@Anonymous User , have you considered the Telecommunications UN data model for your needs? Maybe there is a specific reason you need to have it in your electric UN? I haven't seen that OMS is looking at the GIS for AMI related information beyond a simple meter ID. Consequently, we aren't modeling AMI assets in a UN for our clients at the moment. We do promote the modeling of meter assets / service locations in the electric UNs we build. Hope that helps.

@RenatoSalvaleon3and @RichRuh , has there been any new development on this topic and specifically around the most recent comment about ordered results? An ordered list from the up/downstream trace result is a key component in understanding parent to child relationships and is used by many systems in a utility. I'd really like to know more about the current state and what options I have.

Thanks, @AlixVezina. Thanks great to hear about upcoming enhancements. Maybe I missed it, but did you have a sample app posted anywhere that folks can use as a lightweight starting point? I have a number of clients that would really enjoy seeing this demonstrated with their own networks.

Hi all, I currently have an electric utility network service published and then consumed inside a map with a few named trace configurations enabled. I feel comfortable using these named configurations in Pro, but I'm really looking for a web app widget to trace a UN. Where does this widget exist? I don't see the widget when configuring a new WAB app in Portal. I don't see it as an available widget in the 'stemapp/widgets' folder when trying to configure a custom web app. And finally, I don't see it in the Experience Builder either. I am trying to follow this post: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/utility-network/data-management/trace-a-utility-network-with-arcgis-api-for-javascript/ Can somebody explain it to me like I'm 5? Where is the MapView config and what do I have to do to get the UN trace widget? Thanks!

We do this regularly during the UN development process for our clients. We have scripted the exact workflow you described into a Jupyter notebook. So the label of 'best' is subjective to your environment and needs, but it certainly works for us. -Logan

Certainly. A domain can be applied to multiple fields in the same feature class and table as well as subtypes if needed. The domain is accessible to all feature classes and tables within the database that have the same field type as the domain (string, long, short, etc.). Cheers.

This looks like a UN version issue. You are running untool 2.8.2. Which means that you need to be on version 5 of the UN. The documentation is here: https://solutions.arcgis.com/utilities/help/utility-network-automation/tool-reference/apply-asset-package.htm Hope that helps!

Any thoughts here on database replication? I haven't dived deep enough to know if it will work with a UN, but if I created a two-way replica, could I not publish the service with the replica? I'm not sure if replication is even supported with branch versioning. It feels like it is. I'm not seeing much that says otherwise.

Right, but since we are using the REST endpoint (even if it's behind the scenes in Pro) to create versions, make edits, etc., then why couldn't we expect that the off-the-shelf solutions could do the same? A rhetorical question I suppose. But if the only solution is to extend Collector or Field Maps on my own to do this, forget it. I have enough hats to wear.

Hi All, I'm trying to learn more about how Collector and Field Maps can work with Utility Network data while writing to specific versions or create new versions during an editing session. I think I understand that with traditional versioning, we could 'enable sync' while publishing the service and choose a few different methods of version creation. But this only seems to apply when the editor takes the map offline. This isn't a situation where the editor is just always writing to a new version. With branch versioning, we can't enable sync when publishing. Instead we rely on enabling 'Version Management' when we publish. This seems right for desktop workflows, but what do we do about mobile workflows in Collector or Field Maps? How can I get a user to always write to a new version or an established 'fieldcrew' version as an example? Thanks!

Any new developments here? I'm having the exact same issue. I cannot delete feature classes or disable network topology in my UN database. And I can't restart the service. I get the same notification.

@HusseinNasser2, Thank you! I got what I needed from your first suggestion. I'm fairly new to working with the REST API and didn't quite understand you second comment. Please expand if you like, but I've marked your solution as solved all the same.

Hi Community, I'm trying to add associations with a REST call and got stuck when trying to identify the 'networksourceid' in the TO/FROM attributes of body. I'm hoping there is either a table of ids I can reference or that this is identified somewhere else. When I reviewed previous association adds and deletes, the networksourceid I saw in the calls didn't line up with expectations. Meaning, I expected the ids to be the same as the layer index in the feature service. They are not. Help and guidance are much appreciated!
