Thanks again, Mike. Yes, we have that set up in a different environment and may explore those options here.

Thank you, Mike, for the reply. Yes, that's all understood. However, Jim is not part of the GIS Admin group so he cannot own the public view layer. That layer needs to be owned by GIS Admin. Yet, GIS Admin does not do the editing/updating on Jim's data, Jim does. We can write a script to update the GIS Admin layer from Jim's data (AGOL or otherwise). We currently have plenty of those in flight. A seamless solution like a view would be great. Wishful thinking, it appears.

Hi folks, We would like to lock down the View layer of a Feature Layer while allowing the customer full control of the original layer for editing purposes. Example: Jim (customer) owns the "Roads" Feature Layer, ownership is private. GIS Admin owns the "Roads view" layer, ownership is public. That way Jim can make edits to his layer as he pleases. This would update the View layer which is public and uneditable without us having to republish every time. Another way to put it: Is there a way that Jim can make edits to his Roads layer without us having to Overwrite or republish his layer to an "Admin" or "non-editable" layer every time Jim makes a edit/update? Simple problem, confusing to express. Thanks!

Please provide links to broken layers in Experience Builder and other web apps. Links to the Feature Layer source on AGOL. Similar to that in ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap before that. When a layer is broken, we often times do not know the source, as layers are renamed in the app per customer request or for legibility.

Yes, please add this. We have a very large application that is used for public permitting and application processes. The users of this app are public facing and need to find layers quickly. Thank you.

@KoryKramer Thanks for the info! But will we be able to apply this symbology to our AGOL hosted feature layers?

Hi John, We're still working on this, and I'm just now seeing your response. So thank you and apologies. I've been trying this, and I still can't get it to work. I was told this: To fix this you have to modify this line: nb_daccess = NotebookDataAccess(url=nb_da_url, gis=ago) to this: nb_daccess = NotebookDataAccess(url=nb_da_url[“url”], gis=ago) It worked, thanks!! I'm still confused as to what the ["url"] is. I thought it was the url of my notebook, so I put that in at first, of course that didn't work. When I changed it back to just ["url'], that worked.

Hi folks. We're attempting to move files from our local network to our AGOL Notebook "Files" location programmatically, using ArcGIS API for Python. It looks like the arcgis.gis.nb module may be the solution, using NotebookDataAccess. API reference here: https://developers.arcgis.com/python/api-reference/arcgis.gis.nb.html#notebookdataaccess In the end, I've got the Boolean to be "True" as in, it worked. However, when I go to my Notebook Files, nothing is there at "/arcgis/home". Here's what I have so far (working in Jupyter Notebooks): import arcgis.gis.nb import arcgis.gis.nb._dataaccess from arcgis.gis.nb._dataaccess import NotebookDataAccess import arcpy from arcgis.gis import GIS from arcgis.gis.nb import NotebookManager, Notebook, NotebookServer, _dataaccess gis = GIS('Home') # URL to the desired Notebook url = "https://levon.maps.arcgis.com/home/notebook/notebook.html?id=d693b3892c8747a892adxxxxxxxcb#" # path to the zipfile on our network zipfgdb = r"N:\gis\Levon\Sandbox\LIVE_TEST.zip" # test to see if I'm actually pinging AGOL Notebook nb_server = gis.notebook_server[0] nb_server # test to see if I'm accessing the correct notebook notebook_item = gis.content.get('d693b3892c8747a892xxxxxxxxx30cb') notebook_item # attempt to upload the zipfile from our network to Notebook /arcgis/home Files st_up = NotebookDataAccess(url, gis) st_up.upload(zipfgdb) Result: "True" So, it's saying True, as in it worked, but when I check, nothing is there. See below. Any help!? Be nice, I'm a intermediate/beginner! 🙂 We've been working on this for days, this is the closest we've gotten.

This is fantastic, Jake @JakeSkinner . Thank you!! Worked on the first try. I had/have a nasty Feature Class with dozens of domains and very complicated symbology (Feature Class came for an outside source). I tried using the FeatureSharingDraft class every way you can think of - and it was failing every time with a 999999 general function failure. I think this just might do the trick.

Hi, I am currently having the exact similar problem as "Problem 1" above. I can stay signed in when I enter my credentials by hand and check "Sign in Automatically". However, when I run my python script using arcpy.SignInToPortal(), it boots me. As in, the next time I try to open Pro, it asks for a sign again. I think this is affecting my script as well, I'm trying to publish to AGOL using the FeatureSharingDraft class. My script is failing at StageService_server. Anybody have any thoughts/advice? Thanks!
