Thanks for the additional information and screenshots, Miranda. A few more questions: Is this the only story where you are having this issue, or is it all of your stories on this portal? Could you load My Stories with the Chrome developer tools panel open to the Console tab and capture some screenshots like you did (before and after the issue) with the dev tools open?

Hi Katie, Looks like you were viewing your info in the Facebook developer tool using the "Show existing scrape information" button. Did you try the "Fetch new scrape information" button in that Facebook developer tool? That usually forces Facebook to refresh its cache of your thumbnail by fetching the current one from ArcGIS Online. Let me know if that works. Owen

Sure, no problem. Yes, this can be a very useful tool in your toolbox, but there is a risk of breaking your story or web map if you aren't careful... So just be careful playing when around in the JSON!! 🙂 Owen

Hi Sarah, You should be able to use a service from a GIS server in the same way as you'd use a service coming from ArcGIS Online. My suspicion is that you are running into a web security situation known as having mixed content. Essentially, your story map can't access HTTP content if you are accessing your story map app over HTTPS. Can you try adding the service to your web map using an https URL? If that doesn't work, are you able to share a link to your story here (or just with me in a private GeoNet message) so I can take a look? Owen

Hi Kate, You should be able to do this using the ArcGIS Online Assistant. Obviously, be very careful when editing the JSON. Sign in using your ArcGIS Online account. Find your story the left column. In the header choose I want to > View an item's JSON Click your story to view the JSON. In the right panel, scroll down to the Data section. I recommend COPYING the JSON before you edit, just in case something goes wrong. There's a button to do this. Click Edit (the pencil icon) to edit the JSON. Do a find and replace on your server name. Slick the Save icon to save changes. Load your story in another tab to see your updated story. The Admin tools from GeoJobe may do this as well. Owen

Hi Miranda, Sorry you are having an issue with your story maps. What is the specific error reported by My Stories? Are the layers that are giving you trouble coming from ArcGIS Online or an ArcGIS Server? If a server, is the server in your organization or located somewhere else? Is your portal publicly accessible? If so, could you send me a link to your story? (you can post here or send me a private GeoNet message). Owen

Hi Casey, Ok, gotcha. Unfortunately, Cascade doesn't support lists or tables at this time, but we are considering adding them in a future release. If you have structured text you want to include in your story your options at this time are to either 1) create and host a webpage with your information and add that to a sequential section by inserting Media using the "Link to Content" option, or 2) enter and format your information in a word processing app like MS Word, take a screenshot, and add that image to your Cascade story. It may help to work with your graphics department or someone with some design skills to create a table or infographic style display for your information. Owen

Hi Scott, Not at this time. We think covers work best as looping videos that give the audience a sense of your story rather than an "introduction" that has a beginning and an end; however, we have heard this request from a few other people, so we are considering adding it in a future release. If you have a video that you want your audience to watch in its entirety as an introduction to your story, I'd recommend adding it as an in-line video in the first sequential section of your story or possibly to an immersive section that immediately follows your cover. You'd then use an image (or other looping video) for your cover. Owen

Hi Jacob, Cascade doesn't support font size changes to immersive section titles at this time. While there aren't controls to select a specific font size for the narrative panel text, you can increase it to a larger size by clicking the formatting button to the left of the first line in the panel and choosing H2. Hope this is helpful. Owen

Hi Casey, Check out these "How To Cascade" stories, specifically the one on Multi-View Maps, for details about how to configure a web map differently in each view of an immersive section. https://community.esri.com/community/gis/web-gis/storymaps/blog/2016/06/23/how-to-cascade-sample-series To show a subset of features you'll need to do a little work in your web map first. Edit the web map in the arcgis.com map viewer, copy the layer as needed, and set up a filter on the copy to show just the features you want. (Make sure your layer is published as a feature service since filters aren't supported on feature collections.) Owen

Hi Joshua, For technical reasons, the ability to use custom HTML is available only in Map Journal. The EPA story is a Map Series with Map Journals (each with a single section) embedded in several of the tabs. They customized Map Journal to hide the header bar and hosted their modified version on their servers. For example, here is one of the Journals: https://geopub.epa.gov/CREAT1/index.html?appid=f629f537c1bc4b529e4f0487677930fe Owen
