Are you trying to place the trees using Field Maps or ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro? It would be easier if you use Pro or ArcMAP Place 20 trees by hand copy and paste you now have 40 copy past you now have 80 copy paste you now have 160 etc etc. Or in ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro there is a tool called Create Random Points. The points can be constrained to a polygon that you have selected. The below example is a polygon I drew, selected, and then ran the Create Random Points tool. I selected 1000 as the number

I would think for the best and most economical solution you would want to work closely with a Trimble or Garmin Provider. Granted there are other GPS manufacturers but Trimble is very good, in my opinion. My company currently exclusively uses Trimble. Providing the offline maps should be pretty straight forward.

Well you should have no trouble getting a GPS signal in (I will assume) South America. However, I doubt the researcher will get anything resembling a data signal on a phone or tablet, depending on how far from civilization. When you are talking off set, how much are you talking about? I would think that for frog observations that centimeter accuracy is not needed. You should find out specifically what they need to collect. For the most part, if they have a device, they know their area of interest (geographically) you could set up off line maps and air photos and they could use the cursor on their phone to ball park the location pretty good. Well canopy cover would hinder that. Frontier Precision is a company local to me that provides excellent GPS solutions for a wide variety of needs. https://frontierprecision.com/ If the researcher does need to be super accurate you are probably going to go above their budget.

It is a VPN issue. It may need to be addressed by your IT department. Which VPN protocol are you using? We use Cisco AnyConnect. I just opened a few this morning while using VPN from home. Our version of Survey123 Connect is older. Can you share your URL, no need to share the survey number just the rest of it.

What do you mean by the UI? I would get rid of the 4k. No significant benefit unless your using your computer to play games. Do you have the Scale and Layout set to 100% When my work laptop is connected I have the resolution lowered. On my personal computer is kicked up to the edge of the notches.

I accomplish that but using polygons to define the Data Driven Page or in the case of Pro the Map series. Nothing automatic about it but once it was defined it worked great. I used to manage a map book for a client that was 278 pages. 60 at the township level the insets were quarters of a twp, a quarter of the quarter, and a quarter of the quarter of the quarter. That is Twp, Quarter, Quarter Quarter, and Quarter Quarter Quarter. I actually had a sixth level what was showing the internals of Switch Banks.

With Collector for Windows you can use Collector on your computer in the office. Some of our field crews need to do this to add photos as attachments that they have taken in the field because in some our remoter areas there is no service or very poor service. One of our guys attached his iPhone to his computer and tried to load them direct from the phone to Collector. It would not work. I had him load the photos on his computer and it did work. I connected my phone to my computer and I was able to load photos direct from my iPhone to Collector. He has an iPhone 12 and I am using an XR I have tried looking through some settings to see if there is a permission but cannot find one that pertains. Any ideas or thoughts
