Jason, it should work with 10.1 ArcGIS Server services...although I use 10.2.2 so haven't tested. But, it doesn't actually depend on any desktop version, so you should be fine, especially if using AGOL services. to get started, check out Tips and Observations for getting Web AppBuilder - Developer Edition Installed and Web AppBuilder Developer Edition – Customization Resource List << disclaimer...my blogs >>

If by chance your web adapter is set up as secure.....try. Https. Instead of http. https://<web-server-URL>/<web-adaptor...which may not be the default ArcGIS>/rest/services keep in mind however, if you have disabled the rest services thru the web adaptor, as recommended in the security documents, you will get an error and not be able to see rest endpoints. That will be the case whether inside your network or not.

Nat, have you checked to make sure the machines you are using are (still) registered with the AGOL app as talked about in Tips and Observations for getting Web AppBuilder - Developer Edition Installed Have no clue if it will make a difference, but worth verifying ....I haven't had a chance to install 1.1 yet myself....hopefully this weekend.

For what it's worth, I have both Safari and Chrome installed on my iPad. Like on desktops, it seems different browsers work better for different situations.

Wwhat Tim mention could still be the issue. To check and reset to allow location.... Try going into the Settings of your devices, and you should have an option in Privacy called Location. Tagat may say ON, bur if you expand that list, you can turn on location services for individual apps. The actually location in Settings may vary some depending on you iOS.

it's best installed on a desktop machine, not a server, but it does NOT require ArcGIS Desktop or server. It will require access to ArcGIS Online or portal to get it started. For tips, check out Tips and Observations for getting Web AppBuilder - Developer Edition Installed

Hi Veronika, thanks for providing the link, I think tht will be a good addition to the document. Do you know if the change for the http proxyis still necessary with WAB v 1.1, released 3/19/2015? I will want to make a note of that in the document.

Srisubrahmanya Nandula, i created a "question" for you in Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS which will give you a better chance to get an answer since I do not know the answer. You should have received notice of that thread, but if not, Is it possible to add an 'x' to close tabs in attribute table? for for some tips from me for getting started with GeoNet, you can check out Tips for Getting Started on GeoNet (general and Alaska User Group specific) which is not the official or complete GeoNet Help but has some simple tips for getting started. Keep in mind I have not updated the Tips document lately, so some GeoNet updates may not be included. I hope this helps and someone can help you with your question.

just to throw this out there, I was able to copy the entire WAB folder to a new machine, register it under the same app inAGOL and Fire it up on the second machine. It could see what I developed on the other machine...but local on the second machine. granted, keeping these in sync could become an issue right away, but it is possible to share that way. Most likely refreshing the entire web-app folder once in a while might work. It was just me playing, not sharing with someone else, so not testing in the real world.

Check the connection in Catalog to your server. Maybe the credentials you are providing does not have the correct permissions to access the new location. And again, a reboot or at least relog in of the user on the arcmap/catalog machine might be necessary, since at least on some operating systems, permissions are assigned at log in.

when you moved your cache, did you make sure to move all the folders and config files too? they contain info on the projection and without that being valid, it may not project on the fly properly if it is different than the ArcMap frame. ...if course, you can always try the standard reboot and give it another try.

Gustavo, My guess is it should not be an issue since they are licensed and used in a different way. At least if you are asking if the can both run. I still use even older versions of ArcPad on machines with ArcGIS 10.3. if you are wanting to know if they can communicate with each other, for example, clipping for offline use, I haven't tested so can't offer answer. hopefully others can respond.

Hi Sophie, I'm glad you are finding the information helpful. re: your question on step 3d: I choose "web mapping" as shown in the image under 3f. But it's a good question about what the other two options are. I may have known at one time, but it escapes me right now. I will look into it and will add info to the doc once I find out (may be a couple weeks since I'm away from my office compute).

Srisubrahmanya, i suggest you ask your question in Web AppBuilder Custom Widgets . If you use the advanced editor, you should be able to insert your formatted code so others can read and have a better chance if helping.
