So the server instance has been setup and running for almost 2years with only the usual issues... 1) we installed the ESRI 2016 security patch a) found that the patch was doing more harm than good b) removed the patch 2) Cannot access the saved gis server connection in desktop 3) Cannot create new connection to gis server 3) Cannot access the Manager site for the instance of serve 3) We CAN however access the admin site for the instance of server not sure if this was caused due to the removal of the patch or something else. If using the Web Adaptor is it really necessary to "secure" the published services? customer will only consume services via the REST, so in my mind it seems a bit of overkill to secure the published services on top of running the web adaptor. Users = Domain A ESRI = Domain B (this is by design and cannot be moved to Domain A) what would be the cleanest way to secure services....if they even nee to be secured at all? thanks dave

our vm cpu spiked to 98-99% and was sustained at that usage. (we were forced to kills arcgis services and reboot the machine) at the time of spike we were running GP services and our script failed: ExecuteError: ERROR 001470: Failed to retrieve the job status from server. The Job is running on the server, please use the above URL to check the job status. Failed to execute (ManageMapServerCacheTiles). like i said above, this is concerning since we installed the 2016 Security Patch update 2 last week. thanks dave

Justin, i would be very interested in knowing if you figure out more.... if you see above, this issue was supposed to be fixed in 10.3x, and was supposed to be fixed in 10.2.2 with their recent security patch. We have installed the patch for 10.2.2 i have noticed some spikes still...upwards of 2gb of memory, after patch was installed and machine was rebooted. please keep us updated. dave

All, I was just curious how everyone is handling notifying its users and/or project managers that there may be some downtown time in the published services that users/clients may notice? obviously an email to all project managers would be a start in case they are contacted by clients, was just curious if someone else has come up with any other best practices on the matter and are willing to share with us all. thanks in advance Dave
