In the deprecated story map series template, enabling “synchronize map locations” made it so that the initial location of the first map is applied to all maps (Bern has showed how to achieve that in Portfolio) but also that navigation by users in any map is reflected in all maps. Is there a there a similar setting in portfolio (or perhaps another app) that achieves the second piece? Essentially I’d like the user to zoom and pan in on one map/tab, then switch to another map/tab and see additional data but at the same scale and extent. Appreciate any pointers!

Great work around. I added a parameter variable (data type table), renamed the variable "Excel worksheet" and typed "arcpy.Describe(r"%Excel worksheet%").name[:-1]" in the expression line of the Calculate Value utility. I added the [:-1] in order to format the value by trimming the $ that gets pulled in with the worksheet name. It's working great in both modelBuilder and geoprocessing. Thank you both for the help @DuncanHornby and @curtvprice!

Thanks for the pointer. I'll be using 2.6.3 until the next corporate rollout but will test again in the newer version of Pro once I'm able to upgrade. Hopefully soon!

I created a model that uses the Parse Path utility to pass the name of a parameter input value (a spreadsheet in my case) to various output feature classes using inline variable substitution. The model works great when run in ModelBuilder, and after it successfully runs in ModelBuilder, I can also run it as a tool from toolbox without issue. But when I first open up my project and attempt to run my model as a tool from toolbox, ArcGIS Pro crashes - the program, not just the tool - with no error message. I figured the issue must be somewhere else in my model but through troubleshooting, I've learned that if I run Parse Path alone in ModelBuilder first (by right clicking the Parse Path utility and clicking Run) I can close ModelBuilder then run the whole model from toolbox and that seems to work fine. Then I was able to isolate the issue in a separate model with just the Parse Path utility. Works fine in ModelBuilder and from toolbox - but only after first run in ModelBuilder. Otherwise a fresh instance of Pro will crash. I've tried selecting several different files types from several different folder locations. What am I missing here? I'm using ArcGIS Pro 2.6.3 and Format Name, Extension and Workspace is enabled for Parse Path.

We have a cumbersome data entry workflow (currently in a file gdb) that would benefit from attribute rules and ArcGIS Online. I'm faced with the decision to either move to ArcGIS Online, or implement attribute rules at the file gdb level. Wish I didn't have to choose!

Hi @Shwu-jingJeng Thanks for the quick reply. The Samsung is an SMT350 running version 3.11.164. He doesn't have any other Survey's that he can test so just the one survey is causing issues that we can be sure of. Since having issues on his tablet, he installed the app on his iphone (fresh install of 3.11.164) which seems to be working fine. He can send surveys successfully there. Worth mentioning that there was an issue with the outbox (a survey with a red exclamation) when he updated S123 app on the Samsung tablet. We're not worried about recovering the surveys in outbox as they were just tests, but would like to get his tablet sending surveys successfully again. Thanks, Hailey

My coworker is having an issue with the Survey123 field app on his Samsung tablet. After updating the app to the latest version, he can no longer send a survey. When he hits send, it appears to work, yet the Survey is no where to be found. It's not in ArcGIS Online, his sent folder, or his outbox folder. Another issue, is that he can't actually open his Outbox. He'll click on the folder and nothing happens. It has a red exclamation from a survey that wouldn't sent prior to the version update. Further, his sent inbox states that 15 surveys have been sent, but none are actually listed within the folder. Worth mentioning that the latest version on his iphone is working fine. Quite a few strange things at once. Not sure where to start.

Hello, I have a polygon layer that contains overlapping areas. I would like to remove the overlapping areas based on a comparison of the overlapping attribute fields. In this example, keep only the area with the most recent year. I know I can do this by setting a topology rule and editing each overlap individually, but I'm trying to wrap my head around a faster way using the overlay toolset. Thanks for any help!

Thanks Dan for the quick help. Unfortunately I did try running this from the python window using raw encoding (based on your advice in another post) and received the same error message. I’m wondering if this tool only supports file gdb input in a later version of pro but I can’t find any documentation to support my hunch. Due to internal IT processes my version often lags and I am currently running 2.1.3

I’m trying to run Create Database Sequence in my file geodatabase using ArcGIS Pro version 2.1.3, but it keeps failing: “ERROR 000152: Geodatabase instance do not exist. This tool works only with an existing geodatabase instance.” The tool reference page states that it works with file geodatabase, and I've tried pointing the input parameter to several existing file geodatabases but it seems to be expecting an existing enterprise geodatabase as input. What am I missing here? Thanks! Hailey

Hello Phil, Can you help me understand how to do this on a mobile device? I have an image question where a photo is to be taken of a soil pit. Later in the survey, after the soil is disturbed, I would like to use another image question to pull up the original image and mark it up with soil horizon names using the annotate appearance. The result I'm looking for is two attachments of the same photo, only one of the two would be marked up with annotations. I can replicate this in Survey123 Connect by navigating to C:\Users\ArcGIS\My Survey Attachments to pull up the original photo from the second image question, but I can't seem to locate the original photo from the field app on my iphone 7. Even better? If I could make the original photo the default background image to annotate in my second image question. Thanks, Hailey
