Alberto, I tried reproducing the original problem, export the Table to a File GDB on local drive, but it completed successfully in my case. Client- ArcGIS Desktop 10.1 SP1 OS- Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 64-Bit -- 2GB RAM Database- MS SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition. Table size- Table has approx 2.3 million records (2311211 records to be precise) Am I missing out on anything while testing this? Regards,

Could you just confirm whether the "Table to table" works, if the background geoprocessing is disabled? If the background geoprocessing is disabled, you should get an "000258 : Output <value> already exists." message! Can you please confirm this? FYI- The problem could be reproduced with background geoprocessing enabled. Regards,

A simple explanation would be, Unregistering the data as versioned, would delete the corresponding Delta Tables (a- & d- Tables). So any edits that you have in the delta tables will be lost. As you mentioned in the initial post, to compress the geodatabase to State 0 is the best possible practice before performing these operations. Regards,

Jamal, To keep it simple, The Select, Insert, Update, Delete granted at the database level are referred to as "Permissions" and provides the user the permission on all the data in that geodatabase. Here is an image showing granting permissions to a user in a geodatabase (SQL Server--> Right-Click on the database in SQL Server Management Studio-->Properties): The Select, Insert, Update, Delete granted at the Data level are referred to as "Privileges" and provides the user the mentioned privileges on that data only. So what we grant from ArcCatalog are basically Privileges on those data. Regards,

Its clearly mentioned in all the Webhelps: Only the table owner can alter privileges on it. Only the table owner can drop it or alter its definition; therefore, even if another user has been granted insert, update, and delete privileges on a dataset, that user cannot alter the schema. The dbo and db_owner roles will not appear in the User/Role list for SQL Server databases. These users automatically have full privileges on all data, and you cannot revoke those privileges. http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#/Granting_and_revoking_privileges_on_datasets/002q0000002z000000/ Regards,

Its because you have selected all the connected for disconnecting, which includes your connection to the sde geodatabase too. Just select the connection you want to disconnect and you will be able to do so. Regards,

Yes, users can grant separate permissions in 10.1, just that the sde geodatabase should be 10.1 too. Regards,

Jamal, As the ESRI WEBHELP clearly describes: " Checking this option causes edits that have been saved to the DEFAULT version, whether edited directly or merged from other versions, to be saved in the base (business) tables. Edits to other versions remain in the delta tables when you save. This option is available for simple features only??those that do not participate in a topology, network dataset, or geometric network. Therefore, if you open the Register As Versioned dialog box and find the move edits to base tables check box is unavailable, it means your dataset contains a topology, network dataset, or geometric network. Jamal, I am assuming that you are using a sde 10.0 geodatabase or one prior to that, because in a sde 10.1 geodatabase we can separately grant Insert, Update or Delete privileges. From the images, it shows that you are using ArcGIS Desktop 10.1 but the version of the sde geodatabase will still matter. Still just FYI, you can grant Insert, Update or Delete separately from 10.1 onwards. Here is a snap showing that: Hope this helps. Regards,

Aaron, You seem to be hitting the following bug: http://support.esri.com/en/bugs/nimbus/TklNMDg0NzAx Alternate Solution Use ArcCatalog 10.x to transfer the rasters. If the raster is copied/imported using SDE commands, use Desktop 10 to register with the geodatabase. Regards,

Josh, You cannot upgrade the sde geodatabase from 9.2 to 9.3.1 using the ArcCatalog 9.3.1 interface. You must use the ArcSDE 9.3.1 Post Installation Wizard to upgrade the geodatabases to 9.3.1 first. http://webhelp.esri.com/arcgisdesktop/9.3/index.cfm?TopicName=Upgrade_summary_for_ArcSDE_geodatabases After the sde geodatabases are at 9.3.1, you can connect from ArcCatalog 10.1 and upgrade to 10.1 from there. The functionality to upgrade sde geodatabase using ArcCatalog interface started 10.0 onwards. Hope this helps! Regards,

Ernst, The respective F-table maintains the shape.len and shape.area information for a Feature Class. But as Vince mentioned, it's not possible to implement this always. The "F" table does not always exist. Native geometry types do not include a Shape.Len and Shape.Area field. We can't create them using an OLE DB connection. These queries can be used to query the details though, from my experience (sde.Area3 is the FC name): Select shape.STLength() as length from sde.Area3 Select shape.STArea() as area from sde.Area3 Regards,
