These answers left me with more questions. I would like to know what the purpose for having the SDESVR_REL_LOW entry in the GDB version table. I would assume it does what its name implies - the current GDB structure is compatible with versions down to 9.3. My questions are, Does this SDESVR_REL_LOW value change when we upgrade our GDB from 10.5.1 to 10.8.1 or with the inclusion or with ArcGIS Pro? Is there a difference between Create Enterprise Geodatabase when using Desktop or Pro Catalog?...are the GDB's created by either still compatible with the other?

Well, I think the locks were in the table since Dec 2018, just not reported by the 10.5 version of the Desktop software. Now that it's reporting by 10.6.1, it's an issue because I can't view locks and administer the database through the Desktop client.

Interesting that, when I use ArcMap 10.5 I don't see the issue, but when I use ArcMap 10.6.1, I do.

For the crashing, please try to delete your Normal.mxt, ArcCatalog.gx, and Normal.gxt in your C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.x\ArcCatalog\ and C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.5\ArcMap\Templates\ folders. These are automatically regenerated when you restart ArcMap and ArcCatalog. For the second issue, Microsoft has released a set of drivers to fix the XLSX support in ArcMap. Search for and install the 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components.

...and if not, why not? Something like this would be invaluable to moving to Pro, especially if it contains both Desktop and Pro functionalities.

Just to share my solution - we had a version named 42" WL that neither the user or administrator could delete. I had suspicion that the special characters double-quote and space were causing an issue so I renamed the version in the SDE_VERSIONS table to 42_WL and voila!, no problem deleting the version. I suspect the only allowed characters in a version are alpha-numeric and underscores.

I noticed that our team members can no longer see the contents of the Settings tab. Was this an intentional part of the most recent upgrade? Also, where can I find what version or date updated on our open data site? Where is the historical update documentation on what updates were applied or bugs repaired? konzelt edennehy

We are using Cartegraph OMS with ArcGIS Online (AGO) and have found that every time a user logs into OMS, we have to first type our Org Name into the _____________.maps.arcgis.com dialog (attached). This is no bueno because field crews don't want to have to put down tools or remove gloves to type in our org name when they log in. The idea here is for ESRI to parameterize the org name so it can be passed in a URL from Cartegraph OMS, thus eliminating the need for this "enter your org name" dialog box. For OMS users and Cartegraph, it would then be useful for the Org Name to be a configurable item within OMS, maintained by the organizational administrator. I believe this is something that would be a tremendous benefit for all OMS and other AGO-authenticated users.

After testing with our internal Cartegraph OMS admin, we found that this does not work. I'll be submitting an idea to ESRI to add a parameter to the AGO login when the organization isn't known. This occurs when authenticating from Cartegraph OMS. Once this parameter is in place, we will request from Cartegraph the ability to administer our org name within OMS, which should then pass the org name through the parameter, thus bypassing this unnecessary dialog. Please Vote Up this Idea. https://community.esri.com/ideas/12614

Well, in working with ESRI Support, they provided me a link that bypasses the AGO request for our organizational name by encrypting it into the URL. This should work for our purposes, so I will mark this question as resolved. Thanks AJ.

I'm wondering if there's a way to pass our Organization name between Cartegraph OMS and AGO so that we don't receive the "Enter your ArcGIS organization's URL below: _______________.maps.arcgis.com" dialog box. This is a nuisance dialog that I feel isn't necessary and could be parameterized in the URL request. I imagine the input box being able to accept a parameter in the url, like, &user_orgkey=arlingtontx The ramifications for 200 of our Cartegraph OMS users is that, when out in the field, they don't have to take off their glove or put down their tools to type our org name. Anyone out there see this as a benefit that should be implemented? Thanks.
