The eSearch Widget has this built in now with not changes to the map manager code. some widgets are not moved to 2.4 yet, so this particular app deployment is still in 2.3 untill i fix the code for some of the widget it uses... i figured out the problem is specific to that layer. all other layers query fine. ... Hey there, having a bit of an issue. It seems like the query works: http://www.mapservices.ca/aditya/index.html?q=Westbank/Westbank!7&v=MAPIT.548.2 however, the selection zoom and selected graphics are placed in the wrong place in the world. Robert I see you removed the white background on the TOC. However some of my symbologies need to be quite light, and against the widget background its almost all washed out. Is there a way to change the background colour or reduce the transparancey/opacity either through mxml or the config without changing the transparancey for all the other widgets if I were to do it from config.xml ... note that Flash an iOS will never work. Flexviewer also cannot gain access to the integrated GPS. The best it can do is geolocation at this point. However come Flexviewer 2.4 (sometime this month), there will be better support for touch-enabled devices and flash 4.5. A quick google will result in some good blogs on flash 4.5 and mobile apps. However, a ready deployable Flexviewer may not be in the cards, you may need to use the flex for arcgis api and go custom. In some initial testing of current flexviewer with some of our tablets: Blackberry playbook = not that awesome Asus tablet and transformer = better toughbook CF19 = better again, without being able to integrate live GPS at this point... Thanks, but this did not seem to work. I have tried to use other layers in the service as well as change from feature to dynamic (also changing the url as appropriate). the layer shows up in the TOC but no data is shown. I am sure it very basic, but something that I have not yet been able to find. I can not move forward until this is solved, so any suggestion or advice will be appreciated. James Looks like you have a minimum scale set on that map service. Try zooming in past that scale to see if it displays. Also, check your spatial references. That worked! I could have swore I tried that before but I've tried so many different things maybe I didn't. Good news is, it works now. I find that clearing internet cache on the client, flash cache on the client, and rest cache on the server helps. Also, closing the browser down, and then reopen. simply hitting the refresh button doesn't seem to 'refresh' the map services. ... View more

I am haveing the same problem I am running ArcServer 10, ArcGIS 10, Flexviewer 2.3.1, Adobe Flash Builder 4. I downloadeed and did everything the Getting started instructions say to do for the uncompiled version of the viewer I got all my widgets to work but when I add an operational layer it shows up in the more tab of the map switcher but does not display here is my code: <operationallayers> <layer label="Parcels" type="dynamic" visible="false" alpha="1.0" url="http://gisserver/HHGIS/rest/services/HH_GIS/MapServer/46"/> </operationallayers> After I add code to the flex project I save and build the project then go to run index.mxml and it comes up in a IE window and everything displays except my parcel layer. Any sugestions as far as I know, type="dynamic" does not allow you to specifically show a single layer from the map service. try removing /46/. If you want to specficially only show one layer. I'm experiencing the same issue, but only on certain browsers and OS. On my development machine as well as any other machine that is running XP and IE 8, it works fine. but I find that with anybody running vista and IE9, they need to turn on compatibility load, then hit the refresh button. I also find that it will work in firefox but will bail with chrome. ... View more

I can replicate the problem consistently by clearing the cache Using windows 7, and IE9, and not in compatibility view. I'm using flex for ags 2.3 api I'm compiling requiring flash 10.0 or greater I'm using IIS 7, and using windows authentication for access to the flex app The client flash player is 10.3 on IE9 in windows 7 The problem we are experiencing here is that once the user types in their u/p the screen goes blank . Usually there's a little animated clock that signifies page is loading. Its not until I hit the refresh that it will load properly. This is not consistent either. sometimes it will load, sometimes it will not. It is more stable if I turn on compatibility view. However this is not an option to tell people to do this. It works fine on IE 8, Flash 10.1 in XP though. Any body else with this problem? is there a fix? ... View more
