That is very good info to know about Pro capabilities. Just throwing out another option for downloading REST Service data: the Data Pillager (GitHub - gdherbert/DataPillager: Download data from Esri REST service ) toolbox tool that I wrote for precisely that purpose some years ago, and still update every now and then with new functionality and to address issues.

This is what I see when I open the layer file in Notepad, for a layer file created with arcpy.SaveToLayerFile_management with is_relative_path set to "RELATIVE". However I have just realized that the ". . \" does not always exist - it depends on where your data resides. However, a check for ": \" may identify an absolute path. This will probably require searching for the encoded values, which will look like b'\x00F' for example. I have no idea what the correct code for ':' would be though.

The only way I have found to identify if a layer file is relative - is to open it in Notepad (not Notepad++. Sublime or anything else, just Notepad) and search for ". . \" - spaces and all.

I would like the ability to open Pro and do something without having to create a project/toolbox/gdb/folder. Although I can set a default for those last items, there are times when I want a project/folder etc and plenty of times when I don't. And having a local default database runs the risk of user data being unavailable to others.

Follow up to this. I was able to replicate this behavior with a main WAB developer at the DevSummit. His thinking is that there seems to be a bug in the node.js in WAB. It only seems to affect Win 7. Running the WAB as a service solves the issue as the node version is different. A new WAB is due out soon, hopefully it will correct this issue.

Thanks Robert, I was really hoping this would solve it but I still have the same issue. The WAB crashes. I have a support call open, so will see if it can be resolved through that. The browser reports a ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

I am running WAB 2.2 fine on my local machine, but on at least two machines that also have it installed (and a third that I added 2.2 to), Node is crashing after trying to load jimu.js. The cmd window disappears and the following pops up. It manages to create a folder with the next numeric id, but that folder only contains a partially populated jimu.js folder (js files stop at DataManager.js, so no exportUtils.js onward), an empty themes folder and an empty widgets folder. [edit] Creating a 3D app works, but any 2D app fails (including default).

My understanding is that existing concurrent licenses will be honored going forward, but that Esri will not be offering them as a new license after a certain time. Source: Recent Esri partner presentation.

It would be great to be able to view more than Title, Type, Modified and Shared in the My Content area in AGOL. For example, credit usage (storage), url (for 3rd party tools and WAB connections especially) and last accessed would be a very useful. This would avoid having to go into individual items to determine their status.

I can't see how acknowledging the existence of an address would constitute an invasion of privacy. Allowed uses of addresses is a different matter.

I am assuming you have an AGOL organization account with a spare user seat available. Create a user in your organizational account and give them whatever permissions you like, eg reatrict them to just the map, limit edit ability etc, then provide the credentials to your client to access the map. This will keep it private. You may want to create a new role, the default Esri user role may be too permissive for your needs. You should not give them your administrative user credentials. If you do not have a spare user available, you could set up a proxy that uses your credentials and points at the map, but there is alwaus a chance they could navigate elsewhere.

Your user doesn't need their own AGOL account, you can provide them with a username and password from your organizational AGOL account.
