Hi @JamesTedrick , Many thanks for your reply! You are right: these are choice lists, and not true database domains. Underlying this request is ergonomy: for the Survey123 field worker, who can find any tree easily, no matter how they are used to calling it. And as Survey123 used to support duplicate entries in choice lists, they are now well used to finding everything they need. for Survey123Connect designers, as we can copy/paste the revised tree species lists when the client refreshes it, and demands compliance to their new list. XLSForms seem to have some parameter to authorize duplicate names in choice lists ; and the required parameter already appears in Survey123 (ref: https://github.com/XLSForm/xlsform.github.io/blob/master/_sections/home-english.md). ... many thanks for considering its implementation in Survey123 !! 🙂 With kind regards, Hélène.

Hi @DougBrowning , Many thanks for your reply & question! Yes there is a reason why we do not use concatenated aliases: we are using pre-existing domains, furnished by the client. Complying with their codes and aliases is a stringent contract requirement. Extending labels to have one single code = comma-separated aliases is our current workaround, but it is high maintenance as our client's domain is a moving target (2-3 updates per year), and a relatively long list (102 tree species). This is why the copy/paste any new version of the client's domain into Survey123 XLS form was a great relief (one step does it all), and an insurance to comply quickly & simply with the requested data model, as used to use the jr:choice-name() function later in the Survey123 form. This quick & easy workflow is not supported anymore when we concatenate domain aliases into a comma-serataed list. In addition to editing the client's domain, we also have to add an extra maintenance loop, to catch the client's original alias, rather than the comma-separated list. With kind regards, Hélène.

Good morning, My organization has the same need, and I cannot find a way to create a working GP Service "Append" 😞 On every new project, our users ask us to load GPS fieldwork geometries, collected outside ArcGIS Enterprise Apps (SHP format). The main aim is to load the geometries, attribution would be dealt with in the ArcGIS Portal WebApp ; i.e. field map is optionnal (though nice to have 🙂 ). Is there any way to know whether such a functionnality has entered the product's roadmap? Many thanks !! With kind regards, Hélène.

Thanks for your message, @DougBrowning! Yes, I have: I did interact with the "allow_choice_duplicates" parameter in the settings tab, with no effect. => Setting the value according to the XLSForms recommended syntax does not change the behavior of the form (syntax ref: https://github.com/XLSForm/xlsform.github.io/blob/master/_sections/home-english.md) I hope this functionnality will soon be implemented ; the recent version(s) of Survey123Connect have resulted a big regression on the form's behavior on this topic.

Good morning, Survey123 community! I used to provide our fieldworkers with TPK files for offline use. My organization is now using standard maps in Survey123, so I see MMPK could also be used as offline basemaps.... but I cannot find any information on why or how I would choose MMPK over TPK (or TPK over MMPK). Are there any significant differences between TPK and MMPK formats, in terms of functionality or performance ? Is one better suited to particular use cases, IT environment, or other criteria? Many thanks for your insights & advice! With kind regards, Hélène

Good morning, We have recently installed ArcGIS Enterprise version 10.8.1 and this bug is still active. Is there any way to know whether it will be adressed in future releases? Many thanks, Hélène.

Thanks @AlixVezina! While this cannot fit my use (too many unknown users: no way to build custom URLs for everyone), it is an excellent solution that I will use for use cases where the choice list is short & bounded.

Hi @AlixVezina, and many thanks for your reply! I would be happy to report the ArcGIS Enterprise username in one of my feature service's text fields. The idea is to mimic what Survey123 can do, because my users want to split work between field (with Survey123), and office (with a web app that uses the smart editor). I would like data to be consistent regardless of the tool used to produce it. I could not figure out how to retrieve this value, which I supposed to be a known variable to the smart editor. Many thanks for your advice! With kind regards, Helene

Good evening Web AppBuilder Community! I woud like to populate an operator's name using the Web AppBuilder's Smart Editor. This value should be distinct from what I can obtain from the geodatabase editor tracking. I cannot find a syntax example to retrieve this value into a texte field - has anyone done this before? Many thanks! With kind regards, Hélène

Hi @MarvinDavis, I was wondering if there is any news on this ArcGIS Idea? Will the capability to add attachements to existing records be implemented, and if so, is there a broad timeline for it? Many thanks! Kind regards, Hélène. Here's another post on the same topic, https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-survey123-questions/attachments-when-editing-the-inbox/m-p/798411/highlight/true#M10062

Hi @BrandonArmstrong, @IsmaelChivite You wrote in Feb. 2018 "We are considering adding support in a future release for editing attachments." I am wondering if there are any updates on the topic, and if this capability has been implemented (or will soon be?). Our use case is field inspection of existing features (urban trees). Accurate tree location and a few attributes are pre-loaded in the web service to circumvent the GPS location obtained from smartphones, which is not good enough for our client. Surveyors update each feature's attribution and must provide a picture of the tree. It would be very handy, efficient, and secure (yes, all that! 🙂 to udpate the feature service attachements with Survey123, i.e. add an attchament to a feature that does not have any, rather than try to pick and match external pics.... which is extremely time consuming & prone to error. Many many thanks in advance! Kind regards, Hélène.

Hi Josh Habel, Some of our fieldwork teams have the same workflow as your contractors: they edit existing data with Survey123 via the inbox (missing attribute completion & existing attribute update) We need them to take pictures of the inspected field features, but Survey123 inbox does not allow to add pictures to existing features. We have to take pictures outside Survey123 and match them to the fieldwork records...This is obviously error-prone and not efficient, but nicely vintage - welcome bakc to the 1980s . Unlocking pictures & attachments at large for existing data update via the inbox would be a fantastic upgrade to the product. Many thanks ESRI for forthcoming help & for taking this ArcGIS Idea into consideration! With kind regards, Hélène.
