Hi Will, thanks for your response. I first tried to recreate the config-store-connection.xml file, but at service restart it disappear again. Also Configure ArcGIS Server Account process dont resolve the problem. I've solved using the Solution B on this post Error: Failed to create the site. Failed to create the service 'System/CachingTools.GPServer' Recreating a new site after a backup of original folders, and replace with bacup folders as described at 11 and 12 item list. I couldn't figure out if the problem originated from the 4.8 framework, but in fact I found web adaptor not configured. I hope this will help other users. Thanks!

Nicolas, Have you recently installed a windows update? .net framework 4.8 in particular? I'm in the same situation: ArcGIS 10.6 and Win server 2012 R2 installed... unlike your case to me the file config-store-connection.xml is missing and once restored disappears again. if you have any suggestions are welcome

Hello, everyone, can you tell me where to find the spatial references used by ArcGIS Enterprise? Can I add my own PRJ file to use the Project function via rest? It's hard to find supporting documentation. Thank you in advance!

First of all, thanks for your feedback on this. It seems like it didn't work, but I've never experienced that on my end. Does your machine have multiple NICs? I am not sure about it, I need to check. Anyway, I absolutely don't wanna sound polemical, so keep my following words as my thoughts and as a constructive criticism. All of the things you justly pointed out are completely right and useful, and I appreciate your answer, but i really think they should be clearly stated somewhere as a prerequisite or an Important note/Warning in the official docs (Welcome to the ArcGIS Enterprise Builder installation guide—ArcGIS Enterprise Builder Installation Guide | ArcGIS Enterp… ). Many other people (myself included) might otherwise be thinking that Builder is an easy sort of one-click installer that is supposed to do all the magic of the installation process, network aspects included. This does not clearly see the case, especially when you come up with a configuration that once is up, is super hard (if not impossible) to adjust. Also, as the Web Adaptor is one of the components included in the Builder installation, i don't understand the need to have another web adaptor or reverse proxy to send requests to the backend servers.

In addition, i found an interesting folder (C:\ProgramData\ArcGISBuilder10.7.1)with the AGE Builder logs, with the Web Adaptor logs for both server and portal (ServerWa.log and PortalWa.log). They both have this inside: Property(S): ComputerName = SVKSI058ANEW no trace of sit.a4mobility.it whatsoever. Is it possible that the etc/hosts trick is not working? Has anybody else out there tried it, or am I the only one in need of a simple installation which ends up having a single machine deploy of AGE that can be reached via a public domain rather than a (in most cases) useless FQDN? Thanks

Trying to install AGE 10.7.1 with Builder. Before launching the setup, i changed my etc/hosts file to let my server see itself as sit.a4mobility.it rather than its FQDN (svksi058anew.globalnt.it)as suggested in https://community.esri.com/thread/208069-impossible-to-log-in-to-arcgis-server-federated-with-portal-after-installation-… The etc/hosts now has this line MY_SERVER_IP sit.a4mobility.it To confirm it works, pinging the server with ping -a MY_SERVER_IP shows sit.a4mobility.it rather than the FQDN. I launched the installation and everything went fine (all green check marks). Then, opening the configuration wizard in the browser, (i changed the URL from http://localhost:6080/arcgis/enterprise to http://sit.a4mobility.it:6080/arcgis/enterprise ), after filling all the information, I reach the error: The wizard is redirecting to the FQDN (https://svksi058anew.globalnt.it/server), and there's no way I can make it work. I can however reach https://sit.a4mobility.it/server which redirects me to the Web Adaptor configuration page (https://sit.a4mobility.it/server/webadaptor ), meaning that probably the etc(hosts trick worked. Unfortunately, I have no idea how I would make the Builder configuration wizard to point to this address rather than the FQDN one. I am again stuck with installing AGE with Builder and I REALLY hope someone will shed a light on how I can solve this without removing everything and reinstalling each component manually (that is one day of work at least). There's also this other thread https://community.esri.com/thread/210356-web-adapator-for-arcgis-server-is-not-taking-domain-name-arcgis-server#comment-… where Jonathan Quinn says: 1) Use the hosts file under C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc to set the alias so the Builder will use that hostname for configuring everything: Ex. 10.0.0.1 webgis.domain.com This however seems to have failed in my case, and according to the many threads I found on Geonet, most people just gave up and did a manual install of the AGE components separately...

Nope, but I guess I have a buggy installation. I tried the WebGIS Dr initially (on a 10.5 version), but that didn't work. So I tried the exportSite/importSite approach for migrating the single machine deployment onto another server. Most likely this approach has led to an unstable installation and trying to fix everything is getting tedious. I guess it's time to reinstall everything from scratch. Thanks for your help anyway, really appreciate it!

Cody Marsh Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the late answer. It's not a fresh installation but there's nothing hosted, so if you suggest to uninstall I can go with it without any problem. Just want to be sure that I don't "break" anything since it's not the first time for me uninstalling a component of the ArcGIS Enterprise deploy and "break" something Anyway, i really appreciate any suggestion from your side. Thanks.

I am trying to set a federated server as the hosting server of my portal for ArcGIS (all is version 10.7.1). When I try it, I receive the following error: In ArcGIS Manager, I can see that I have an error when trying to validate the Relational data Store: In the server log I see this error: The connection property set was missing a required property or the property value was unrecognized. Underlying DBMS error[FATALE: nessuna voce in pg_hba.conf per l'host "10.215.40.58", utente "hsu_h43ki", database "db_86rvv", SSL non abilitato SQLSTATE=] How can I fix this error and be able to set the hosting server?

Replying to myself. I tried the export/import site from one machine to another and I had issues because in the new machine I came up having a Portal federated with a server with the hostname of the old machine. I managed to fix it but this is of course a good method to recover from a disaster but not to migrate...

I have an old Arc View legend file (.avl). I would like to use it to symbolize my polygonal shapefile in ArcMap 10.6.1. The symbology is set on a single field using the method "By Category". From the Symbology window within the properties of my polygonal layer, I press Import and then I select my avl file from the option "Import symbology definition from anArc View 3 legend file (*.avl)". Then I select the right field, and the list of values appear. However, the symbols are all blanks. In the official docs http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/map/working-with-layers/importing-symbology-from-another-layer.htm I don't see any limits regarding this type of import, except for some cases which do not seem mine however (highlighted in the picture below). Thanks for any help. P.S. I had to post this thread selecting "ArcGIS Pro" group as there was no possible choice regarding ArcMap/ArcGIS Desktop...
