Are you creating a tool (can be in a custom toolbox)? You can "add a script" as a new tool, and there is a tab you setting up you input parameters. That is how I typically do it for running in ArcMap or ArcCatalog. edit What is a script tool?—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop I like creating addin so it is easy for others to install. Extremely helpful if complex or many installs needed. Not available in Pro though, although the tools may still run with minor tweaks. re addins I have a blog/pts w tips somewhere can't find it right now.

It looks like the got marked as "assumed answered". Did you resolve it? If so, a quick summary might help. If not, you may want to uncheck it so it will get looked at again.

I see an error "... Template Feature Class: Dataset D:\data\csv_export est.shp does not exist Or us not supported..." in your first attempt to create the featureclass. My network is fine right now so can't test ...but are you using the tool dialog, or just trying to type it in. If you are using the tool, I would try those first, the copy the snippet from the results tab (if successful ) and try to modify that vide. It may be you are missing/skipping an input parameter.

Thanks Derek. I will contact our rep. I had already read thru and viewed the diagrams. Still confused on how to get ArcGIS Server and Image Server to talk to each other when they are on different servers (again, separate web adapters?). Maybe professional Services or tech support can clarify. It's not an evaluation we needs, but actual install and setup instructions, so maybe I'll start with tech support.

I think that is a rather broad question, and may be better suited as a discussion. I'm sure the nitty-gritty are proprietary, and others could answer this better than I can, but as I've read on one of rscheitlin posts, it is setup in a stem format (Robert would definately be able to state is better). It uses Node and JavaScript, and the connection to the "portal", from how I interpret it, is to some degree for licensing authorization. It also users the "map" and basemap, but since this can also come from local services and be semi overwritten in the developer edition code, that is, in my opinion, not the only reason for the connection to a "portal". my opinion only.

Henry, it helps if you post you code using tips /blogs/dan_patterson/2016/08/14/script-formatting?sr=search&searchId=75ece207-9a50-4ffd-8c5e-182bd0b476f8&searchIndex=1 This helps everyone to refer to the same line number, and also to see if the indentation is correct in your script. You can edit your post and the above comment to replace the code.

...and my 2 cents... I agree with not joining to an Excel and creating a FGDB table (like Dan_Patterson , my preference) or Access. As Ted Kowal mentioned, you need to figure out your rules first. If the feature class only have the numbers, and the Excel may or may not, I would add a temp field and calc that to equal the to the featureclass format and then match on that. Whether you populate this new field in Excel or the FGDB/Access table may depend on where you are more comfortable doing calculations, but you will want the field format to be the same once ready to join. One you get what you need, you can always delete this temp field (assuming you don't need a join anymore. If you need to make the join permanent, with all or a selected set of the fields, try using Join Field—Help | ArcGIS Desktop Joining attributes in one table to another—Help | ArcGIS Desktop the same rules of getting you join field to match will apply.

As Derek mentioned, for custom widgets for Web AppBuilder, you will want to use the Developer Edition. For deploying, look Deploy your app—Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS (Developer Edition) | ArcGIS for Developers For additional info on the Developer Edition, check out /blogs/myAlaskaGIS/2016/03/09/web-appbuilder-developer-edition-customization-resource-list?sr=search&searchId=f6631204-b350-4ac3-b0aa-5d9cfcd58269&searchIndex=0 and especially the /blogs/myAlaskaGIS/2017/03/04/web-appbuilder-the-custom-widgets-list-332017?sr=search&searchId=f6631204-b350-4ac3-b0aa-5d9cfcd58269&searchIndex=1 in case something has already been written.

I'm not sure if this will help as a work around, but there is a tool that will let you copy a service from one AGS install to another. It doesn't work for all types, but I have got it to work for many of our services (although just trial runs/tests, not production yet). I also modified our copy of the tool for our purposes. Check out this thread if interested. https://community.esri.com/message/647870-re-movecopy-services-to-another-service-directory

Chris, no need to re-post. Look at https://community.esri.com/docs/DOC-2258?sr=search&searchId=6e26feb7-5ea8-4dc7-b6a7-defc88e39f27&searchIndex=5 to move to a new location and use the @ and the space name to tag additional locations. You tend to get the same people looking and answering questions, so multiple posts just gets confusing. Since the one in the support doesn't have any responses yet, I would delete that and move this one over.

Our SDE is versioned. But we just keep the number of versions to a minimum. Only two of us access the SDE database direct for editing, etc. All other access thru a FGDB or thru services. For reasons that are probably not the same for your case, with my python scripts, I actually make a copy of the 3 "master" feature classes from our SDE database (from Default, after rec and post, etc) to a new FGDB, and then the rest of my scripting re-assigns all the domains (I have 25+), subtypes, etc., then creates new feature classes based on various query combinations that are easier for AGS and the non-GIS staff to use and understand (although they could access the full masters in the fgdb if needed). I also have a script the full simplify to shape files and .zip them up....these would be for public distribution. fwiw. edit: link to the class resources https://community.esri.com/docs/DOC-6974-implementing-versioning-workflows-in-a-multiuser-geodatabase-104-course-resources

You may want to try you post ( Moving Content ) to one of the spaces George mentioned above since htis is not really related to Online. Are there that many people editing the data at the same time? Or are there just a handful of users editing and the rest of are read only? Have you thought about replication (maybe two way if many editors...or one way for read only). Maybe not a version for each user, but at least one QAQC version that users edit so at least you have one "undo" spot if it it goes really wrong. Just some thoughts. Personally, we only have 2 users that do editing on our files (versioned, topology, archiving) and for all other users, we create copies of one-way replications....including for ArcGIS Server services. We do this about every 2-3 weeks, depending on the edits and only once they have been reconciled and posted, etc. Then I have a python addin that I use for the AGS prep, etc. But we are lucky that the services do not need to show changes instantly. In that case, our workflow may not work for you. EDIT: BTW - we add and delete our version (after R&P) often so we can compress and get back to state zero. If you havein'g taken the coure on working with multi-user databases (that's not quite the right name) or watched some tech sessions on it, I would recommend doing that. I can get the exact name of the course if needed (and there is a "resource list" for the class I think).
