Sorry, yes the dropdown list of date formats can be clicked. I had interpreted your earlier post "mm/dd/yyyy" to mean that you could enter a custom date format string. Sorry for the confusion. Still, the time is not available and I assume that has to do with the field locking. This is a Workforce project that I have been prototyping so there has been data collection going on, and I added layers to the dispatcher and field worker maps, etc. I could share it with you.

Hi Craig, Thanks again. I am the owner of the feature layer/services. I created a Workforce Project, enabled location tracking, and added the location_* feature service to a new web map. The attached screenshot shows the map with the Configure Pop-up window (Show time is disabled and I can't type in the Format droplist), and you can also see the locked fields in the attribute table behind the popup. In the second screenshot, I can see that there is time data in there. Kevin

I see in the Workforce administrators troubleshooting page, it says that even if you turn location tracking off, the mobile workers' current locations are still shown on the maps. Troubleshooting for project owners—Workforce for ArcGIS | ArcGIS Looking at the database schema then, is the mobile app updating the Shape field of the Workers table when location tracking is turned off? It is great to be able to add extra layers to the Dispatcher and Worker maps. This allows the addition of important reference data to the maps. However, neither the Dispatcher on the web interface nor the Field Worker in the mobile app interface, can see a legend of what these layers represent. Also, they cannot turn layers on and off. We have tiled base maps that they would need to switch between to get different information for their work tasks. Therefore, it would be good to add the Legend and the Layer List widgets to the Dispatcher (web) and Field Worker (app) interfaces.

Thanks Craig! I am not getting that. In the Configure Popup dialog, when I select one of those date fields, there is a droplist of date formats, but it is only selectable not editable. There is a Show Time checkbox but it is greyed out. I created a new empty project and the location tracking layer in that one is not locked and the Show Time settings are available. When I look at the attribute table of the original location tracking feature layer, the fields show the lock icon. The new location table is not locked. Would that be the cause? If so, under what conditions does the location tracking layer get locked?

I was also looking for timestamp data. I see in the Item Details/Data page for the location tracking feature layer, the CreationDate and EditDate fields are datetime, but when you load the layer into a web map, it only shows the date component in the attribute table and popups. You cannot change this in the popup configuration. It seems counterproductive to have location tracking in 10s to 15m intervals and only the date portion is displayed. I note that if you enable time animation, it respects the time values.

In ArcMap, you can save a list of favorite coordinate systems, which is handy because there are so many to scroll through to find ones you need. Similarly, when choosing character marker symbols, there is usually a long list of system fonts to choose from. It would be useful to be able to maintain a favorite fonts list, so that we could go straight to a list of fonts that we regularly use, such as fonts that have graphical characters. All of the ESRI* fonts are grouped together, but there are others like Wingdings and Font Awesome.

I thought I heard on a webinar that you could add in your own feature services to the dispatcher map to let the dispatcher search and zoom to your own features when creating assignments. For example, if you are creating assignments to inspect known fire hydrants or light poles, you could search by an id number and then create the assignment. I opened the details of the *_dispatchers map service, went to Settings, then in the Application Settings, under Find Locations, I added in my feature layer. But it does not show in the Workforce Project web app at all (where I create assignments). The address search bar of the app does not seem to register any of the changes I make on the web map settings.

It sounds like you were given (1) a geodatabase attribute table (or point feature class) with XY coordinates that was imported from an AutoCAD drawing; and (2) a spreadsheet with very little location data (a route and a street name) but it does have account and fixture type data that you want in the GIS. The main question is what field are you going to use to link the two together. Is there any unique ID number for the poles? If not, you may have to plot the XY data from the attribute table as points, add an ID field to the point attribute table, create ID numbers in the spreadsheet, manually or auto-populate the ID numbers in the spreadsheet, then enter each appropriate ID number in the attribute table. Then you can join the spreadsheet to the attribute table. The scary question is how many poles do you have? Also, how do you know which pole in the spreadsheet is which point in the GIS? I assume you'd have a route map (drawing) somewhere that you can follow to identify each pole.
