Thanks Paul, your first hint matches the work around I managed to sort out. Instead of adding the layer to the map, I had to add layer from web and put in the service's REST URL (and down to the layer /0). Our Portal is also an HTTPS only, and I guess (I couldn't find a way to confirm) it was trying to add the layer over an HTTP URL? It's the only explanation I can think of at this point...

Hey all, I have a Portal install (10.3), federated, with a hosting server. Everything seems to be working great. I created 2 hosted feature services using shapefiles that I uploaded (hosted feature services were created during the shapefile upload process). I then went in and edited the hosted feature services to turn on editing and tracking capabilities and saved them - all OK so far. My issue stems now when I try to add the 2 hosted feature layers to my Web Map. I search for layers, find them and click "Add" (doesn't matter which one I try), they both return "The layer, "xxxxx", cannot be added to the map." in a popup window. The "Add" link in the layers list then changes to a greyed-out "unavailable" text. I can refresh the map page and the "Add" link comes back, but still no luck. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong here? My thanks!

Sorry Toni, you are correct in that you still have to deal with the noData in some way as to not taint your calculations - I thought you were just wondering if you could modify the noData. You could probably use an array mask on your numpy array to exclude the values you don't want to include. More info on how to do this here The numpy.ma module — NumPy v1.9 Manual Cheers, Todd

Hi Toni, The arcpy.RasterToNumPyArray tool has a parameter called 'nodata_to_value'. This parameter allows you to set a value to assign to your input raster's nodata. The default value is "None," which is probably what's messing up your calculations. Tool help - ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2) Cheers, Todd

Hi Antti, It seems like this may be an ongoing issue (see Export Map to PDF Halo Labels shifts Halo to latter width at the end of Label Problem but there are a couple of things there that you can try. Hope this helps! Todd

Hi Segundo, Unfortunately, there is no information provided here that will help anyone with answering your problem. Please try to be more specific in what you are looking to achieve (what you are building, purpose, where you are stuck, examples of code, etc). Thanks, Todd

Thanks Rickey, I wasn't aware that the order of the function parameters had to match the requires. I moved it around and they're showing up now. Thanks!

Morning all - I'm slowly losing my mind! I've started a webpage so that I can play around with the Javascript API and Flickr. I've copied and pasted the ESRI sample for this, found here Feature collection | ArcGIS API for JavaScript , and it runs great if I run it as is, on my own web server. My issues come when I try to design a new page around it. I haven't changed any of the code for the feature collection itself, just some of the map constructor, CSS and content, and added a location search widget. When I try and run my new page (with Chrome debugger) the map loads fine, the search works great, but the Flickr features don't show up. The debugger spits out an error when it gets to the RequestSucceded() function, telling me that "TypeError: array.forEach is not a function." From my research, it appears I'm not giving a proper array to the function to play with - I just don't see how I'm passing anything different to the function than what the source code originally passes... anyone have any ideas on this? Source code for both included (index.html is my page that doesn't work, index3.html is the ESRI sourcecode).

Hey John, You'll have to setup a token (ArcGIS or OAuth), use network credentials or use certificates. More info on how to use these processes and their returns is found at: Security—ArcGIS Runtime SDK for .NET | ArcGIS for Developers Cheers, Todd

Yea, now that I understand your issue a little better, you're not able to zoom in further because your basemaps have reached their maximum allowed zoom level. There is no way to change this as they are pre-generated cached tiles created and supplied by ESRI. If you create your own image service and use it as a background, you can then use the dynamic layer, or cache it using your own zoom levels. This is a conversation from earlier about the same issue, for further reading if you're interested. Is there a way to change the zoom levels. so that one can zoom in beyond 60ft/20m Cheers!

From reading your last statement, then yes - going over to Python will make this infinitely easier for you, if you are familiar with it. Setting up variables and iteration is so much easier in that environment, especially if you want to automate your calculation expression based on field names. The string manipulation features will help immensely. Good luck to you!

Hi Daniel, If the layer in ArcMap was set up with a min/max extent (viewable scale levels), which is standard good practice for the most part, then yes - those settings will be incorporated into the published webmap layer as well. If you go into ArcMap and clear the settings (or better yet, adjust them), then you should be able to zoom in closer.

Hi Cole, The "Get Field Value (Model Builder)" tool might help you out in this case. Its purpose is to select a value from a chosen field, in the first line of a table. Its specifically meant for something like this where your resulting table from Summary Statistics only creates one entry. Use four of them to grab the values you need for your expression. Here's the help file for the tool: ArcGIS Help 10.1 See if that helps! Cheers, Todd

Hi Jamal, This is a security setting included by default with ArcGIS Pro. I would assume this is to mitigate unauthorized access to the root folder of your system. From the help page: ArcGIS Pro does not support adding folder connections to the project that access the root node of any disk, for example, C:\ or D:\ Connect to a folder—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS for Professionals Cheers, Todd

Hi Johannes, The answer is: whatever setting you used when you set up editor tracking. You have the option of using the database's time zone, or using UTC across the board. ESRI recommends that if you have user's making edits from different time zones, using UTC is the best option as it enforces one time standard for all edits. From online help: Specifying how times are recorded When you enable editor tracking on a dataset, you can record the dates of the edits in either UTC or the database's time zone. If you'll be copying or replicating data across time zones, or if you're planning on editing through a feature service, use UTC, a standard that is unaffected by differences in time zones. Since editors can apply edits from potentially anywhere in the world, UTC works well. Recording in the database's time zone is recommended only if you are certain all edits will be performed within the same time zone. ArcGIS Help 10.1 Cheers! Todd
