I have clients for whom I have assembled local data sets, exposed them as feature services and made them available to Collector. The data sets need verification or additional information added from the field. My inclination is to organize a comprehensive survey to bring a data set to 100% reliability and design workflow protocols to maintain it going forward. However, some clients want to edit data incrementally in the field while they are carrying out other work activities. My hesitation with the incremental approach is that 1) the data set is not fully reliable for a long time, 2) it can be hard to keep track of which features are up to date (although tracking Last Edit Date can help there). Point 1 means that you can't do reliable aggregate statistics on the data set. The comprehensive survey, however, requires more investment of time and staff. Looking for feedback from the community on these two approaches...

I am trying to create a survey of asset inspections from an existing asset feature service with the inspections in a related table. I don't want to edit the features, just add/edit related inspections. Ismael Chivite indicates in this 2017 UC workshop video that Survey123 Connect can be used to create tables in ArcGIS Online. Survey123 for ArcGIS: Advanced Topics - YouTube Using Survey123 Connect, can you create a survey from an existing feature service, then add a set of repeat questions, and then publish the survey to create the related table in the feature service? I have seen the instructions to delete the questions from the feature service, delete the begin repeat and end repeat, and set the form_id in the settings, but whenever I try to publish the survey, it says that the related table is not found. Of course, it does not yet exist against the feature service because I thought Survey123 Connect would create it. Do I have to create the related table myself?

We do not require S-63 at this time. I would add that we are outside of the US, so NOAA chart services are not an option.

I'm also seeing problems with this. I have a web layer in ArcGIS Online that I am accessing in ArcGIS Pro. I opened the web layer and interacted with it, and then I went out and edited the data with Collector. I came back to my desk and the edited data appeared in my web browser but not in ArcGIS Pro. I set the "Layer should be refreshed periodically" to 5 seconds and nothing refreshed. I hit Clear Cache button in Properties/Cache, then panned and zoomed but still nothing refreshed. It finally showed the refreshed data only when I exited Pro and then opened the project again.

Thank you! I was mixed up between deleting the feature records and deleting the feature class itself. Your answer makes complete sense.

I have a geodatabase version 10.2.1 in SQL Server 2008 R2. It has only two feature classes in it. I have a database role in that database called 'DBEditors'. If I look at the privileges for the feature classes using ArcCatalog, it says that DBEditors has Select, Insert, Update, and Delete privileges. I have a user who is a member of the DBEditors group in the SQL database - I see this in SQL Server Management Studio under Database Role Properties. However, the user says that the delete option for the feature classes is greyed out in her ArcCatalog. The feature classes are not in any topology and they are not connected to any feature services. The owner is DBO and they are not registered as versioned (they were, but I unregistered them). No one else has any locks on them (according to Geodatabase Administration). I've looked in SQL Studio and I don't see any duplicate/orphaned records in GDB_ITEMS or SDE_table_registry with the same tablename. What else can I do?

Just to update this ... I'm using Collector 17.0.2. I too found that if I downloaded a map to Collector, then made changes to that web map in ArcGIS Online, then I couldn't "Reload" the map on the device. there is a "Reload" option when you are in online mode. However, there is a "Manage" menu option now in the main app menu (bottom right in Android). There you can remove a downloaded map from the device. Then you just need to refresh the list of maps and the ArcGIS Online version will be there. Make sure you sync any changes first, of course.

In ArcGIS Online, under Configure Popups, you can create attribute expressions using Arcade. You can then add the expression to the list of attributes in the popup. However, I don't see it when accessing the map in Collector. Does Collector support the use of Arcade expressions?

I also have this question. I enabled editor tracking on a feature class, published it to AGOL in ArcGIS Pro, and made it available to Collector. I was hoping to figure out how to symbolize the layer in AGOL based on the last_edited_date field being null or Age > x. Unfortunately date fields seem to go to the continuous color ramps, not classes. If you try to change it to Unique Classes, it wants to use the date field as a basis for creating new features. I tried adding my own field "DateVerified" and in Pro I can symbolize on that being Null or "all other values", but it depends on the field person filling in that field in Collector. Using the last_edited_date would be cleaner.

Thank you! I am seeing this issue in 1.4.1. Pro can see folders in my C: drive and F: drive, but not my 😧 drive. But hitting the Refresh button on the top right of the window caused all of my 😧 folders to suddenly appear.

Sorry, yes the dropdown list of date formats can be clicked. I had interpreted your earlier post "mm/dd/yyyy" to mean that you could enter a custom date format string. Sorry for the confusion. Still, the time is not available and I assume that has to do with the field locking. This is a Workforce project that I have been prototyping so there has been data collection going on, and I added layers to the dispatcher and field worker maps, etc. I could share it with you.

Hi Craig, Thanks again. I am the owner of the feature layer/services. I created a Workforce Project, enabled location tracking, and added the location_* feature service to a new web map. The attached screenshot shows the map with the Configure Pop-up window (Show time is disabled and I can't type in the Format droplist), and you can also see the locked fields in the attribute table behind the popup. In the second screenshot, I can see that there is time data in there. Kevin
