Hi Bruce, Nope. I'm looking to configure ArcGIS Online to use my internally hosted locator and to never use the premium locator provided with ArcGIS Online for batch geocoding. Thanks, tim

hmm. idea submitted in 2013. Not finding that it has been implemented in early 2018, I just voted it up as a representative of more people in my organization who want it, too. Distinctly unsatisfying way to reiterate the need for a fairly common capability... No indication as to whether or not this idea submission has been reviewed, ignored, added to product plan, scheduled, etc. tim

Support internal locators as geocoders for batch geocoding (i.e. not external only as presently documented - https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/reference/geocode.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_CD53FF34D6A54AB8880A3AE98F805F74) for ArcGIS Online subscription accounts that are signed in. The idea is to enable customers to use secured, protected locators within the ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise Portal component environments.

Support configuration (enable/don’t enable) of Esri World Geocoder “Allow geosearch” and “Allow batch geocoding” capabilities. This improvement would be used in conjunction with configuring ArcGIS Online and maybe ArcGIS Enterprise "portal" component for use with local locators that are not premium services that charge credits. The idea is to force the system to use the local locator and not to use the premium service.

Hi Gelcys! I agree... I'd like to see each account have a "credit wallet" that presents both the number of credits and the localized currency value. That might help organizations avoid having multiple meetings with multiple staff because employee #9 used (OMG) 100 credits... (it's just $10, so don't blow 8 staff hours on it). -tim

Example user stories: As a human who is using an Esri template-based application in his smartphone web browser, I would like to have the application open with my location zoomed on the map so that I can proceed directly toward obtaining information I need without having to mess around with finding and tapping the "zoom to my location" control. As an ArcGIS Online account holder who is configuring a template application, I would like to have configuration controls that would allow me to cause the app to zoom to a mobile device user's location when the user initializes the app. If all ArcGIS Online template applications that can be reasonably used on mobile devices had consistently implemented and documented configuration controls that could enable the two user stories above, then that would be proper. If this enhancement was first deployed to the Local Perspective app, then that would be quite nice. Item description: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=6e02b538bea841ed858ef9f52709b655

I have big honkin' notes in my Site Manager that say something a lot like: "Heads up! We have released ArcGIS Open Data 2.0 and are no longer actively developing the older version, 1.10. You are seeing this message because this is a 1.10 site. You will still be able to edit 1.10 sites, but no new features will be added and not all bugs will be resolved. Please consider upgrading your site to ArcGIS Open Data 2.0. " So, I can't find any way to consider upgrading to 2.0. No help documentation, no release information, no list of what changes from 1.10 to 2.0 and what the impacts will be to me as a provider, no testing suggestions. Nuthin' but an ominous "Upgrade to 2.0" button. For those of you who pressed the button, did rainbows come out and unicorns prance, or... something else? What I've tried: ArcGIS Open Data isn't showing anything on the Provider page: http://doc.arcgis.com/en/open-data/provider/prepare-your-data.htm > idk ArcGIS Open Data search finds this: http://doc.arcgis.com/search/?q=Upgrade%20Open%20Data%202.0&collection=help&product=arcgis-open-data&language=en > Esri says "0 result" Google found this: http://doc.arcgis.com/en/open-data/provider/upgrade-site-version.htm > Esri says "404" thx, tim

Thanks for sharing your observation Chris Mathers. I've noticed some potentially similar oddities in our Production and Publication pattern distributed geodatabase configuration and will have a more detailed look at it with your info in mind. We're using ArcGIS 10.3.1 with some patches and SQL Server 2012 (11.0.6523). Which ArcGIS version and database are you using? tim

Hi Stephanie Webb, Ideally, I'm looking for an Esri geodatabase implementation of the FGDC Real Property Asset Data Standard (RPADS, https://www.fgdc.gov/standards/projects/RPADS/index). Most ideally, I would be able to get an Esri XML Workspace document of just the schema. Alternatively, I'd love to see an example of a PostgreSQL/POSTGIS implementation, GDB or not. Did you ever find or build such a thing? Care to share? Cheers, tim

Hi Jeffrey, At Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), we have devised a specific approach to meeting this need. You may find our requirements and solution to be useful examples in your search. See the WA DSHS Geospatial Data Confidentiality Guidelines, section 6. Remote Geospatial Services for disposition and requirements. We have participated in the development and operational maintenance of the Washington Master Addressing Services (WAMAS) system and are using it as our solution. Cheers and good luck, tim

If all of your organization's requirements for a web mapping system are met by ArcGIS Online, then Portal for ArcGIS is redundant, very costly (staff time) to support, maintain and update, and out of sync with ArcGIS Online capabilities (delayed). tim
