Right click in your workspace in Catalog, and select new toolbox. Right click the toolbox and select add script. Give the script a name, and generally select relative paths and click next., navigate to your script location and click next. Now you have to add parameters if you need them. I have been following this post with interest, and I think at this point it would help if Michael defined exactly the definition of prominence he is after. I've been assuming he meant this definition, from wikipedia: "In topography, prominence characterizes the height of a mountain or hill's summit by the vertical distance between it and the lowest contour line encircling it and no higher summit. It is a measure of the independence of a summit." Graham's reply, while creative, seems to be getting at prominence as the difference in height between the peak, and surrounding lower peaks, unless I'm misunderstanding it. I'm also confused by Chris's comment that a prominence analysis of Mt McKinley would require "a DEM covering North, Central, and South America". How so? By the WikiPedia definition, wouldn't it just require the area encompassing the surrounding peaks, and/or water features? ... View more

It also depends on what category of streams you are trying to model. For instance, do you just want to model perennial streams, or do you want intermittent streams also. The basin size for intermittent streams is obviously small than perennial. I have recently created modeled streams for our state forests, and I did this by a combination of asking staff to supply points where known streams went from being perennial to being seasonal, and then using those points to calculate a basin size. I then used that basin size in my hydrology analysis as a starting point. I also created several stream layers with smaller and larger basin sizes, and sent all these back to staff asking them to pick the most suitable one. This basin size does vary by such things as topography, geology, and rainfall, so It's not valid across huge areas. In my case I did it by districts, knowing that it was an average and approximation. You can change your page size as Owen described for changing the orientation, of ycourse you'll have to have a printer that prints that page size. As it is, you could select your data frame--the black line that surrounds your data within the page--and drag the right top corner out a little more, to the page margins, and you could zoom in on your data a little more. If it's in the same layer, then right click the layer in the table of contents, select copy, past it in to your table of contents, and then change the symbology of the copied layer as described in the help file."
