Hi again. I "hear" what you say, but i can't find out what to change or where so it will hit through. Se the screendump....it's like the old one's won't change........just like the domain can't change the old values.

Hi there I have some featureclasses with a lot of records/objects in the tables. Now we have discovered that some of the "attached" domains in the geodatabase was not correctly.....We changed/updated the domains...and if we record a new object all the new things are there, but if we want to "edit" the existing object, the new "rules" is missing??? What do we miss ?? Is there a tool, script or model to do the update automaticly ?? One example: We have collected 1000 records/objects for Fire Hydrants with type 1, 2 and 3 valves. Later on we discover the power of using Domains for NON GIS people in Field collection, so we want to upgrade the tables. We now create a Domain with 8"/10"/12" selectable valves and with a "table related value" connected to the type 1, 2 and 3. When we make a NEW record everything functions OK and the user can select 8", 10" or 12". When we want to EDIT an existing record, only the old value/function is there, so he has to know what value 1, 2 and 3 means. Anyone with a solution ???????????????????

Are you running the model from inside Modelbuilder or from ArcCatalog ? Regarding :Add to display This only works when you run the model inside modelbuilder....If you run it from ArcCatalog you have to ADD Data manually. Regarding: 'Add results of geoprocessing to display' This only works on GP tools runned from ArcToolbox and not working on a model.

The company I work for has just started properly looking at deploying more GIS solutions around the country, and we're looking at more mobile solutions. At the moment I'm stuck on which one to recommend. There is ArcPad, the full-flavoured goodness. It does mean that the maps can be saved to the machine directly (I've got an old version on my personal PDA) so no need for internet access, as we operate in areas which would have very iffy connection (and I don't know how much internet access costs on these things). I am hesitant about the cost, and the sheer amount of stuff that may bewilder some of our employees. The ArcGIS app is free and runs on everything under the sun, which is pretty good. However, it only runs content from ArcGIS.com I believe, which in some instances won't display all the data we need (due to the cap on the amount of points/shapes) unless we split it up. Also, worried about internet costs/connection. There is also, on ESRI's main products site, "ArcGIS for Windows Mobile". Could someone tell me about that and whether it needs to be connected? Basically, my main point of contention is whether it needs to be connected to the internet (either ArcGIS.com or an ArcSDE server). I'm going to look into some internet pricing for an Android as that may well be the route we go down for smaller contracts. Roughly it works like: ARCPAD: Design it in ArcMap. Easy to design, because it's almost of-of-the-box from ArcMAP (if you are familiar with ArcMAP). Upload it to your device. Use it connected/disconnected. Syncronize it with Arc SDE. Use it via WIFI, 3G. Users has to be GIS educated. Can be used on PDA, Tablets, PC. Can be used through a GIS server. ArcMobile for Windows: Design it in ArcMap. A bit more "difficult" to design in ArcMAP to the "end-user". Load it into ArcMobile Project Center and "detail design" it. Upload it to your device. Use it connected/Disconnected. Syncronize via ArcMAP (and if versioned data from ArcMAP to the SDE). Use it via WIFI or 3G. Users can be "Mr. and Mrs. Neighbour" witout ANY GIS skills, because everything is "menu's and scroll down and pick what you see on the ground" if the "designer" has done his job perfectly. Can be used on tablets and PC's. Can be used throuh a GIS Server, but also "just" by a USB-stick. ESRI "ArcGIS" App. from app-store: Has to run from ArcGIS online or have your own server solution. "Field collection" data is online-driven with your own server. All design can be done in ArcGIS online or ArcMAP and uploaded to Server or ArcGIS Online. For most people more like a "wiever and use map and features" than a "collector of features". Can be used on Android, iOS and Windows smartphones. Has to syncronize with some kind of server-solution via the Internet or 3G You could read a LOT of this on ESRI's pages and there is also "how to do's" in this forum for each software....just spend some time with "googling".

The only pitfall is that I had to manually enter in the output address: 'G:\Test\%Value%Clip.shp' for each of the output variables..... Have you tried: %Workspace%\%Value%Clip.shp....and just befor that set your workspace to: G:\Test

Hi I found the problem my self. The LAN010 output was empty and therefor the "FC to Raster" crashed the model and ArcMap.....When I removed this "string" in the model, it worked just fine.

Hi Duncan I think it may be my model and due to that there is Parametre in it. I just made a simple "Clip Model" and it works. Basicly i want. Schedule Windows 7 to run a py script The py script to start a model Model to run in night time. Result to be ready when i meet in to work I should not be ana "hokus pokus" with the script from above in my first mail, or ?

Hi Barbara Thanks, but i think i almost have solved my problem with the attached model. But i think there is a bug somewhere, either in my data or in ArcGIS 10. No matter if i have 2-3-4-5-6- or more clippolygons it ALWAYS fails on the last one. No matter if i have 2-3-4-5- or more FeatureClasses and several Rasters, it's completes it job OK on all fgdb except the last one, here I always is missing 1 FC???? If i look in "Result" everything is done with succes, also ALL FC in the last fgdb, BUT I'm still missing one ?? It drives me crazy :mad:

Hi Duncan Thx, but this is not my favorit area, so i'm still a bit lost 🙂 I gave my toolbox an alias as "AUTO" and my script looks like this now (the model i want to call is named "Test" and is working as a stand alone model): import sys, os, arcpy arcpy.ImportToolbox(r"x:\MB_Svenne\AutoRun.tbx") arcpy.Test_AUTO() But the result in IDLE is still the same ?

OK i solved that on my own with a model with "iterate Feature Classes" bases on shapefiles. NEXT problem.....I want it based on the shapefiles to clip in rasters/Vectors and put it, in the right database with the same name........as "based on shapefile MASTER, clip all rasters/vectors and put them in database MASTER"

Hi there I have either 5 folders og 5 FeatureClasses with unique names and want automaticly with a model to build 5 File-geodatabases named from these folders or FC. Anyone ?
