Have you check the geodatabase connections to see if any users have connected to the geodatabase, closed all ArcGIS Pro clients with an sde connection to the geodatabase, services still running, etc? I have found in the past having ArcGIS Pro open with an sde file to the geodatabase can cause a lock. The way I run enable topology is via a python script and don't get any issues like this anymore

What is your actual use case? For the electricity distributor I work for, we only capture the LV service from the network to the block of land. We didn't care if it's a building/shed/whatever for the UNM. Our Customer/Metering application has that information. Our LV service finishes at an Electric Device (Low Connection Point) which has a unique identifier and the customer system uses that id for integration/reporting to determine where a customer is connected to the network and the UNM uses it in tracing to see which/how many customers are being supplied by that part of the network. The other reason to not go down to that level with the customer is because some of it is customer owned and could change at any time and don't want to waste time with changes at that level.

Roma, I believe it's one UN with multiple domains. I have implemented a UN with Electric & Communication domain along with the single structure domain. We have attachment associations to show which wire is attached to a crossarms (Structure Junction) which is attached to a pole (Structure Junction) I assume your vault is probably going to be a Structure Boundary showing the size/shape and your water equipment will be contained (containment association) in it? Good luck with your implementation

Thanks for the reply but this isn't what I was after. From above, I've already mentioned above that url and it requires a token (signed in) to be used so not really suitable with a ALB, etc and I have already accepted a solution.

Jonathan, I did have the security patch installed which was out on the 6th July 2023 and just saw the notice from 2 days ago about the bug. Thanks for the information. Looks like I'm sitting back until it's released. Thanks

Mike, This solved my issue. I had 11 'from' & 16 'to' associations which either or both related features that didn't exist in the domain feature classes. Once removed, I re-ran the enable topology process and it did complete in 22hours on our little AWS SQL Server RDS Thanks again for the information

Jonathan, I originally did have both portal machines in the ALB target group but the machine with the secondary database kept failing requests so that's the reason I removed it from the target group and asked this question as i thought portal ha ran as active/failover. Now that I have a better understanding of Portal HA, I need to investigate why the second portal machine isn't processing requests, etc.

Mark, We haven't used any OOTB web tools as they weren't available to us at the time of implementation. Our GP service uses the VersionManagement REST API endpoint associated with the UN Feature Service to do the work relating to reconcile, check for conflicts and posting. The GP service for posting to default is generic as it will handle any branch versioned dataset because the Feature Service url is passed in as a parameter and the VersionManagement endpoint is derived from that, etc.

Hi there, I have a UNM V3 electric & comms networks on ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 + UN Patch 10 with SQL Server 2017 AWS RDS. The electric model needs to be changed to add a new Asset Type for Electric Device. At the moment, I am testing the amount of time it takes to disable & enable topology in a non PRD environment in preparation for a PRD release. Disable topology has worked. Started on the Enable Topology but now getting this Error 160587: Null geometries not allowed after 52hours running. I have ran a bunch of SQL over the database to see what null geoms are present in Default (Branch ID=0) across all 3 domains and haven't found any. The python i'm running is arcpy.un.EnableNetworkTopology(un, 1000000, "ENABLE_TOPO") on an EC2 with ArcGIS Pro 2.9.8 installed on Win Server 2016 Datacentre. There is plenty of disc space free (approx 180Gb). UN properties are UNM 3, ArcGIS Pro release 2.5 & Upgraded is blank. Has anybody come across this error before? Thanks

Hi @NoahMayer Thanks for the information. I can ping both machines healthCheck endpoint and get a {"status":"success"} response returned. Some information relating to your points that I will double check again 1. Portal is running with a local windows account on each machine which has the same name and permissions. We don't really have AD setup in AWS but a little weight version was. This is for FSx file share to host the portal content directory for each machine. A drive is mapped with the credentials to allow machine access to the file share. 2. We followed the portal numbers from Ports used by Portal for ArcGIS—ArcGIS Enterprise | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise when setting up the security group for intra-machine comms 3. Are you able to point me in the right direction on how to do this. I did this many moons ago and can't remember where to look. 4. Same as 3 please. 5. I will if the above doesn't pan out. Thanks again for your help on this matter.

Hi @rshihab I sure did. We used https://portal-sbx.domain.com/arcgis and we have a Route 53 entry that resolves it to the ALB with a rule to forward to the specified target group which is configured with the static IP address attached to the EC2 instance The other ALB & Route 53 configurations we have are https://hosting-sbx.domain.com/arcgis, https://gp-sbx.domain.com/arcgis, https://un-sbx.domain.com/arcgis & https://map-sbx.domain.com/arcgis server sites. These are federated with Portal and work as expected

Noah, I’m a little confused with Portal HA. I have 2 EC2s in AWS with an ALB for portal setup. Followed the steps in https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/configuring-a-highly-available-portal.htm and the status of the machines using portaladmin url is primary/standby. Any request to the alb for portal works if it’s directed to the machine with status of primary. Reading the documentation in the url suggestions traffic is distributed between both machines and in my case it only works on the primary. At the moment, I have the standby up and running but removed from the target group of alb and rules. I must be missing a configuration somewhere. ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1 installed. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated as I was trying to find out how an alb could ping the statuses of the machines without a token to determine how to route the traffic to only the primary machine. thanks

Hi there, I have an ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1 environment with Portal in HA inside AWS behind an ALB. My ALB routing for Portal is currently set to ONLY go to 1 machine (currently the primary) as defined by the target group in AWS. The reason for this setup is because I can't find a url that doesn't tell me the status of each machine to see who is primary or standby that doesn't require a token. I can't use the healthCheck endpoint as both machines will return {"status": "success"} as they are both functioning correctly. This url requires a token https://<portal alb>/arcgis/portaladmin/machines/<portal machine>?f=pjson to work but gives me the information I need. Has anybody come across this or come up with a workable solution? Thanks
