Damian, I am assuming that you are using the ArcGIS Desktop 10.1. You can specify the Config. keyword in the Feature Class to feature Class tool as well for an Express geodatabase. At the bottom of the Feature Class to feature Class tool there is an option called Environments. Environments-->Geodatabase--> Specify your desired Config. Keyword in "Output CONFIG Keyword"-->Ok. This will import/export the Feature Class in your desired storage type. Hope this helps. Regards

The link doesn't work. It ask me to login and then takes me right back to the login page again. Seems to be some bugs in the website. Its not a problem with the link. The correct link: http://support.esri.com/en/bugs/nimbus/TklNMDg3NzY1

Leo, Just to make Quinn's post clearer... Quinn is working with two sde geodatabases in the 2 way replica....he is adding new data from the File geodatabase(FGDB) in to the child sde gdb and then synchronizing the child with the parent sde gdb. Thats the only role of the FGDB here. To confirm, for a 2-way replica.....both need to be sde geodatabase! A FGDB cannot be involved in a 2-way replica. This is what I understand. Quinn please correct me if I'm wrong. Regards,

Molly, Are the data Registered as Versioned? If yes, it seems that you might be just checking the Base table of that Feature Class. Disconnect all users from that Geodatabase and perform a "COMPRESS" on the geodatabase. You should be then able to see the changes in the SQL Environment too. Regards,

Shon, I think you should consider contacting the ESRI Tech Support. Maybe if the Support Analysts have a look at your environment and settings, they can help you in a better way. Regards,

Brian, The first thing that comes to my mind, is that the MS SQL Server 2012 is not compatible with ArcSDE 10.0. Second, the Windows 2012 is not a supported platform for ArcGIS Server 10.0 ArcSDE 10 SQL Server Database Requirements: http://resources.arcgis.com/content/arcsde/10.0/sql-server-system-requirements ArcGIS Desktop 10 System Requirements: http://help.arcgis.com/en/systemrequirements/index.html ArcGIS Server 10 System Requirements: http://resources.arcgis.com/content/arcgisserver/10.0/arcgis-server-server-requirements These are just the initials things you have to care off before the migration. Shon, I don't really have any at my disposal right now, but there are many such scripts available on the net. Check if this helps: http://www.pythian.com/blog/httpconsultingblogs-emc-comjamiethomsonarchive20070209sql-server-2005_3a00_-view-all-permissions-_2800_2_2900_-aspx/ You can quickly verify from SQL Server Management Studio though right now.

If the ArcSDE is at 10.0 SP5, then yes. You need to install the ArcGIS for Desktop 10.0 SP5 on the client. http://support.esri.com/en/downloads/patches-servicepacks/view/productid/66/metaid/1876 Make sure you are connected as a "sysadmin" or "db_owner" user. That's a prerequisite for an upgrade. Regards,

Miguel, Will you be upgrading your ArcGIS Desktop to 10.1 as well? Just upgrading the ArcGIS for Server to 10.1, will result in some limitations, as in, you won't be able to perform any administrative operations. I'll suggest to keep a ArcGIS for Server 10.0 on a spare server till you upgrade everything to 10.1. This link discusses a lot regarding these compatibilities. Hope this will help: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#/Compatibility_of_ArcGIS_10_1_for_Server_with_previous_versions/0154000005zs000000/ Regards,

The error message clearly states that the sde geodatabase needs to be upgraded before the service can be started. Create a Direct Connection to that sde geodatabase using a "sysadmin" user. Right click on the connection-->Properties-->General-->Upgrade the geodatabase to the current version.. Make sure the ArcGIS Desktop is at the same level as ArcSDE to avoid any issues (even Service packs matter). The issue might be encountered is you are installing new Service Packs for ArcGIS Desktop and ArcSDE but not upgrading the Geodatabase. In these scenarios the geodatabase stays at the old level, whereas the ArcSDE has been upgraded. A simple search on Google with "ERROR in checking system stored procedures (1). Run the Upgrade Geodatabase tool to install/upgrade system tables.", led me to this page: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/32176-Upgrading-ArcSDE-10-installation-to-sp2 I hope this helps in resolving your issue. Best Regards,

Chris, You missed out on the Database (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL,...) information in the last post... Anyway, assuming you are working with either SQL Server or Oracle, as they are the most widely used, here are a few links you can refer to regarding the permissions: SQL Server: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#//002q0000002s000000 Oracle: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#//002n0000002v000000 Hope this helps! Chris, Any user with the necessary permissions can add data into a geodatabase. You don't need to be the owner of the geodatabase to add new Feature Class. If you currently don't have permissions, then YES, you need to contact that person and have him grant the permissions. NOTE: It would be really great, if you post details of the version of ArcGIS and Database you are working with, along with the original post, so that we can provide you with any related links which would help.
