I've added a click event to a GraphicsLayer that has graphics from X/Y locations unrelated to Feature Layers. However, I've noticed that it's only showing a single graphic at a time. I basically need to select multiple graphics within an extent. The QueryTask forces me to point to a URL of a Feature Layer. But I don't have a Feature Layer; I only have Graphics. What gives? How can I select multiple graphics from a single Graphicslayer when the user clicks on a map? Feel like I'm missing something simple here.

I've got an app using http://js.arcgis.com/3.7compact Occasionally I receive the following: Waiting for js.arcgis.com Then, after a minute or so, I get: Failed to load resource Then I get: Uncaught ReferenceError: dojo is not defined. So seems like occasionally the app doesnt load the ESRI JavaScript. Thoughts on how to fix this? I wonder if using a local copy of this might be in order? If so, what's the URL to grab the Compact version? Do other folks see this error as well?

Thanks Mike. Your posting is extremely helpful. So if I need to integrate edits into a server-side database, perform disconnected and connected edits, as well as run the application on a Windows Tablet, then, sounds like I HAVE TO USE the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for WPF? But, this doesnt include the ability to write back to the server, or, would I need to build a geoprocessing routine or something (ie., SOE) to get that done? I also saw that the iOS Runtime handles disconnected edits in Beta at the present time. Do you happen to know if the Android Runtime also handles Disconnected edits? (lets assume Tablet device type doesnt matter) Do you know when the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for .NET is due out, approximately? And that would be a Beta version, right? Hi, Currently for development Windows tablet and phone applications your options are: Tablet: ArcGIS Runtime SDK for WPF Phone: ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Windows Phone The WPF SDK can be used to build disconnected editing workflows based on File Geodatabases, but if you editing scenario requires integrating edits back into your enterprise geodatabase it is advisable to wait for the forthcoming ArcGIS Runtime SDK for .NET which supports development of apps for the Desktop, Store and Phone environments. The .NET SDK includes the new ArcGIS Runtime offline editing and synchronization capabilities. This new SDK will soon be made available as a beta with the initial full release planned for early summer 2014. Typically beta software does not provide you with a go-live license, therefore you can undertake your development with the beta version but will need to wait until the actual release in order to deploy. If you've started any development with the existing WPF SDK there are a few tips for migration on this thread: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/88329-The-history-and-future-of-the-ArcGIS-SDKs-for-.NET. Cheers Mike

I'm trying to understand if this SDK is supported on Windows Tablets and Phones at the present time? Can I put it in Production now, or do I need to wait till a later release in the Summer of 2014? Sorry, maybe I missed an obvious page describing this but I couldn't find it. Also, does it work well with disconnected editing now? On the geodatabase side of things, is a File GDB the way to go for disconnected edits? And, I'm assuming I might be able to utilize GPS capabilities to upload points to my GDB?

Excellent answer Rene. And feel free to "pimp". I loved your sample on Angular JS and am using Angular JS extensively for another project I'm working on. Appreciate it!

Hello Rene: I wonder if you might have any examples showing some of the ideas you discussed? It's been a few months since you left this message. Was the application successful? Thanks. Karen It's possible, but requires a little bit of elbow grease. You could basically check for a connection on each save or edit by using navigator.onLine. If false, you have no connection, and set up something to store the feature in LocalStorage. If true, push update as normal. You just need to add a notification of some sort letting user know they have data that needs to be synced when they get a connection back. Or you could do it under the hood without them knowing. You could use that method in conjunction with this sample on storing tiles in LocalStorage and be halfway there. https://developers.arcgis.com/en/javascript/jssamples/exp_webstorage.html Combine that with ApplicationCache if you can and be well on your way. I'm getting good results so far, but I have not hit the LocalStorage limit (maybe 5mb if lucky) (edit, spoke too soon. I was hitting limit, just forgot to check for it. I have a clear cache button now) and unless you are using IE9+ I don't think you can check what space is left, you'll just get an error when you run out, so I'm looking into modifying the Tile Storage slightly to add a date element or a 'viewed" count and eliminate the oldest/leaset used tiles to make room for more. One thing I have not tried yet is using IndexedDB to store features. Maybe once I get this off the ground first. I'm hoping to add disconnected editing tutorial into some stuff I am working on.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to append a Div (with a bunch of HTML) to an InfoWindow. I'm attaching InfoWindows to several different graphics layers. Each one has different formats for attributes. I'm using an onclick event to grab the attributes from the graphics, and insert it into a fairly fancy div. Now, I need the map/pan (extent-change event) to handle setting up the proper anchor with the graphic. Whats the best method to set this up?

To clarify and update my situation, for me the dojoClick fix resolves the issue where the infoWindow shows in the wrong place. This fix works on all devices. (I was wrong about the Kindle) But, I am still getting the click event firing twice on Android phones. It doesn't appear to be happening on iOS or Android tablets -- just phones. I fixed this by setting a variable, doInfoWindow, to true if I'm processing the first time the event fires. When the infowindow is done processing, I set it back to false. I then check this variable in my click event to make sure the Info Window code doesn't process twice.

I've been fighting with this problem, too. It persists in 3.7. The double-click doesn't happen on my Android tablets (4.1), just Android phones (2.3 and 4.1). It's pretty bad, because I am using dojox mobile Views. So, for example, when you select a basemap in the basemap gallery, the second event might fire right on the map zoom button, or show a popup infoWindow on the map! Any progress on a fix for this? Here's your fix: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/94963-Javascript-API-map-3.7-has-no-coordinates-when-handling-map-click?highlight=click+event+mappoint

I think the map OnClick event is broken when using the JavaScript 3.6compact version on smartphones. Add this to your Init function.. map.on("click", function (evt) { alert("onClick Event beginning. SHOULD ONLY HAPPEN ONCE.."); }); This happens twice when running it on my smartphone.

I have a georeferenced .tif file that I would like to overlay on my map. I was thinking that I would use the PictureFillSymbol for this, but it doesn't seem to work for .tif files. I could overlay .png files however. Has anyone gotten a .tif file to overlay? Is there possibly a better way to do this? We have thousands of images, so adding them to a map service is what I don't want to do. Thanks.

I had been using the JavaScript API 3.5 Compact version for a while now. All of a sudden, late last week, we noticed that it stopped working on Firefox. The regular API 3.5 version runs fine. I also noticed that the 3.4 Compact version didnt run, but the 3.2 Compact version runs. I just upgraded to 3.6compact version and it works fine on Firefox. Not sure what happened there, but I'm just letting folks know in case someone else runs into this problem. I had planned to test one of the ESRI samples to see if the problem exists there as well, but I noticed that the samples that I checked out have been upgraded to 3.6 (I didn't look at many to verify).

We've had some issues getting the pinch/zoom (touch gesture) functionality to work on Android devices (Samsung Galaxy Smartphones; ie., S3). I'm running JavaScript API 3.5. Even the ESRI HTML5/Mobile samples seem problematic on these devices. I can occasionally zoom in and out but not all the time. Is anyone else seeing similar issues? Ideas on how to fix the problem? We've tested on older IPhones and pinch/zoom works perfectly. I've also noticed that this functionality works great on IPads. Karen

Nope. Never did solve this. But since I am able to use Direct Connect to connect, I'm not worrying about this right now.
