcGIS, there seems to be more than one way to do something. I imagine that student will be using a variety of different layers from different sources (some they create others from authoritative sources). I think having them add all their content into one map could be a bit cumbersome at the end. But it is possible. They would just have to open the same map at different times, add their layers and save a bookmark or add a slide to the presentation. But this method leaves the possibility for many errors and will be more cumbersome. Another option is to have each student create their own map in their own individual account. Their final maps (or apps) can then be shared to a group that is to be for only final products. All students will have access to this group. Then from this group, you can create a Gallery in which someone can view all the maps from a single location. This isn't one map, but rather a collection of maps. From within a Group, click "Share" and create an WebApp. You can select from the Map Carousel, Maps and Apps Gallery, or Public Gallery. At the end when students are ready to present, they just click on their map and go. Hope this helps, Amy

😎 Source code available Does this mean we can still create our survey using Survey123 Connect yet publish it and use it in a Survey123 Field App that we customize? In theory it acts similar to the App Studio apps, yet still has similar functionality of Survey123 with cascading or using relevant questions? If so, this is great! How does one acquire the Source Code?

Is it possible to create a survey that enables collection and submission of audio files? We would like for users to be able to record audio while in the field using their mobile device and submit a short file with the survey. For example, we would like to collect audio files of certain bird calls. We have tried to use Image field to upload an audio file, but that did not work. Any suggestions? Thanks, Amy

I have an iPhone5s and encountered the same calibration issue. I didn't see the issue on other iPhones or Droids. Sometimes if I rolled the ball, I would be able to add a photo. Other times I had to close out of the app and then re-launch to add my field. What's interesting is that it didn't happen on every entry, only every now and then. Amy

Janice - check out this document that helps to explain a bit more about some of the differences between a Public Account, Organizational Account, and Developer Account. https://esri.app.box.com/v/agousestrategies https://esri.app.box.com/v/agousestrategies Another way to think of a Developer account is that it is a "one-person organization account." It is free to acquire and you have access to similar functionality that is possible in an full-fledged organization account. K12 has access to organization accounts through the ConnectEd program, but other non-profits or businesses must pay for Organizational accounts and for credits. So if someone doesn't have access to an Organization, they could create a Developer account to do analyses, create web mapping applications, etc.

I have created a survey from the web and made it public. Now I would like others in my Organization to view and analyze the survey through the Survey123 website first. Then they will go into ArcGIS map viewer to explore the data in greater detail, but I want them to to have access to the charts and graphs from the Survey123 website. I have shared the Form, Feature Layer and Feature Layer (hosted, view) in ArcGIS Online with a group that contains the individuals who I want to have the ability to analyze the results on the Survey123 website. Those individuals in the Group do not see my survey in the "surveys shared with me". Should a survey shared to the public be accessible by other members of my organization to view and analyze results in the "surveys shared with me" section? The files have been shared with a group.

I think they should all be able to create Developer accounts and then you can invite their Developer account username to the group. The Developer account acts as a one-person organization. Try adding your personal Developer account to a group that you have created in the NPS org.

Natalie, this sounds very similar to the work I have done in the past at IAGT and what I am currently dealing with now with Geoporter. Both were and are focused on conducting trainings with educators, both formal and informal. I think this is probably a special case that Charlie will be able to provide better insight into. My initial thinking is that it would seem best to have your own organizational account as you are part of the rivers research and education center. If it's not possible to have your own account that falls under the ConnectEd guidelines, then there are opportunities for non-profit organizations to acquire and organizational account and a reduced cost.

Yes Rich, an Admin can create a variety of different roles and title them how they see fit. I created a role for example for "Field Collectors". In an Org where you had administrative rights, click on My Organization, and then Edit Settings. There you will find Roles on the menu on the left. You can label your roles whatever you would like.

I wish to use Spanish as the default language for Survey123. I am fine with everything except for when I want to have the "other" option available for the "select_one" or "select_multiple" lists. The default for "other" is in English. For the purposes of the survey, I do not need an English version. Is there a way that I can specify the "other" to return in Spanish as well as the default box of "specify other"? Can I do this without having to change the default language of the XML file? Thanks, Amy
