Are you including the <server-name>\<instance-name> in that Instance box? Did you reboot after the uninstalls/re-installs? just ODBC client v17? BillFox_0-1647897467616.png

We followed a similar document for this on 10.7.0 to get from 2008R2 to 2012 to 2019 (Double-Hop) in 2020. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/itops-talk-blog/how-to-in-place-upgrade-windows-server-2008-r2-to-windows-server/ba-p/752330 Each hop to about 3 to 6 hours depending on the number of rounds of required Microsoft updates, reboots, network traffic, etc. Everything worked fine.

Do you have options to free up some disk space other than what you are asking about here? If disk space is already that tight even Microsoft updates will begin failing too. And as C: goes to zero for any reason you might not be able to login to the vm at all without adding some free space.

yes, I have seen problems too having extra ODBC clients installed at the same time - (ditto) remove all but latest. ArcGIS 10.9.1 and ArcGIS Pro 2.9 requirements for Microsoft SQL Server https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/system-requirements/latest/windows/database-requirements-sqlserver.htm

Yes, I have seen that type of strange behavior before when having multiple editors reconciling & posting to the same parent version. The way out is for you to create a separate public "Posting Version" for each editor. Example: 1) DEFAULT (Protected) > Post_WalterQ (Public) (created and owned by an account you control) > WalterQ (Private, the user creates off of their assigned "Posting Version". 2) DEFAULT (Protected) > Post_TommyV (Public) (created and owned by an account you control) > TommyV (Private, the user creates off of their assigned "Posting Version". 3) DEFAULT (Protected) > Post_FrankQ (Public) (created and owned by an account you control) > FrankQ (Private, the user creates off of their assigned "Posting Version". This isolates each editor from hitting a single parent posting version and making it dizzy. Then you have a Windows scheduled task that runs the reconcile and post tool from all the "Posting" versions to DEFAULT. (A note about the "Typical" weekly routine) We have that scheduled task set to run each 30 minutes throughout the day. The editors are responsible for their edits, quality control, etc. So, as soon as they are comfortable reconciling & posting to their assigned posting version the next run of that task puts the changes into DEFAULT for all to see and use. We have a weekly maintenance window on Thursdays at 16:00 - 18:00 when we can do a state zero and other chores. The editors know they are free to work in their private editing versions during the week but must reconcile and post before Thursday at 16:00 or loose their work when all the versions are deleted and recreated during maintenance (a few other simple python scripts). Friday mornings the editors create their private editing version off their posting version and around we go again for the next week.

We are preparing for some in-place upgrades from Windows Server 2016/2019 Datacenter to 2022 Datacenter. Do you have production ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 running on Windows Server 2022 Datacenter? Any issues we should be aware of?

It sounds like versioning is getting dizzy and needs to be better isolated I think you will need to make DEFAULT "Protected" Then create "Public Posting" versions for each editor Then each editor create their "Private" editing versions

pick this up at And Now a Word From Monty Python https://community.esri.com/t5/state-local-government-questions/what-three-words-global-addressing-system/td-p/328040 Reference: That brings me back to Dr Mike from DuaneMarble's post above. And Now a Word From Monty Python Consider the fictional scenario presented below. I thought about scrapping the blog above and using this skit instead, but decided it might be better to discuss some of the issues with w3w in more depth. However, the scenario below is a pretty good summary. It was a cold and dreary night. I had no idea where I was, so I called Rescue Services. The operator asked, “What Three Words. Please?” I replied, “I Am Lost.” “No,” was the reply. “We couldn’t find any results for ‘I.AM.LOST’.” I retorted, “But, I.AM.LOST.” “No, sir. We require three words, not four words.” I replied, “MY.CHOICES.ARE?” “No, we did not get any result for those three words” I responded, “HELP.ME.OUT?” “Sir, you need to use a three word combination that contains three words from the forty-thousand or so recognized by what3words.” “OK” I replied. “WHICH.THREE.WORDS? “No,” was the response followed by, “And, that’s WHAT3WORDS. Although if you choose to use French or Portuguese the dictionary is only twenty-five thousand words because they do not cover the oceans and seas. Are you asea?” “No, but how do I get the correct what three words that locate my position?” “Use a What3Words App to identify your location on a map and it will return the three words defining that position.” “But if I gave you my What3Words, what would you do with them?” “Convert them to lat/lon and run a route to you.” I was incredulous – “WHY.DO.THAT? You can read my lat/lon directly from the GPS chip in my phone and you can JUST.FIND.ME!”
