Our GIS Team at the City of Grand Junction heavily relies on replication to manage our SDE data. The new attribute rules in ArcGIS Pro offer powerful functionality that could greatly enhance our workflows. However, the lack of compatibility with geodatabase replication presents a significant barrier for us. Replication is crucial for distributing GIS data, supporting legacy systems, and integrating with third-party applications like 911 systems and asset management tools. Without replication support, we cannot fully transition to using attribute rules. We strongly urge ESRI to consider adding compatibility between attribute rules and geodatabase replication to enable a seamless transition and maximize the potential of these new features.

If I understand your idea correctly, you can accomplish this with a two-step process: First, using the Feature to Point tool, check the "Inside" option to make sure that the resulting points are not the centroid of the polygon but are within the polygon. Second use the newly exported point features to complete your select by location. I agree with you that having another "Have their center in" option where the center is inside each polygon, even when the centroid is outside the polygon would be ideal and would make this a one step process! Maybe it could be called "Have their center in (inside)"

Currently, when using the Spatial Join geoprocessing tool, there is only one match option for matching centroids of features, which is "Have their Center In". The opposite is needed for when joining many small polygons to fewer larger polygons that they are within the large polygons. This could be called "Contains the center point of." Scenario: Target features are districts, and join features are properties within those districts. We'd like to do a spatial join to roll up statistics from the parcels into the districts. The "Have their center in" match option won't work because it will only join items where the centroid of the district is inside the smaller parcel. Intersects won't work because if there are parcels around the district boundary that slightly touch the district, they will be counted in the statistics when they shouldn't be. Contains and completely contains won't work because parcels that are partially within the district but have portions outside won't be counted. In this case, a new match option "Contains the center point of" could accomplish this goal. Currently a workaround requires doing a Feature to Point geoprocessing tool on the parcel polygon first, creating a centroids feature class, and then doing a spatial join with the parcel centroid points as the join featureclass, and the districts as the target featureclass, with the match option set to "Contains." This accomplishes the goal, but requires two steps and isn't intuitive to users.

Awesome - we did not know about that checkbox - I took a look and found it. It was unchecked so I turned it on - we will test out with collector and see if that fixes our issue! Thank you!

Thank you! The part we've had trouble with is making sure the vector tile is offline capable, is there documentation on how to set that up? When we added a vector tile to our map as an operational layer, it removed the offline capability of the map.

Is it possible to use a raster and vector tile layer in the new Collector at the same time? In the old version of collector, we would make tile packages of the aerial imagery with vector features included (roads, percels, etc.) and side load them. Now that vector tiles are available, we also have vector tile packages for our vector data, and in web maps we just put the raster aerial imagery and vector layers together. Can we do this in the new collector? This would allow the vector tiles to be updated separately from the aerial imagery -- much faster and more efficient as we only get new aerial imagery every other year, but we update our vectors as often as every day. I've seen where we can specify a tile package that is side loaded, but it only lets us pick one, a vector OR a raster, not both at once. If we try to add the vector tiles to the web map, then it no longer allows us to take it offline. Is there some other way that we haven't found yet? Thank you!

I wanted to revisit this - ESRI logged this as a bug (#BUG-000125329) in Pro 2.4 and has fixed the issue as of 2.6 so it no longer occurs. If you are still on 2.4, there is a workaround provided by ESRI Tech support: Set the river placement setting from the label class pane. Right-click the layer from the Content pane and select Labeling Properties. Set up all the label setting from the pane. I tested this workaround and it did work properly.

I have this same question - I'm trying to add a non-spatial SQL table to a dashboard. How do I share the table as a service in pro? The only way I've found is to make it a hosted table, but that makes the data static. I've added it to a map as a query layer, can I publish it without having other map data in my map? If I try to publish it as a web map from pro to portal - it publishes, but the table is just dropped. If I try to publish it as a web layer - it gives me an error "Map does not have layers" If I try to publish it as a table directly, it only gives me the option to share it as a hosted table. How do I publish it as a registered table so that I can add it to my dashboard?

This is the first thing EVERYONE who looks at any of our dashboards says "Why don't the pie chart slices match the map colors?" or "Why don't the <insert widget here> colors match <insert other widget> colors?". In a few of the dashboards I've made, I've taken the time to go set every single color in each widget to match each-other, and to match the web map layer colors, but it's a pain and takes a long time if there are more than a few categories - and lets face it GIS data often has a ton of categories! When ESRI is promoting the message that dashboards are easy to set up, and you can make one in 15 minutes - it would hugely help this message to become more of a reality if this feature was added.

You're correct - per your suggestion, we ignored that the button wasn't there, and set up the Collector map, and attachments were enabled auto-magically. Thanks for the tip! (we didn't see them until we re-created the collector map once attachments were enabled in the geodatabase.)

We are publishing a feature service to Portal (10.7.1) from Pro (2.4) for use with collector, and we'd like to enable feature attachments so that a photo can be taken in the field. We have enabled attachments in the enterprise geodatabase, and they are working in Pro (we can add an attachment just fine via pro). When we publish to a feature service, however, the feature service is missing the button "Enable attachments". It's a little frustrating as all of the ESRI help just says "click the Enable attachments button" but doesn't say what to do if there isn't an enable attachments button. What ESRI wants me to do: What I see: Any ideas? Thank you!

We've had a vector basemap that we create vector tiles for using Pro, and have for several versions. When we upgraded from 2.3 to 2.4, it broke the label placement in our vector tiles on our river polygons. They look fine in the Pro map, but when we build the vector tiles they come out straight, rather than following the river polygon. (see attachments for examples) Does anyone know of a workaround for this until ESRI can get it fixed?
