I love the popup design capabilities in the new web map viewer. I think one thing that would make it even better would be the ability to make elements collapsible. This way, users can expand or collapse elements to make it easier to see the information that they are looking for.

I really like how you can configure the forms in Field Maps with attribute groups and conditional visibility. I would love to see this functionality available in the basic popups for web maps and Field Maps, not just in the editing dialog. The new web map viewer allows you to control the order of fields easily, which is a step in the right direction, but grouping would be incredibly helpful. This functionality would give map designers much more flexibility in how information is displayed to end users in the office and in the field.

Looks like I've answered my own question here: Upon inspecting what link comes out the other side where the image should be, I discovered the ampersands were getting replaced. Using URLEncode() on the whole link doesn't work, but I discovered I can just build a location string from address, street, town, and state, or from lat and long, and URLEncode() that. Then, I add the base URL as plain text to the URL box, with the expression inserted after "&location=".

Hello, all. I'm experimenting with adding Google Street View images to feature popups in the new map viewer in Enterprise 10.9.1. What I want to do is use an Arcade expression to build the api link using either the feature's coordinates or the address (if it has one). I can get Arcade to build the URL, but it doesn't bring anything in if I use that expression for the image URL. However, if I copy that same URL and put it in the URL box as text (rather than as from an expresssion), it works just fine. Is there a special workaround I need to get the calculated URL working properly?

Unfortunately, I haven't. In the end I decided that for the number of users I have licenses assigned to, it will be easy enough to just manually unassign licenses and assign them to the new users after the notebook runs.

I did have the time format enabled, but it wasn't showing. I ended up installing the Field Maps web app and tinkering with the form. It's essentially showing what I had before, but time editing is available now.

Hello, Our field crews are reporting that they are unable to edit the time portion of a date field in Field Maps. I am able to replicate this on my device, but I can edit the same field on the online map viewer. The layer in question is a Feature Service referencing data in an Enterprise Geodatabase. I'm using Portal 10.8.1 and Field Maps 21.3.1 (Android). I do not currently have the Field Maps app installed to the Portal. Is there a configuration that I'm missing somwhere, or is this the standard behavior?

Thanks for this! This will save me a lot of time. As an FYI for others stumbling on this post, I discovered that if you filter your users by the custom role of interest, the ID will show in the URL bar:

I'm working on a notebook to migrate our organization's enterprise usernames over to email addresses (to facilitate Azure single sign-on). I have most of the kinks worked out, but the one thing I haven't been able to automate just yet is the licensing. I can't delete any users that have licenses assigned, and I want to assign the same licenses to the replacement username. My problem is that the license manager seems to think I don't have any licenses. However, when I go through the Portal GUI, I can see that I have licenses available and assigned for Pro, Insights, etc. Here's an example of what I get when I try license.all() or license.get(): And here's what I get when I pull the provisions property for a user with Pro and Insights: Does anyone have any thoughts? This is my first time working with the license manager, so it's entirely possible I've missed something obvious.

No worries! Like I said, I wasn't sure if I had understood you properly. As for connections, I'm creating the new database connection in the Catalog pane of the project using Database Authentication. No special characters, and this is the only connection with this name. I've even tried importing the same connection file that is working in ArcGIS Desktop, but no dice.

Unless I'm misunderstanding your question, I believe I covered most of that in my original post (except I forgot to specify everything is SQL Server 2017 before). All the machines involved are running Windows Server 2016.

I'm encountering an odd issue with one particular SQL Server database. This database is not managed by me, it is for another application, but I have read access to a handful of tables in the DB. I can connect to the database just fine from ArcGIS Desktop and SQL Server Client, but if I attempt to connect to the same database from Pro using the same credentials on the same machine, it fails. The general error message is that a database connection exception has occurred: I don't have this issue with any of our other databases. The only difference I've noted from the DBs that I don't have this issue with is that it lives on a different server machine. Both machines are running SQL Server 17. I asked IT to check the logs on that machine, and it doesn't seem to register the connection attempt, or at least not register an error. I also asked them to confirm that the DB user has the correct permissions, which it does. I've also made sure to download the latest 64-bit ODBC driver and tried moving it before the 32 bit version in the PATH variable, but no luck yet. Has anyone encountered an issue like this before?

Did you ever come up with a solution? We're going through this process now and running into pretty much the same issue. Our existing Enterprise users are all in the format doej@domain (or domain\\doej), but Azure sends the username as john.doe@domain.com If we allow users to create an account without invitation, they are able to login, but it creates a brand new username. If push comes to shove, we can just get rid of all the old users and add new ones, but it would be nice if we can avoid that.

Thanks for pointing me in that direction. The trim history tool looked promising, but both items are versioned as well.
