Hi Kevin, Take a look at this thread: https://community.esri.com/thread/47538#comment-247567 Similar-ish situation but with some hopefully helpful steps.

Scott, So are you using AutoCAD? And are you wanting to change the symbology of the point into a valve-like icon? Does this help? http://www.ellenfinkelstein.com/acadblog/choose-a-useful-point-style-in-autocad/

Hi Scott, Is your shapefile consisting of points, lines, or polygons? Which CAD program are you wanting to create "blocks" in? If using AutoCAD, maybe try this link? How to create Complex linetypes | AutoCAD | Autodesk Knowledge Network I am not totally sure since I do not use AutoCAD that much.

Sonja, The issue I often see is that the polygons are not "closed" in CAD. When they aren't closed (as shapes), they do not come in as polygons. Can you verify that these areas are closed and denoted as "complex shapes" (I believe that is the terminology that is used in AutoCAD)? Another question, was this CAD data always in AutoCAD? Or was it in another CAD program, then moved to AutoCAD? I find that this conversion can sometimes blow up the polygons as well, for some reason.

Should the N in baseName be capitalized? arcpy.CopyFeatures_management(fc, os.path.join(outgdb, fcdesc.baseName)) Does that make a difference? If that is not the case, maybe you could put in a print statement after the user input (the GetParameterAsText) to capture what was inputted to see if it is the right type of input.

Hi Akshay, Try using the Add Geometry Attributes tool for this and use the Length property to get the length of the line: http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/tools/data-management-toolbox/add-geometry-attributes.htm

Hi Günther, That is weird that your story maps aren't working in that one place. They work for me in Utah in the US. I think you are asking some good questions and I'm not sure about how to get around it. I would guess that someone on this board has run into this issue before. I am tagging Owen Evans and Rupert Essinger since they are some story map gurus who post on here frequently. Have you tried different browsers in that location? Have you tried different computers on that same network?

Tom, This is great news. I know a lot of folks have asked for this functionality. I wonder if it can be custom coded into a Web AppBuilder or so.

It sounds like things often come down to using Data Interoperability Extension. Does this somewhat replace the need for a Server since your data can be synced, kind of?

Hi Rene, I know this can be done but I am not entirely sure how. How are you wanting it to work? Take a look at this story map by Miami DDA, they have custom headers along with the regular header: https://d46ba9bedc29cd50a7d7fa9176e776e4d6345fda-www.googledrive.com/host/0B-gmrtG3G_SaVDQ1SDRVdlV6Umc/ Is this kind of what you were looking for?

Gary, This is a great idea. Would this essentially create a way to utilize routes and mileposts to either locate areas on a map or to create events?
