Though I have never setup Insights with SQL Server Express personally, I recall (not 100% sure right now) a colleague had done that. So it should probably work. Have you tried and are facing any issues?

It is certainly possible using the same concepts of Domain and Subtypes. However, the below workflow will only help if the Genus field can be of data type short integer or long integer. The Genus will be the Subtype field: And you will need to create a separate Domain for each type of Genus, listing the Species as Codes. Example: So the end result, when you try to edit, this is what you get:

You need to provide more details for anyone to offer a proper suggestion\solution: When are you encountering the error? What workflow leads to that error? What version of ArcGIS are you working with? Can you share a screenshot of the error message..

This looks good and as expected. GS --> Name of the database DBO--> Schema that owns the data and was used to create the data GS_DBO_test \ test--> name of the Object (table and Feature class) So, I think you should posts a screenshot of the error you receive while Publishing and a brief outline of the workflow you are following to Publish. Also the configuration details, such as: ArcGIS Desktop version ArcGIS Server version Enterprise Geodatabase version SQL Server version (Example: SQL Server 2014 SP2)

Remove the "." in the Object name and replace with an "_" if needed. As discussed above, "." in object name is not supported by ArcGIS.

No, for a normal\routine compress it is not necessary to delete the Versions. Just disconnect the other connections, do the reconcile\post of wanted Versions, then perform the Compress. You can perform the Full Compress weekly, bi-weekly, monthly....based on how much editing is done in that geodatabase.

My above comment was considering the below statement in your original post: Please help as this is in our production environment. Considering it is a Performance issue now and not failing anymore, you should maybe look into ways of improving performance: 1. Reconcile\Post all existing versions and delete them 2. Try and perform a Full Compress 3. Analyze\Calculate Statistics\Rebuild Indexes are some other options to look into. Check if these help.

If this is the Production Environment, you should be contacting the Esri Technical Support for immediate assistance, instead of a Public forum.

Is the Data registered as Versioned? If yes, then from the Database end, query the Versioned View created for that data. That should show the desired results. ***** When a Feature Class(FC) is Registered as Versioned, two extra tables, known as Delta Tables (a- & d- Tables) are created on the Database end. This is in addition to the Base Table (Table with same name as the FC) already created when the FC was created in ArcCatalog. Edits made to these Versioned FC will move to the Delta Tables and remain there, till you perform the Compress operation(and Reconcile\Post of other versions when applicable). The Versioned View is created for that FC, when it was Registered as Versioned. This View shows data from all 3 Tables (Base Table, a- Table & d- Table). *****
