I expect that the exceptions you need to handle are relatively few. Make a layer of the cutblock centers (polygon to points or use points if you already have them) and edit the exceptions to locate them where you want the map centered. Leave this layer turned off, but use it as your data driven pages source layer. If you do need to alter scale to show the extent you require, use a polygon or line feature instead. Best Regards, Jim

There is a tool Data Management Tools >> Package >> Consolidate Layer that will copy all referenced data sources into a single folder. Consolidate Map will do the same, and include the map document as well. Best Regards, Jim

There may be a better way to do this, but I would use the raster calculator with a series of nested CON() statements, using > to filter for the maximum values. Best Regards, Jim

Good news! What was your solution? It is helpful to show that in the forum, so if anyone else runs into a similar issue, perhaps your solution will help them. Best Regards, Jim

Michael, You could run the buffer tool with a 1 meter distance, and dissolve all option. then buffer again at -1 meter to shrink the overall extent. Of course, if the 1 meter increase does not matter for your analysis, leave them as the first result. There will be some small distortion due to the buffer out and in, but probably not too much, unless your polygons are quite convoluted. Best Regards, Jim

This seems a very simple feature. Why not create a polygon shapefile, start an edit session, turn on snapping to points, and digitize the polygon you wish using the points as snapping guides? Regards, Jim

Scott, in order to create a polygon, you need a polygon feature class / shapefile to hold it. You have only point layers in your map. Regards, Jim

I am not a .net programmer, so can not help you there. Here is a link to BLM Public Land Survey System (PLSS) data for Custer county Oklahoma: http://www.geocommunicator.gov/GeoComm/lsis_home/home/PLSS_download_OKcounty.htm Regards, Jim

I have done this many times. My process is to obtain the TRS polygon data, and then format my input well table to match the single TRS column in the polygon data. THen I create an address locator from the TRS polygon file (General - single field for style). Then I geocode the table. Typically I am working with quarter quarter sections as well, so the ability to interactively match records that do not automatically get matched is a huge plus. Regards, Jim

basically I had a map location and data files that were up the directory tree 4 levels, and then down a new directory path 4 levels. I could work with a map initially, but on opening, the paths were all broken, and I would have to reset. I moved my files into the same location as the map, and my problems went away. Regards, Jim

I had a similar problem, and had to simplify the path to the file source before it would work. It may also be related to whether or not you have the map document set to relative paths. Best Regards, Jim

Another option is to start an edit session, and right click on the polyline feature, choose "Replace Sketch", and it will copy the polyline feature into your polygon layer. Best Regards, Jim

I just finished a rather convoluted, slow process to make a vertical Datum transformation. Acquired DEM from USGS, converted Raster to points in the coordinate system I needed, added xy and converted the z from meters to feet, exported to text file, and then processed that through CorpsCon. Is there a better way to do a vertical datum transformation? Regards, Jim

How about ArcToolbox >> Analysis Tools>> Overlay >> Spatial Join choose One to Many as the join operation, and set the search radius as desired. Then you need to create a crosstab to rearrange the data. Do this in excel (easiest as far as I am concerned) or try the Transpose Fields tool. Best Regards, Jim

Rob, What has changed? Do you see the red fill on screen, or only on export? Have polygons been edited? Perhaps the geometry has been compromised - run repair geometry. Are features selected, and your selection color is set to red? Your output is Black and white in the one pdf, is your source all black and white, and the red fill is coming from nowhere? Have you tried printing vs exporting to PDF? If you export to image, does the red show? Regards, Jim
