first of all, apologizes as I realized later that I got your name misspelled Back to working with MXD's on this, if you are using one of the latest server version (10.6.1 or above -- higher the better ) then I'd suggest you to author layer in ArcGIS Pro and publish a print service from Pro.

Ame, print widget/service does not give you any control on scale bar visibility. If you don't want to see scale bar in the output layout pdf, you need to use a layout template that does not have scale bar. as you know to use your own layout template, you can't use ArcGIS Online print service or the print service that comes installed with ArcGIS Enterprise/Server, you need to publish your own. hope this help Tanu

Jessica Goodsell Are you trying to do it in a JS API app or in a Desktop app such as ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap? You mentioned 'feature class' that is why I'm asking. Plus which scripting language you are using?

I published from ArcGIS Pro. I also tried the service installed with the server to no avail, but that is to be expected, right? It should work for both the Utilities\PrintTools and your service you published from ArcGIS Pro.

What is the easiest way to check to see if the webmap_as_json contains tokens? Open you web app If you use Firefox, choose Web Developer | Network from the menu or press Ctrl + Shift + E to open FireFox DevTools. If you use Chrome, click More Tools | Developer Tools from the menu or press Ctrl + Shift + I and switch to Network tab. Click print, and you should see requests going out to the print service in the Network tab. One of them will make the request to a url that ends with /execute, you can find webmap_as_json in there Q: 1. what kind of security you? 2. was it working before you upgrade to 10.8?
