John, Thanks for the clarification around the use in the Editor map. This is just using the standard method of renaming/alias a field. I was interpreting the comma delimited string in the alias field as a form of configuration that when the pop-up opens, it was parsing this to work out which value to use as the alias for the given subtype based on sequence. If this isn't done, we will see a massive label for the field as defined above. Thanks again

John, Can you please clarify the 'alias' part for me regarding the reuse of a field. I've seen values in the field's alias column which are comma delimited. Does this represent the various alias for the different asset group based on their sequence in the Subtypes editor? Thanks

This is an excellent idea and also to include a way to select a feature as part of the debugging to allow the developer to test various scenarios to ensure the logic is correct

Michael, Thankyou for clarifying this. I assumed at the moment workflow to add data to these related tables is just the standard workflow to add data to any related table that might exist with an geodatabase. If we wanted a more integrated solution then the utility/partner will implement their own tool to satisfy their own requirements. Thanks again

Michael, Excellent news on the enhancements. Are you able to elaborate on Item 1? Trying to understanding if there are any implications if an utility decides to implement their own asset group/asset type configuration. I’m not familiar with the concept of ‘feeder feed feeders’ in the distribution tier. Also, Item 4 - Additional tables/classes for inspections, etc. I assume this will be similar to the WireData, etc. and can be implemented whenever the utility decides as its not truely part of the UNF. Thanks

Michael, I was assuming this was the case. Thank you for the confirmation. Do you suggest a starting point when it comes to the pixel size? I know SVG scale so it probably just depends on the fine detail I'm trying to achieve in the symbol which may/may not be able to be seen at the finished size on the layer symbology. Thanks

In the Benefits of the Electric Utility Network Foundation it talks about the included maps contain symbology optimised for use across the ArcGIS platform. Can anybody please elaborate on this? I'm trying to find out how the symbols were created and their associated parameters (eg. max size - 256 x 256px, 32bit colour, transparent background, no colour gradients, save as/export format - SVG, EMF, imported into stylx file as marker symbol, suitable applications to use - Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator, GIMP) Thank you for anytime with this.

Edward, I found this the other day. Not sure if you are still looking around Utilities Styles or you get the symbols from the latest UNF pro project

Paul, I just wanted our come back to this as I was reading the release notes for V3 again. The release notes state ‘The current data model includes the following new related tables’ to me means these should be created as part of the ‘add network domain’ process for the Utility Network Foundation. Should the release notes be revised to remove or update to reflect these are from a use case and shows how capabilities can be introduced? Thanks

Hi Dionisio, In the organisation I work for, I have done the exact same thing as Derek has mentioned. We receive GPS coordinates, speed, etc from the digital radios installed in vehicles. This data is stored in Oracle Spatial RDBMS. I created a query layer in ArcGIS Desktop and published as a map services. The service is added to a map with the refresh interval set to 1 minute and we can see the cars move around the map. Our symbol of the cars is based on an attribute which can determined if they are moved or stationary (eg. red=moving, green=stopped) Good luck for your data

Kory, I have seen this page before. To me it seems a little general in information. It would have nice to include what parts are supported when it comes to the sections of what has limited support (eg. gradients), etc. especially when the Tiny SVG 1.2 documentation is over 450 pages in length. Is there a way to find out what software Esri Inc use to create the symbols within their stylx files? I have been looking at the Utilities_en located in Esri Styles And these from the Utility Network Foundation maps I would have thought there would some form of the documentation/how-to guide to ensure correct software to be used, symbology to be consistent, perform well, ensure to be imported correctly, etc.

Hi there, Does anybody know if there is information on best practices or maximum limits on how to create/design a SVG to be used to import for Shape Marker in the Style file within ArcGIS Pro 2.4? I was hoping for some of the information would be around Use an application like Adobe Illustrator, GIMP, Inkscape, etc. to create your files Size no greater than 96 x 96px, etc Only use 32bit colour Background generally should be 'Transparent' Don't use colour gradient fills Here is an example of setting to enter when creating a new image with GIMP Thanks

Paul, Thanks for the information. I should have added in the title relating to the Add Domain Network gp tool as well like I did in the main body of the question. As the tables are not created as part of the standard UN tool set, I'll be treating these as user-defined tables and not necessary for the UNF when the domain network is for the Electricity industry. It's good to know that we can add as many tables & relationship classes to the UNF to extend its capability and remove any when the new models come out unless stated otherwise. Thanks
