So Insights for ArcGIS 3.0 is now available for download at My Esri, but I would hold off on upgrading right now. There is a warning to not install until you apply a ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.1 patch but the patch is not available yet. This is just silly. First there is no warning to not upgrade ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.1 if you are using Insights for ArcGIS. Then they release the version of Insights that is supposed to be compatible. Then they warn not to upgrade Insights for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Enterprise because ArcGIS Enterprise has to be patched first, but the patch is not available at this time. Also, the warning Esri provides is unclear to me: "If using Insights for ArcGIS 3.0 in ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.1, an additional ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.1 patch (Coming soon!) is needed to enable Public Sharing. Without this patch, public sharing will be disabled. Please contact the ArcGIS Enterprise Administrator to ensure all necessary patches are available and installed prior to upgrading ArcGIS Enterprise from 10.6 to 10.6.1." Does that mean all public sharing would be disabled for my entire ArcGIS Enterprise site or just for Insights for ArcGIS items? There is a big difference between the two interpretations.

After upgrading from 10.6 to 10.6.1 all of the Feature Analysis and Raster Analysis tools in Portal for ArcGIS fail with a blank error message box. However, monitoring the web traffic reveals this error message for all the tools: "Invalid value for parameter inputLayer- Details : Portal request self failed with error Proxy server got bad address from remote server (verify the server is running). (status code 504)." This is the only thing I can find that is not working in our ArcGIS Enterprise deployment. I can still query, view, edit, publish hosted feature services. So I know that our Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS for Server can still talk to each other correctly. According to the web traffic the service that is supposed to hold the analysis results is created on ArcGIS for Server and it is successfully added to Portal for ArcGIS as an item. The tool then fails because the tool on ArcGIS for Server cannot access the input layer through Portal for ArcGIS. Has anyone else seen this?

So from My Esri when I click on the reference link for Workforce it sends me over to a page that right at the top says this is which version of Workforce will work with which version of ArcGIS Enterprise. Insights just sends you to a page that says that you need Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Server. You have to go hunting through the rest of the Insights help documentation to find a compatibility matrix, and unfortunately it is out of date. Without stumbling upon this forum post I would have had no idea that Insights 2.3 is not compatible with 10.6.1. This is the only warning people get in the Portal for ArcGIS help documentation upgrade guide: "Ensure any Esri apps you have configured with your portal, such as Workforce for ArcGIS and Insights for ArcGIS, are at a version that's compatible with the 10.6.1 portal before upgrading. You can upgrade any apps as needed after upgrading the portal." If I decide to go ahead and upgrade ArcGIS Enterprise from 10.6 to 10.6.1 right now, do I need to uninstall Insights for ArcGIS 2.3 first?

It is great that there is now a way to easily and quickly do administrative tasks on a mobile device when away from a desktop computer. However, I agree with John's point that it seems like it would have made more sense to give ArcGIS Online a responsive web design, which seems to be fairly common these days, than to create and maintain a new native app. What would be really cool, and leading the way, would be to give all of ArcGIS Online a responsive web design and enable progressive web app (PWA) functionality where appropriate. From what I understand, PWA support would even open up the possibility of bio-metric authentication for the ArcGIS Online website.

The Print tool in the web map and the Print widget in the Web AppBuilder need a way to let the user see what extent is going to be used based on the layout template they have selected. Right now my organization has to waste time and system resources trying several times to get the subject matter of the map in the center of the exported file.

Add an option to the Public Notification widget to be able export and download a map in addition to the mail labels or CSV file. It would be helpful to be able to: set the print service URL for the export in the widget settings, so we can point it to a custom print service that has custom layout templates test for custom print parameters and add input fields as necessary set the symbology for the area of interest, buffer polygon, and selected features in the widget settings The Public Notification widget is great for getting the information needed to do mail outs for public notices. However, we also create a location map to send out with the public notice so that our citizens can easily identify the area in question. Adding the ability export a map directly from the widget would be a huge help.

Is there any interest in Esri picking up where Larry left off and making that concept part of the default ArcGIS Online/Enterprise experience? I mean actually making it part of the default print service and print widget.

Does Esri have an approximate time-frame for when we are finally going to be able to group feature services in web maps and web apps? We have maps of water, sewer, and storm drain utilities and we rarely are able to use feature services because my users do not want to check/uncheck 10 items when they used to only have to check/uncheck 1 item. Which means we have to choose between usability (less checking/unchecking) and dynamic legends (not supported with dynamic map image services) for our ArcGIS Portal maps.

Unfortunately I cannot share that particular map, but I found a way to resolve the problem. The fix was to republish the utility services with a data transformation specified. I would have thought that both the drawing location and the selection location would be identical with both shifted on the basemap do to a lack of a data transformation being specified when the data was published as a service. Why would it be drawn in one location and selectable in a different location when it is the same data from the same service? Is this a bug in the map services? The utility data is stored in Texas State Plane 1983 South Central US Feet in the geodatabase but the service is published in Web Mercator. The basemaps are the Esri default basemaps that are in Web Mercator as well. I know using the data transformation improves the accuracy of the utility data overlay, but it also slows down the rendering of the utility data.

Did you ever find out why the selection is shifted? I am still having this issue with some of our maps. The layer is drawing in the correct place but the selection point is offset by about a foot.

Thank you. These steps fixed the issue for me. The default print service now has its items under Tasks again. We upgraded from 10.5.1 to 10.6 and the Tasks were missing.

Thank you for replying so quickly. I was just curious if that was something Esri supported. I guess WAB for ArcGIS Enterprise will always be a version or two behind ArcGIS Online.

So ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6 was just recently released and uses Web AppBuilder 2.6. Does anyone know if it is possible or advisable to replace it with Web AppBuilder Developer Edition 2.7? I am not referring to registering WAB Developer Edition with ArcGIS Portal. Instead I mean swapping the install files of the two versions.

The window for the Export Layout needs to have a Project quick access section just like other folder dialog windows in ArcGIS Pro have. I have attached an example of what I am talking about. Right now, ArcGIS Pro always defaults to the last folder that a layout was exported to and I have to dig through my entire folder structure on my computer every single time I export a layout from a different project.
