@IsmaelChivite Unfortunately I have come up with yet another example of how the new HTML formatting is just not working. This example occurs in a choice list. Included below is an example of the old way of HTML formatting vs. the new HTML formatting. list_name name label CRW_BT_Traits Cry3Bb1 <b>Cry3Bb1</b> (includes VT TriplePRO, VT3P RIB Complete, Yieldgard Rootworm or Yieldgard VT Triple) CRW_BT_Traits Cry34_35Ab1 <div style="font-weight:bold">Cry34/35Ab1</div> (includes AcreMax CRW, AcreMax1, AcreMax Xtra, Herculex RW, Herculex Xtra, or Intrasect Xtra) CRW_BT_Traits Cry3Bb1+Cry34_35Ab1 <div style="font-weight:bold">Cry3Bb1+ Cry34/35Ab1</div> (includes SmartStax, STX Refuge Advanced, SmartStax RIB Complete, or SmartStax Enlist) You can see the difference right away as to what HTML formatting is working and which is not. Survey123 Connect What makes this issue interesting is for some reason it actually works in the webform... sort of. It still adds a phantom <br> for no apparent reason. This is also still very much an issue. Also, the webform actually respects both versions of HTML formatting. So you can use the old HTML formatting in some parts of the Survey123 webfrom but not others? Where is the consistency here? I'm even more confused now than I was before. Webform As always, I would really appreciate it if someone could clarify what I am seeing and potentially help me solve this. Thank you for any and all assistance. ~Dan

@IsmaelChivite I found out recently that the webforms no longer recognize my HTML coding and that it has been updated or "modernized" to use <div style...> tags. I was surprised by this since this was not on my radar as a thing I had to worry about. I tried to follow the Tricks and Trade Blog article on this topic and had varying success. Survey123 Tricks of the Trade: Quick guide to modernize HTML formatting tags in your survey (esri.com) One of the biggest issues that I have run into is that the HTML formatting, which was outlined in the blog post, seems to work and displays what I expect in Survey123 Connect but when I view my published survey in the webform, it's a different story and does not give me what I want or what I see in Survey123 Connect. For example, I tried to make the first word in a text string (this is a note question) <div style="font-weight:bold">Note:</div> Assess 10 plants (3 plants in 3 areas plus 1 additional plant in one of these 3 areas; Distance these 3 areas equally apart, relative to the size of field/plot; a minimum of 20 m apart). Avoid assessing plants within 10 m of fields’ edge. Survey123 Connect Webform Now I will be the first to admit that I am new to <div> tags so I may be doing this completely wrong but if I am why does it give me what I want in Connect but not the webform Also, why is the exact same code adding in a <br> for no reason? Another issue that I ran into is group labels also do not recognize the new HTML formatting in the webform. begin group ContactInfo <div style="text-align: center">Caller Contact Information</div> Survey123 Connect Webform Once again, the webform does not recognize this new "modernized" formatting. Is this on Esri's radar and will this be fixed at some point? It's incredible difficult to develop and publish and survey using one piece of software (Connect), which gives you no errors and the appearance that you want, to only have it look completely different in the webform. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. And I completely agree with @Amanda__Huber . it would be VERY helpful if someone could develop a ArcGIS Blog article about this for awareness and how to use this new formatting. It would also be very handy to have it as a sample template in Connect. There is one already in there that references the old formatting but not the new. Thank you for your help. ~Dan

@LiamHarrington-Missin, @abureaux I'm having the exact same issue as Liam. I followed the article exactly, to the point where I literally copied and pasted the code. <div style="text-align:center">Caller Address Information</div> It shows up as left aligned in the web form and appears to completely ignore the tag. It appears centred in the Survey123 Connect preview but as soon as I publish the changes the web form is back to the left hand side.

Hey @IsmaelChivite, This is a very helpful article. Is there a way to translate the survey details? I was able to translate the actual survey (questions and answers) but am struggling to translate the "details". When I switch to French and make changes, those changes appear in English. I'd like the details to be in French when French is selected as the language of choice but I have no idea where I can add this translation. Is this even possible? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes I do. Here's an example of a couple of my repeats. They all have them. That's correct, I stripped out the service URL.

Yes, all those related tables are in the same Feature Service and all the repeat questions use the same table names. ~Dan

I'm not entirely sure that I am doing the submission URLs properly. I originally had just the one submission URL but when I accessed the Inbox, my related records were not showing up at all. Doing it this way ensured that I saw all my related record data. As far as the error goes, I believe my issue was that I had some Choice Lists that were ridiculously long. I believe these long Choice Lists were to much when creating the Web Forms. Because I want my user to only use the Field App, I turned off the need to create a web form. Once I turned of the web form, my survey was able to publish with no more errors. If you have large Choice lists I would suggest looking at using External Selects. https://doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/desktop/create-surveys/xlsformcascadingselects.htm

Hey Phil, Has this functionality made it into production? I'm on Ver 3.12.232 If this functionality does exist in 3.12, I'm not sure how to make it work. I have my choice_filter setup but when I select multiple options, I get no choices available for the question that has the choice_filter on it. In my survey, the user has to select which units will be part of a project and then from those units selected, select the staff that will be part of the project. Thanks for assistance you may have to offer Phil. ~Dan

I'm trying to publish a survey that was created from an existing feature service. I keep getting an error stating Error transferring Gateway Time-out code: 499. I'm not sure what I have done wrong for this to not work. I tried publishing other "test" surveys and they all published successfully. This survey is going to be writing to an existing feature service as well as related tables. Perhaps there's an issue with how I setup those tables. The image below illustrates how I setup my feature service and related table connections. If it helps at all, I just upgraded to 3.12.232 Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help. ~Dan

Thank you Ismael for your response. I have since updated to .232 and I've already noticed faster load times for those initial loads. I'm not sure what was done but it has decreased the initial load time by more than half. With all the improvements in functionality and performance, I'm not sure what we would do without Survey123. This is great! Thank you all so much.

Hello, I recently upgraded Survey123 Connect to version 3.12.230. I've unfortunately noticed a steep drop off in performance with this new version. When I open an existing survey with this new version (3.12.230) it takes over 7.5 minutes. Once that initial open is done and out of the way it then goes back to the normal ~5 - 10 seconds to load. When editing my surveys, upon saving changes to the XLSForm it then takes over 2 minutes to reload the survey and my changes. In the past this took at the most 10 - 15 seconds. Any suggestions to help improve the performance of this latest version would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ~Dan
