Jason is correct, perhaps I was stuck on the fact that forms will only be created for related tables that are present in the MXD. http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcpad/10.0/help/index.html#/Get_Data_for_ArcPad/00s100000068000000/. Denise

SC, Unfortunately there is not a method to hide the GPS Status Panel so it doesn't auto display when opening an ArcPad project. I suggest you submit this on ArcGIS Ideas site so that i t can be discussed, voted on for implementing in future ArcPad release. Cheers, Denise

Hi Jay, Yes, if you are running Windows XP then you would be using ActiveSync to connect your desktop PC to mobile PC but if using Windows Vista or Windows 7 you would be using Windows Mobile Device Center for synchronization process. Denise

Hi Jay, You might be encountering known issue NIM061249; Downloading projects that are created using ArcGIS 10 Desktop from ArcGIS.com result in Mobile Cache error. The suggested workaround is to request contents of mobile cache folder from creator of mobile project and copy the information to C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\ESRI\ArcGIS Mobile\<Mobile Project Name>\MobileCache. Please contact Esri Support and ask that your company information be added to NIM061249 for proper tracking purposes. Thanks, Denise

Hi Brian, Please insure the GPS application is not open when attempting to connect to GPS functionality within ArcPad. What Windows Mobile OS is installed on Trimble Recon? What version of ArcPad is used, what Build? What COM port and BAUD rate settings are listed in ArcPad > GPS Preferences > GPS dialog? If you are current in ArcPad maintenance, please log a support request with Esri Support via http://support.esri.com. We now have Phone, Email, Webform, and Chat options to connect you with an ArcPad specialist who can help you troubleshoot your current challenge. Good luck, Denise

Hi Charles, Many times when only the feature class is exported and not the related tables it is because of either the relationship or the table itself. Do you have the tables listed in ArcMap TOC when exporting the data using Get Data For ArcPad tool? They must be listed in TOC to be checked out to ArcPad. If you are still experiencing problems and have current ArcPad maintenance, please log your support question with Esri Support via http://support.esri.com. We now have Phone, Email, Webform and Chat options to work with Support Analysts to help diagnose and troubleshoot your challenges. Good luck, Denise

Hi Nick, If ArcPad data collected in the field does not check in properly or if the ArcPad check-in tool is not available after starting a GPS edit session (if using GPS Analyst) or after starting a regular Edit session (if using standard ArcPad tools in ArcMap), a fake checkout of the original data has to be done in order to get the new data checked in. Use the instructions in URL provided below to perform a 'Fake' Checkout: http://support.esri.com/en/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/35524 Cheers, Denise

Make sure you do not have the camera open in any other application. Having the camera running in another application will result in similar described behavior. Once the camera application is closed, ArcPad Camera functionality should work as expected. On PCs (including tablet PCs), ArcPad includes a module for cameras which interface via the standard Windows Multimedia API (MCI), and also a module for camera which interface via Microsoft's Direct Show API. In ArcPad 10, the ArcPad Camera module was added. This module communicates with Microsoft's Direct Show API, ensuring that it will work with a greater range of cameras. This module is available for both Windows and Windows Mobile. You might be encountering known issue with ArcPad 10 when using Tablet PC, CQ00312810; Camera fails to start in ArcPad 10 when physical screen rotation is changed on tablet PC. If this above suggestion doesn't help or CQ doesn't pertain to your configuration and you are current in ArcPad maintenance, please log a support question with Esri Support Services so we can help troubleshoot and identify this issue. We now have Phone, Email, Webform, and Chat options for your convenience. Thank you, Denise

Hi, Is your data in a personal or file geodatabase? The 'Export shapefile symbology for ArcPad' will only work with shapefiles and not geodatabase feature classes. You might want to review the ArcPad Help documentation for 'Export Referenced Style(s) for ArcPad' on ArcPad Resource Center site. I have included URLs below for your convenience. ArcPad's support of ArcGIS symbology http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcpad/10.0/help/index.html#/ArcPad_s_support_of_ArcGIS_symbology/00s100000130000000/ Exporting ArcGIS Styles http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcpad/10.0/help/index.html#/Exporting_ArcGIS_styles/00s10000008w000000/ Exporting symbology for shapefiles http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcpad/10.0/help/index.html#/Exporting_symbology_for_shapefiles/00s1000000sp000000/ If you still encounter challenges after reviewing above documentation and current on ArcPad maintenance, please log a support question via Esri Support Services. We now have Phone, Email, Webform, and Chat options to get you connected with ArcPad specialist to help troubleshoot your support incident. Cheers, Denise
