Thanks Jessica Also if possible you could let us know which web browser (name and version number would be good) are you viewing the Cascade with and which operating system you are on. If you have tried it on a different web browser, does it work OK? Rupert

HI Jessica Could you share the URL to that story you took the screenshot of so we can test it out? Your screenshot shows the cover page of a Cascade app., When the cover page is display and the user starts scrolling down, they'll see the top of the first section in the Cascade that comes after the cover page. Is that the transition you mean? Rupert

Hi Sarah, Sorry about this limitation of the Story Map Swipe/Spyglass app. We have this enhancement logged as something we need to implement, and we've made a note that it came up in your Geonet post. Rupert

Hi Ralf If you aren't seeing the Story Map Shortlist (beta) app in your configurable apps gallery, like in the screenshot above that Adrian Welsh kindly shared, then I think one of the following is the case: - You may be using Portal for ArcGIS (the on-premises large enterprise version of ArcGIS Online. The beta Story Map apps (Shortlist, Cascade and Crowdsource) are not available in Portal for ArcGIS yet but will be once they are out of beta next year (expected before the User Conference in July) - You may be using an ArcGIS Online Organization in which the configurable application gallery has been customized. Organization administrators can customize which apps appear in the gallery. If this is the case you could contact your ArcGIS Online administrator to request that Shortlist be added to your Organization’s configurable apps group. Hope that helps. Also after reading your question I am going to add a note into the FAQ and Shortlist tutorial on the Story Maps website that includes the two points above. So thanks for raising this as an issue. Rupert

Hi Jessica Sorry about the issue. What you are describing doesn't sound familiar to me. Could you possibly take a screenshot of what you are seeing and post it here? Also let us know which web browser you are using? Rupert

Hi Debbie, This is most likely happening because your story map is accessed via https (i.e. it's URL starts with https) but the content you are embedding is being accessed via http. If a web app such as a story map uses https, then the web browser will hide embedded web content presented in the app that is not also accessed using https. Can you embed those apps into your story map using https instead? In other words first open each one in a separate web browser tab, edit the beginning of the URL to be https if it is http, press return and see if it loads correctly, and if so, copy that URL and use that to embed the app in your story map. For more about this issue, see the Troubleshooting section of this blog post: Embedding apps and websites in Story Maps | ArcGIS Blog Rupert

Hi Cameron If you have downloaded the Shortlist code and self-hosted it, you may be able to include a Google Translate widget but I don't know the technical details of this. Here's an example I found that uses a self-hosted instance of the Story Map Series app template: The TransNet Story See the language switcher in the top right hand corner. This doesn't seem to translate the popups in the web map (although note that the Story Map Shortlist doesn't use standard popups for its place content). The more common approach we've seen in bilingual story maps is to make two different versions of the app, and provide a control to let end users switch between them. For example here's a Shortlist example Shortlist Salzburg . Click the link in the top right to switch to the German language. And in this Story Map Journal, the authors customized it to add a cover page that presents a language choice: Sarayaku: in defense of territory Here are some more examples from the Story Maps Gallery: Gallery | Story Maps Perhaps others who have multiple language requirements or experience with these approaches can share their thoughts here too. Hi David Sorry about the issue. We'll be on the look out to see if we can reproduce that. I'll mention the following because it may possibly account for what you are seeing: Remember that the tabs in the Shortlist Builder always shows you all your places (we hope!) irrespective of: a) the current extent of your web map b) whether or not they have a name c) whether or not they have a picture d) whether or not they are located on the map. However when you view your Shortlist in the viewer (i.e, as your end users will see it) you won't see: a) places that are not located in the current extent of your map (unless you are configured your Shortlist using the setting option to always show the places irrespective of the map location) b) places that don't have a name, a picture and a location on the map. We hide incomplete places in the viewer so that your in-progress places or bad places don't appear/ For example it is possible that you didn't name the place initially. Once it is given a name and you save your Shortlist again it should appear in the viewer. Rupert

Hi Felixcia When you create a Shortlist from a web map containing point data layers that it can import, it will prompt you to see if you want to import them into the Builder. Here are the situations where it won't recognise your feature service-based point layer(s): A) If the layers are not drawn in the map at the current map scale (at the time you create your Shortlist from the map) they won't be recognized. So layers that are turned off (unchecked in the Content window) are ignored. So are layers that have a scale visibility range that makes them be not drawn (dimmed in the Content window) at the current map scale. So feature-service based layers have to be drawn in your map to be considered candidates for importing. B) Sublayers of feature services aren't supported. So in your web map Content window, the layers you want to import have to be top-level entries with their own check boxes. So layers that aren't listed in your Content window unless you expand a layer entry in the Content window are not considered candidates. C) It may also be SEIGO (Something Else Is Going On). Feel free to share the URL of your web map here (if it is publicly shared and not private info you can't share) and we can take a look. Rupert

Hi Jessica Sorry about the issues in Story Map Shortlist beta 2.0 and thanks for your patience on this. We are preparing to update the Shortlist app as part of the ArcGIS Online update approx December 13th Your issue 1 and 2 are bugs we are trying to reproduce. We'll be on the look for those in case we can fix them in the upcoming release. If there are any specific steps or other info that would help us debug please feel free to post here. Your issues 3 are 4 are bugs we have fixed in the upcoming release. Rupert Essinger
