Select to connect to the Workflow Manager System tables as a specific user name or connect using individual logins. If you choose the Always connect with the following database login option, enter a user name and password (and the database if using SQL Server) that has access to all the Workflow Manager system tables. If you choose the Operating System Authentication option, ensure that all users accessing the database have access to all the Workflow Manager system tables. If you choose the Each WMX User will connect with their own database loginoption, you will need to add connection properties for each user. I am having issues establishing database connections to the workspace for users other than sde. What level of access do the users need to all of the tables. Is granting this access possible in ArcCatalog using the ChangePriviliges tool or do I have to do this in PostGRS?

So what I did was create a new enterprise geodatabase using the sde schema; then that connection file is used in the Create Workflow Manager workspace. In PostGRS I created a login named 'wmx'. In ArcMap I set the workspace to the database connection and for each table I use the ChangePrivileges tool to grant view and edit access for the 'wmx' user. In workflow administrator each user will connect to the database using the wmx user. This seems to follow the online resource guide. If I encounter any more issues related to the schema error I will post them here.

Hello all, We are having this same issue running Workflow Manager 10.4.1 on PostGRES. Is there a solution that is agreed upon for this thread? Could this issue be caused by multiple people using the sde schema to connect to the database with the .jtc file. Should I create a wmx user that we all use to connect to the workspace? Or should I create separate database users for each workflow manager user?

Hi Mohamed, What I've determined is that the OpenArcMap step is in the desktop step library so it is not accessible to the server version of Workflow Manager. Workflow Manager custom steps—Help | ArcGIS Desktop What we are looking at doing is synchronizing from the cloud to an on-premise workspace using the replication methods available with the workflow manager service.

I am trying to execute my workflow through the server application, but it will not go to the next step of 'Open ArcMap'. In the web dev console I am receiving a message saying 'Unable to run step: Open ArcMap, runnableStatus = 8'. My server is 10.4.1 and my ArcMap is 10.4.1. Is the application trying to open ArcMap using the default pathname to the ArcMap.exe? Is it possible to open ArcMap from the server application through a step? Pleeeeeese help.

We have a need to implement workflow manager without a direct connection to the workspace by a desktop client. The workspace will be stored in the cloud. Does the server application and api provide enough functionality so that desktop users can operate the workflow using the server application?

I thought it appropriate for the ArcGIS Online Developers forum because it is a developer question related to publishing layers to AGOL and using them in a web map. I've worked around the issue by making a second request for each layer in the web map and getting its parent layer container info. The description that I created when publishing the layer is on that item after it is published. Do you develop with AGOL, does this question make sense to you?

As a progression on this topic, I've reviewed the Export Web Map Task Specification for the web map json and see that each of the operational layers should have a short-lived token assigned to the token property of the layer. Today I am going to try and create a short lived token with AGOL and add it to the operational layer in the web map json before submitting it to the mapping.export_map() method.

I am writing a print service for client that does not have ArcServer because they are small and are using only ArcGIS Online as their mapping platform. Since I cannot use the ArcServer print services, I've utilized the python api in a django app to generate the map print and return the document to browser. It works well in web app builder, but when I download the app to IIS and hook it up with the proxy, the Export Map Task returns errors that it is unable to create layers. The error is basically identical to the issue when using the Print Service in the jsapi on a web map running through the proxy. Is the proxy still going to cause an issue with creating the print even though the python api is using the GIS object with credentials to run the Export Map Task? My other option is to use ArcPro python library and export the map, but will the proxy still cause issues? If so, what can I do? Our client really needs to print and we want their organization to fall in love with esri. Thanks, Rich

WAB Dev Edition v2.2. I've begun setting up v2.3 but will need to recreate the apps because I was not able to download the apps from the builder since the cards did not appear. I did zip the folder for each app, but am unable to import it into the new builder which is something I would like to figure out as well. It looks to me like the builder app is using mongodb. Have you tried connecting to the database and inspecting it for issues? When the builder app loads, it runs a query against the database using the user_name and portalUrl. The query is returning an empty list. When I look at the apps file there are multiple apps shown, some even duplicate apps but with different last_updated values. When the app cards disappear what can we do to get them back?, then why did they disappear?

When WAB opens and I sign in, my app cards are not visible anymore. The request to the database with my username and portalUrl is not returning any entries. However, I can still access the apps with the url followed by the app id. How can I repair the backend database so that it will return my apps in the WAB content page. Has anyone else experienced this and began working with the backend db of Web App Builder to repair?

I am creating a widget to support grouping layers in my app (I know that it is not supported, but I need it), and have decided to populate the description of the web layer with the group layer name when publishing from ArcPro. My widget will read the descriptions from each of the layers in the web map and do it's thing. The issue is that the description being set on the hosted web layer is not being set on the feature service within the hosted layer. The description of the feature service always ends up being the same as the name of the service. What's the point of having a description property if it is always going to equal the name of the service. That is redundant info. It seems to me that this could be a bug. Any ideas on how to set the description of a feature service within a hosted feature layer during the publishing process?

Hello, I have a simple data viewer app in WAB in AGOL v2.3 and my developer edition is v2.2. According to the documentation I cannot import an app from a new version of Web App Builder. Does anyone have a solution for this? Currently I get an error stating 'Failed to Upgrade the App. See the log for details." The log does not contain useful info.
