Pamela, The supervisor can install the Survey123 Mobile App on their computer and then can scroll through the in-box and fill in their initials on a question such as "Reviewed by Supervisor". This works and is an easy method to view all of the sent surveys without going through a map viewer. --gary

Right, but when the csv is read by excel, aren’t the zeroes then ignored? I can open my csv in notepad and the zeroes are there, it is only in excel that the zeroes disappear. I will try this and see if it will work. Thanks for the quick reply, --gary Gary H. Bowles, GISP GIS Database Administrator | Seneca Resources Office : 412-548-2544 | Cell Phone: 412-334-5273

We are using the Pulldata function with barcode labels for inspection of assets. Our Asset IDs are 5 digit numbers with some that begin with a 0 ie. 02243. Excel ignores these zeroes when reading csv files. I have tried several different methods to create and save the .csv file, but the leading zeroes are not read in Survey123. we require the Asset ID data to be the 5 digit number including any leading zeroes so that we can link it back to our SCADA system. Has anyone else ran into this problem? Suggestions? I have attached the survey, .csv file and a jpg of a barcode for testing. Thanks, --gary

Phil, The issue was related to the field names of the original survey containing uppercase letters and the 2.3 upgrade no longer converted/fixed this to push the data up with all lowercase field names. During this time, when our users hit send now for a survey, the mobile app did not throw an error and acted as if the data was uploaded properly, however the data was going into the database as a blank record because none of the field names matched. We wound up with approximately 300 blank records in our database. Once we found the problem and diagnosed what was the cause and how to fix, I manually removed the databases from the 12 iPads but several users emptied their Sent box every night. I was able to recover approximately 95 of the surveys but we have to send our field crews out to redo approximately 200 inspections. Thanks for adding the Disable Sent Items as feature request. --gary Gary H. Bowles, GISP GIS Database Administrator | Seneca Resources Office : 412-548-2544 | Cell Phone: 412-334-5273

Is it possible to disable the Empty function in Sent Items? We would like to manually remove the surveys quarterly and store them for a period of time in case we find out that data for a particular survey did not upload properly. The 2.3 upgrade caused us to lose 200 inspection records that were emptied from the Sent box after the users assumed they were sent properly. Thanks, --gary

Johnathan, Can you provide a link to the Survey123 mobile app for a version prior to 2.3? I am recovering data from 14 iPads and would prefer if i can get a 2.2 version of the mobile app for Windows. Thanks, --gary

Philip, Bottom line – is the data from any collected survey since the 2.3.29 update going to be available for removal from the iPads? If no, I need to get our people back out repeating their inspections as these are regulatory inspections and we are required to report these to the state DEP. Was the lowercase field names option not tested against feature services that had uppercase letters in their field names prior to release? I do not remember seeing anything other than the note in the release blog from July 20 This is potentially a large issue that will cost significant time and money to fix. Please respond today and let me know if the data that has been collected using the 2.3.29 app can be removed from the iPads. If it cannot, then I need to inform the program managers involved and determine our best method to recapture the data. Thanks for your help, --gary Gary H. James, If I configure the pop-up to display 3 decimal places, all displays properly. If someone else goes in and looks at the data though, they see the rounded/truncated values. We are not creating a webmap for this data but I have seen this with lat/long values in other webmaps we have. After configuring the pop-ups for 6 decimal places and saving the webmap, when it is re-opened, it has gone back to 2 decimal places. I do not think this is a Survey123 issue per se, but was trying to see if any other users experienced this and possibly had a fix. Thanks, --gary Gary H. I have a survey that collects decimal data and the user enters 3 decimal places of data (#.###). When viewing the data in Portal 10.4.1, the values are rounded up and truncated to 2 decimals. Therefore a value of 9.999 that is entered in the field shows as 10.00 in Portal. The underlying data is correct and contains the 3 decimal places but i am just curious why Portal is truncating and rounding the decimal. thanks, --gary
