Hi there, As AWS Postgres Aurora works, is there any guidelines on the configuration of the min & max ACUs? I know this is subjective due to the number of service metrics, etc but as a guide based on the data disc space requirements "Allocate at least 100 GB of storage for enterprise GIS implementations with up to 1,000 ArcGIS web services. This provides enough storage space to monitor the implementation for a period of one year" but wondering what specs the postgres db would require to support this? It's roughly 1ACU is approx. 2Gb db RAM with CPU & networking Thanks for any help with this

Simply it’s the model. When you publish the service set the Z default to 0 as per the doco and then you don’t have to worry about it. All you need to do is to ensure everything is separated enough in XY. good luck

Hi there, I was wondering if there was any links to best practices/tips in managing subnetworks? Found this blog The Life Cycle of Subnetwork in Utility Network by Hussein Nasser which is a good starting pointing but I'm after something with more detailed information. The parts I'm looking for is around the renaming & deleting of a subnetwork when DEFAULT is protected. With renaming of a subnetwork, the subnetwork controller for that subnetwork would be modified (disabled first), changes made and then a new controller configured against (enable). What needs to be done next? The old subnetwork needs to be delete. Its old subnetwork controller is tagged for deleting in the subnetworks table (layer 500002). The export subnetwork rest api has the ack flag set as false by default and the gp tool doesn't this parameter exposed. Version differences in ArcGIS Pro doesn't show the changes done to subnetwork controllers but the changes are versioned managed. Are we meant to build out tools to query the subnetworks table (layer 500002) by version to detected and so on. It would be nice if something was documented in how all of this is really meant to work with the tools/framework provided by Esri Inc. I shall stop rambling on now. Thanks for any help with this

It's only 1 way comms from Utility Network to PowerFactory. It's a 3rd party tool we purchased from Similix (Esri Partner). Basically, there are 2 parts, the Designer (CIM mappings) and the Adaptor. Designer - You build your mappings from your UtilityNetwork Model. This can be a lot of work depending on how custom your UNM is. In my case, our UNM is totally custom as the North American electrical model of UNM doesn't meet the needs here in Australia. Adaptor - Runs as a service connecting to your UtilityNetwork. It uses OOTB REST API calls to the UN to extract the subnetwork information and maps it accordingly to your CIM mapping file into the standard XML format to be consumed into PowerFactory. Sorry I can't tell you how it works inside of PowerFactory.

I found Copy & Paste doesn't work between two Enterprise geodatabases. Maybe it was due to a few invalid records (eg. orphaned/duplicated associations) that prevented it from working. I have migrated an Electric & Telco UN using the asset package method. It had approx. 14M assets with 24M associations. It was from AWS SQL Server 2017 RDS to HANA 2 SP05. As @JohnAlsup mentioned above, the network data/information needs to be in good shape before it can be loaded using this method

Matthew, This is definitely feasible. As you iterate over each record, you are extracting the last 4 characters from the 'DISTRICT' field and then updating the 'YR_INST' field with that data. You may need to typecast the year value to a number if the datatype of the 'YR_INST' field isn't a string. Good luck

Hi there, Does anybody know how many threads are being used by a map while panning, zooming, etc when retrieving features from the available services defined in the content page for the map? basically I’m trying to see how many ArcSOCs/instances I need to define when publishing a service. My example is with the Utility Network that has 2 domains and when configured in the content pane using subtype layers, a single pan in the map generates 27 rest calls to the service. If the map utilises 2 threads (14 parallel calls made) with 10 concurrent users, I’ll need 20 instances/socs for the service to minimise any wait times, etc for the user. thanks for any help with this

Have you check the geodatabase connections to see if any users have connected to the geodatabase, closed all ArcGIS Pro clients with an sde connection to the geodatabase, services still running, etc? I have found in the past having ArcGIS Pro open with an sde file to the geodatabase can cause a lock. The way I run enable topology is via a python script and don't get any issues like this anymore

What is your actual use case? For the electricity distributor I work for, we only capture the LV service from the network to the block of land. We didn't care if it's a building/shed/whatever for the UNM. Our Customer/Metering application has that information. Our LV service finishes at an Electric Device (Low Connection Point) which has a unique identifier and the customer system uses that id for integration/reporting to determine where a customer is connected to the network and the UNM uses it in tracing to see which/how many customers are being supplied by that part of the network. The other reason to not go down to that level with the customer is because some of it is customer owned and could change at any time and don't want to waste time with changes at that level.

Roma, I believe it's one UN with multiple domains. I have implemented a UN with Electric & Communication domain along with the single structure domain. We have attachment associations to show which wire is attached to a crossarms (Structure Junction) which is attached to a pole (Structure Junction) I assume your vault is probably going to be a Structure Boundary showing the size/shape and your water equipment will be contained (containment association) in it? Good luck with your implementation

Thanks for the reply but this isn't what I was after. From above, I've already mentioned above that url and it requires a token (signed in) to be used so not really suitable with a ALB, etc and I have already accepted a solution.
