You are actually creating new *.sde connection files, everytime you create a new connection to any database using the IP Addresses\logins\passwords in ArcGIS Desktop. By default, the connection files are created in the below location: C:\Users\%user_profile%\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.x\ArcCatalog (The AppData folder is hidden by default) So, you just need to make a Folder Connection in ArcGIS Pro to the above folder and should see all your connections there. Then you can Right-click on these connections and add to the required Project. ** Yes, you are right, data cannot be dragged and dropped from ArcGIS Desktop into ArcGIS Pro. And I doubt this will ever happen as these are two different applications

Yes, The Network Drives do not seem to show up in the list when we try to create a new Folder Connection in ArcGIS Pro. However, you directly add the Path to a Network Drive and that should work, as Brian suggested in the previous comment.

Also make sure that you are connected to the same Transactional Version while publishing, that was used to register the database initially.

I just tried the same steps mentioned in that link and it worked for me. However I used ArcGIS Pro 1.1 beta, as I don't have the ArcGIS Pro 1.0.2 available right away. I'll check on ArcGIS Pro 1.0.2 and update here, if possible. Meanwhile, try with some other data and on another machine maybe.

I think there is already an Enhancement Request for this. Hyperlinks don't work in ArcGIS Pro as of now (from my understanding) ENH-000083925 - Provide the functionality to create Field based hyperlinks in ArcGIS Pro similar to ArcMap. If someone else doesn't confirm this, I'll suggest having a word with Esri Tech Support to get an answer\confirmation on this.

I am not much into Python, however you can try creating something like this: Basically, create a Python script which will Join the feature class to the different database tables and then Export the output of the Joins as a new Feature Class to the desired SDE geodatabase, for publishing.

What if you just create the MXD with the data from the FGDB only. No Group Layers. Same behaviour? Also is this happening on multiple machines?

When you run the append, it doesn't really "replace the feature class" in any of the versions. Its just modifies the records for that feature class in that version. Basically, if you are planning to script the process, make sure that the sde database connection you are using, is connected to the Version you want. You can connect to the desired version by: Right-clicking on the sde database connection> Geodatabase Connection Properties> Choose the correct version from the list (for 10.1 and above) Right-clicking on the sde database connection> Connection Properties> Change to the desired version Geodatabase Managing Data

Well, it was never about the icon or a badge for me. It started out as something to keep myself occupied during my spare time and now I try and answer when I can. But surely I have learnt a lot more outside my area of interest, than I could by studying myself. The Badges or the Icons were a way to quickly get an idea about how 'Senior' the member was and how many Correct answers they have already provided(it used to show in the earlier Forums). I believe, this gave an assurance of some sort to the member seeking an answer. I had my apprehensions about GeoNet in the beginning, but have slowly gotten used to it now and kinda like it more than the previous forums. Everything being said, Congratulations to the winners and Best of Luck to others!

How Big are the databases? If they are below 10GB, download a SQL Server 2008 R2 Express edition (for free). This should work on the new server and shouldn't take much time.

To be honest, SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2012 is quite a big jump. There was 2005, 2008, 2008 R2 in between. So, yes the wait for upgrade was quite long. Even though you can connect to a SQL Server 2000 instance from SQL Server 2012 Management Studio, you cannot restore it on the SQL Server 2012 instance directly. OLE-DB connections are read-only and cannot be used to load data or upgrade the sde geodatabase to a higher version, which you ultimately need. To do the upgrade, you will need a Direct Connection.

If possible, revoke permission on the Feature dataset for the editor and then re-grant after re-opening the interface. Check if that helps!
