There is a bug and, according to ESRI, is supposed to be fixed in 10.5.1.

Hi Rachel, No turn feature classes are being used. Not multimodal. Network is built. We are using the same data set/schema for our roads as before and the xml files were never manually modified. If I set returnDirections to false in the client applications the routing works fine...it will fail if it is set to true. If I attempt to retrieve directions in a Desktop session ArcMap crashes immediately and displays the ESRI send error report dialog. The routing service on Server fails and returns: Error executing solve route at Object.g.load to the client. I upgraded 2 machines that show the same behavior and both Desktop and Server were upgraded. Thanks, Mike

We have had a transportation network dataset running for some time now until an upgrade to 10.5. Now, calculating a route works as expected but, when attempting to get directions, ArcMap crashes instantly. We also have a routing service in Server that is also failing and I can only assume the same thing is happening. UPDATE: On the client side, I have set returnDirections to false and the routing works fine...something in the directions is crashing it... Nothing has changed with the dataset that we are using and I have stopped, restarted, recreated the datasets with the same results...ArcMap crash or Server error. Any help would be great! Thanks, Mike

Hello, This is better described with images...basically when adding a line point to one part of a section it affects a far-away portion of the section...any ideas as to why this is happening would be great! Section2.jpg is an image of the entire section with the areas highlighted in red. AffectedAreaBeforeLinePoint.jpg - self explanatory AffectedAreaAfterLinePoint.jpg - self explanatory As far as I can tell, these areas are independent of each other. Thanks!

Yes...working with our IT department to troubleshoot...we disabled Kaspersky altogether and saw immediate results...we are now trying to find the offending component.

After a few months of smooth sailing...the issue is back. A blank document now takes about 1:30 to load. This seemed to happen after several windows updates (and a Kaspersky Anti-Virus update).

Hi All, I have Tim's arcobjects fabric editing snippet but for the life of me I can't figure out how to edit/update existing fabric control points using the CadastralExtensionManager. Does anyone have any ideas? I see that there are methods to start and stop edit control points but how do you capture the point to edit it? Thanks! Mike

Yes...I deleted the default.gdb with no effect. I currently have a support ticket open on this with ESRI...I will keep this post updated.

Back to square one...after great performance for the last 2 days, ArcMap has started hanging on startup for 1.5-2 minutes. The curiously happened right after I installed MSXML Parser 4 SP3 to deal with a separate software issue (GroupWise client). Now I'm stuck again as it was before...tried uninstalling MsXML / repairing ArcMap to no avail. I also installed MSXML on the last go-round originally so I can't help but think it's got to have something to do with it.

After much trial and error...I could not find a solution. Thankfully the built-in reset process in Windows 10 if very easy (other than the fact that you have re-install everything). I reset the Windows installation using the 'Remove and Clean' options and now all is working as expected. ArcMap starts under 20 seconds. Thanks all for the suggestions.

Yes...I have full access to the license manager server....nothing has changed on our network. tracert/nslooup is normal and using the IP vs machine name doesn't affect anything. I turned off IPv6 on the client but it also had no affect. I'm really stumped....all other Windows 7 machines running 10.4, hitting the same license manager, start in less than 15 seconds. It looks like the only option is to do a clean install of windows and test.

Yes.../log shows no useful info. Sysinternals hasn't shown anything conclusive yet....only that the time line appears to be about 1.5 minutes to startup. This is all the same with windows firewall turned off ...port 27000 is used. Almost at the point of a total clean install of Windows 10.

A note: I recently started debugging an ArcGIS engine app that I have that was failing on the license initialization...(the reason is that I had not switched back to concurrent use from the single-use license). After I switched back to a concurrent license all works fine, but, I put a break point on the license initialization portion and the app hangs (for about a minute and a half) which leads me to believe it's definitely an issue with the license manager communication. It appears that after 10.1 you cannot start arcmap.exe with the /log option...does any one know a why to log (or at least trace somehow) the start up? Thanks! Mike
