but we are using proxied services. we keep getting 403 errors when arcgis.com tries to access our service through the proxy. are there any recommended techniques to get past this, or is the legend control not expected to work through a proxied service.

Is it possible to use the ESRI legend control (9.3.1 which uses arcgis.com) with proxied map services?

Hello, ESRI: can you confirm that LayerOption.all will not honor layers more than one group layer deep. Do I need to follow the same technique used to fix the .visble oversight? ie LayerIds.AddRange, but just make a list from 0 - max. Thanks,

2.2 seems to have cleared this up, (please note that the original post refers to build 2.1.0.427) 😄 Dave

Thanks for checking, Can you verify with a FeatrureLayer using OnDemand and a MaxResolution set (yes I was below this resolution when I first tryed to turn it on). <esri:FeatureLayer ID="FLWaterLines" Url="http://***/rest/services/GIS_App_ENG/MapServer/2"
FeatureSymbol="{StaticResource LineWaterBlue}" Mode="OnDemand" OutFields="*" MaximumResolution="3"
Visible="False" x:Name="FLWL" Where="WATERLINETYPE='WATERMAIN'"> <Button x:Name="MTWater"
Style="{StaticResource MenuItem}"
Content="Map Tip Water">
<i:Interaction.Triggers>
<i:EventTrigger EventName="Click">
<esriBehaviors:ToggleLayerAction LayerID="FLWaterLines" TargetName="MyMap"/>
</i:EventTrigger>
</i:Interaction.Triggers>
</Button> Thanks again

further, if I start with the Layer Visible = true, it turns off okay at first attempt. if I start with the Layer Visible = false, it won't turn on at first attempt until the map is panned.

okay I must officially be going crazy, I found this wonderful little action and low and behold, my layer only toggles on/off 1. after you pan the map, and/or 2. evertime after the first (no need to pan) anyone else have a similar issue? <Button x:Name="MTWater"
Style="{StaticResource MenuItem}"
Content="Map Tip Water">
<i:Interaction.Triggers>
<i:EventTrigger EventName="Click">
<esriBehaviors:ToggleLayerAction LayerID="FLWaterLines" TargetName="MyMap"/>

Hi, Overlapping features is not the culprit, in some places yes they do overlap, but the problem exists in non-overlap situations too. Completely seperate features, Maptips flash and don't allow anymovement inside. Am I getting too complex by putting buttons inside the MapTip? All three maptips are a different configuration.

Hi Jennifer and DanDan, Thanks for bringing this thread back to life. I have still not solved this issue, only ignored it for a few months. Here is all my xaml and xaml.cs, thought this would be easier than trying to pick out the issues. Like I mentioned from the top, I have three FeatureLayers: one polygon layer that is 'SelectionOnly' and two line features that are 'OnDemand' with a min resolution set. MapTipHideDelays sometime work, sometimes don't.... Any help will be appreciated, Dave

Okay, I will to copy (drag & drop) in ArcCatalog, my new set back to my old server. I just want to avoid having to create the rasters from scratch and using the 'create resater dataset' and 'load' procedures because that is what I have just spend the last week doing on my new box. I was hoping to just detach the ortho database in sql, reattach it to my old box and somehow have SDE recognize the data. Guess not... Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply, I have another possible solution that I would like to run by you. I have a new SQL/SDE server that I have rebuilt an ortho database (~200GB). I can't use the new box in a production environment yet, but the orthos are better in general due to renaming and better compression etc so......... on my old box (after copying and attaching the orthos to SQL) could I use some of the sdetable commands to properly remove all references to the old orthos and then re-register the new orthos? sdetable delete/create, unregister/register? is this a scenario to use those commands? Hello, I am using a 9.2 SDE running a 'multiple spatial database model'. (still using 9.2 due to an old MapObjects dependency) and I would like to change the names of these databases to something more logical. The names are old and don't make sense anymore. Is there a sde command that can rename the database in its internal tables. I've seen the sdetable -rename, but is there something similar for the source database? I can see the database_name field in a few different tables but would be apprehensive to fiddle with them directly. Thanks, Dave

Hi Jennifer, Unfortunately this was not the case. None of my features overlap at all, yet the MapTips do no play well together. They never all (3 feature layers) honor the HideDelay. Usually either my polygon layer works and the two line features don't or vise versa, but never all three. It think it has something to do with how they are initialized. My poygon layer is by selection, so it is tied to an editor, the line features are on demand, with scale dependency so each of the three layers are, by design, turning on and off quite frequently and hence, the delays are maybe not getting set? does that make sense?
