1. It seems that when I set the widgets loading mode to 'float' the widget manager won't recognize the 'left | top | right | buttom ' parameters set to the widget. Am I missing something or it is a bug? #1. This is a bug. As a temporary workaround, you can use x/y instead of left/top.

Robert's suggestion is the best answer for the question, but I just wanted to mention that you can also change the name of the default configuration file from "config.xml" to whatever you want. Go to the ViewerContainer.mxml in src\com\esri\viewer\ and change this line: public static const DEFAULT_CONFIG_FILE:String = "config-mydefault.xml";

What do you think? Take the poll. We are thinking to maybe split it into - Flex Viewer (people working with configuration files) - Flex API (including people using Flash Builder to work with the source code for the viewer) This has the potential for confusion when you are a Flex developer working with the viewer source code. Is my question more of "API" or more of "Viewer"? I think the answer would usually be "API". Also, with two forums, people who are not compiling the Flex Viewer will not have to see all the "API" questions.

The download for the viewer should now be working - http://resources.arcgis.com/content/arcgis-flex-viewer-how-to-download Make sure you are signed in (or you might get the "Access Denied" message). We're working on making this work better (as it does for the API Library download), but in the meantime the workaround is to sign in.

Bjorn, Are bugs being reported here or is there some other mechanism for reporting bugs? Barely 30 minutes, and you already want to report bugs? 🙂 Bugs can be reported to ESRI Support or on the forum.

I get an error page when trying to download the flexviewer. We're aware of the problem (being able to log in to the Resource Center) and are trying to fix it.

The resource center for ArcGIS Viewer for Flex 2.0 beta is now up and running at http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapps/flexviewer/ This is a first beta version of the viewer, take it for a spin and let us know what you think. Being a beta, you'll notice that the documentation is a work-in-progress and we plan to update it regularly over the next few weeks. Also, being a beta, there will be some bugs and other issues, but we wanted you to get a feel for what we are building so that you can provide us with some feedback on the Flex Viewer as soon as possible. See also blog post at http://blogs.esri.com/Dev/blogs/arcgisserver/archive/2010/06/30/ArcGIS-Viewer-for-Flex-_2800_Beta_2900_-now-available.aspx Some links might take another 5-10 minutes before they are working, so be patient. Have fun!

At version 2.0 of the Flex API, there is no built-in support for snapping. However, it is something that we are looking at for a future release.

Liking the new Logo! But can I move it? The Y position is slightly greater than before and doesn't quite fit my layout. It looks too nice to disable 😉 Sorry, no moving the logo around. It's located slightly to the left to make space for the minimized overview map widget of the upcoming Flex Viewer 2.0 🙂

The ArcGIS API for Flex does not have built-in support for Google map tiles. This is because Google does not allow direct access to their map tiles - see for example http://code.google.com/p/gmaps-api-i...detail?id=1396 "Legally permit direct access to the tiles"
