@DanielFox1 Thanks. Do you get the sense people usually leave rasters out of the legend, since the bit gradient isn’t very useful in terms if interpreting the map and knowing what a given raster color/value represents?

ArcGIS Pro 3.4.2 A while back, I made a map that had a greyscale Lidar DTM raster in it, and included the Lidar layer in the legend. When I look back at the map, I'm wondering if the 0-255 label in the legend is perhaps not very useful. Does 0-255 pertain to color values, not elevation values? Would it have better to somehow show what colors pertain to corresponding elevations? What's the proper way to show a Lidar raster in a legend? Or is it better to leave it out of the legend? It’s been roughly 10-15 years since I made a proper PDF map, so I’m rusty.

@JamesRains You could submit a separate idea for the search thing. It’d be more likely to get implemented that way.

ArcGIS Pro 3.4.2 Regarding Map Properties > Modify Projected Coordinate System: The dialog has a cancel button. But I think it would be more intuitive if it had an X in the top right corner of the dialog too.

ArcGIS Pro 3.4.2 Export Map > Save Preset > Location When typing the path, if the user hits enter, it should apply & close the dialog, not insert a line break into the path text. I don't think a line break has any use in this scenario.

ArcGIS Pro 3.4.2 I've created a layout, created a map frame, and activated the map frame. Now I want to zoom into the map using the right-click-drag zoom functionality. I'm working at a scale of 1:5,000. It's difficult to make fine-tune adjustments to the scale, such as from 5,000 to 5,315, using the mouse right-click-drag functionality. It's too sensitive; the scale changes too quickly. Could the mouse sensitivity be reduced in this case? I'm aware that I can manually enter a scale number using the keyboard. That works for large scale changes, but right-click-drag is preferred for fine tuning.

It would be similar to how the Map Properties > Rotation parameter works. Hit enter twice to apply.

ArcGIS Pro 3.4.2 Scenario: Manually adjust label class parameter value via typing with the keyboard, such as setting the Symbol > Callout > Line width to a decimal of 0.75 pt. Idea: After typing 0.75, hit the enter key once or twice to apply the change.

Thanks for your reply @JonathanNeal. we recommend persisting your data before you do analysis In other words, Esri recommends making a copy of the enterprise geodatabase data to a file geodatabase each time we use it. In my opinion, that’s not acceptable in the age of enterprise systems. But it sounds like we have no other option. Other than the obvious issues with copying the data to a FGDB, such as: working with out-of-date data, editing concurrent users version control, schema changes can’t directly use the data elsewhere, such as in Excel Idea: Access FGDB data dynamically from Excel …another issue (e.) is that FGDB SQL is too limited to be useful to us; I have many Esri posts on this topic. (And mobile geodatabases aren’t mature enough in Pro so are still buggy; FGDBs are generally known to be more reliable. Mobile geodatabases suffer from issues a-d above as well.) If copying EGDB data to an FGDB every time we use it is ESRI’s recommended workflow, then I think Esri has some work to do: address the issues in the original post above as well as d) and e) in this comment. I appreciate your input, but also, as longtime paying customers, we are getting are getting quite frustrated.

@CraigWilliams Please change this idea to Open so we can upvote it. Here's an example: I want the line's label to be oriented the same as the text in the georeferenced image. The line direction is from top (start node) to bottom (end node). But I don't think the line direction matters in this case. I want the label to be rotated 180 degrees. Kudo an idea where the status is Needs Clarification

ArcGIS Pro 3.4.2 When editing a cell value in the attribute table, it would be great if there were a picklist in the attribute table that would insert common symbols into the cell text. For example, the degrees symbol. I'm aware that there are Windows keyboard shortcuts for symbols: Type the Degree Symbol like a GIS Pro. I think it would be more reasonable to get users to click a button compared to memorizing numeric keyboard shortcuts.

ArcGIS Pro 3.4.2 I have a layer in the Contents pane (List By Drawing Order tab) that is not selectable in the List By Selection tab. I want to easily make the layer selectable, while preserving other selectable layers, by right-clicking the Contents List By Drawing Order tab layer and choosing a new "Make Layer Selectable" option from the Selection context-menu section. I'm aware that if the layer is highlighted(has focus) in the Contents List By Drawing Order tab, then it will be automatically highlighted(has focus) in the List By Selection tab. That's useful, but I would rather make the layer selectable using the idea I described. I think that would be most intuitive for non-experts.

ArcGIS Pro 3.4.2; file geodatabase Symbology Pane: Classes > Value and Label fields or Add Unlisted Values When I hover over a Value or Label cell, nothing happens. I would like to hover my mouse over long text values to see the full value in a tooltip. For example, in Add Unlisted Values: Otherwise, since the value is so long, I'd need to: Expand the pane to half the size of the screen, Resize the columns to see the full value, And then resize the columns again so that they're smaller and can be properly viewed when I resize the pane back to normal. That process is awkward. I'd rather hover over a cell to see the full text value.
