In the March 2019 release of ArcGIS Online, Smart Editor widget will allow you to copy features from another layer to another target layer. No buffering edit tool in Smart Editor yet, but if you can generate the buffer in another widget, Smart Editor can copy that.

Hi Jared, Thanks for trying out the Stormwater solutions. We regret that you are having issues configuring the solution. In order to help resolve your issues, can you provide some more information. Can you provide the version of the ArcGIS Solutions Deployment Tool you are using? To find the version you are using, click the project tab, go down to "Add-In Manager" , then select ArcGIS Solutions Deployment Tool. Version information will be displayed on the right side. Issue 1, Are you adding a new domain directly through ArcGIS Pro or via the task in the Solutions Deployment Tool task. Issue 2, Can you provide the data type for the fields and domains you added in case there are limitations on Explorer handling that data type? Are you using the latest version of Explorer? Issue 3, What ArcGIS Online template did you use that successfully enabled editing for you? In terms of Web App Builder, did you use the deployed Stormwater Editor web app and is that where you are unable to edit? There are scale dependencies for each asset type. Make sure to zoom in, in the Web AppBUilder app because the widget in the app does not show feature templates unless the feature is within range. Issue 4, Did you change the symbol and add more open channel types in ArcGIS Pro? Did the symbol disappear from the view in Pro or ArcGIS Online? Thanks, Previn

Blake, no set time right now, loose estimate is probably Q3 or Q4 of 2018. We have a rough cut of the widget with basic functionality, no where near Information Lookup. We are still deciding whether we stay 3.x or jump to 4.x javascript with this one, so that's why the timeframe is so wide. Once we have a shareable version, you will be able to find it here until it is finished and part of the core Web AppBuilder product. You can also add issues or comments once the code is available for issues you find using it. There is a template in ArcGIS Online called Information Lookup that will do this for you. We are currently working on a Web AppBuilder widget with this same functionality.

Hi James, With the release of ArcGIS Online yesterday, add some support for subtypes. In BAE, when you click the drop down, you will see the sub type descriptions. Once you select one, then the textbox will keep the code value. Not the full solution but atleast a solution that shows the value. the underying reason is the way dojo combo box works (or lack thereof). Also, it takes the type code from the rest endpoint, which only support one. so if you have multiple subtypes only one will show. Give it a try. Thanks, Previn

Hamish, Yes, the new release should base the date format on the locale now. But it does not override if you want to force it to a different format. for example, in the US, it's MM/DD/YYYY. If I try to put an date pattern of DD/MM/YYYY, it still will not validate, seems to be a bug with the underlying Dojo framework. You will still need to disable the validation using the steps above if you need to override the local format.

James, Where you will need to look is at the attribute inspector. That is the component that the edit widget, AGOL, smart editor, BAE all use. It is part of the Javascript API code base so you will need to debug and console out the object. So you will have to see how to modify the the BAE instance of it. BAE has some code to show manipulation of the inspector. For example, we changed select boxes to combo boxes so that we can add additional values not found in the dataset. Hi James, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I checked the scenario and you are correct, Batch Attribute Editor shows the subtype code and not the user friendly description. Unfortunately, any fix will not make the make the current ArcGIS Online version or the Developer Edition coming out soon as the timeframe has passed on those. It will be worked on with the target to make the next release of ArcGIS Online. Thanks

Hamish, Since you want to enable the Save button, even in the case of invalid date, you need to follow the trail for this html.addClass(saveBtn, 'jimu-state-disabled'); And comment out where it occurs (there's a few) Then in the function _getComboBoxVal: function (pParams) { Add this code html.removeClass(saveBtn, 'jimu-state-disabled'); This code controls the red outline in the textbox, just remove the logic statement and leave the else condition. if (valid === false) {
domClass.add(comboBox.domNode, ["dijitTextBoxError", "dijitComboBoxError",
"dijitError", "dijitValidationTextBoxError"]);
} else {
domClass.remove(comboBox.domNode, ["dijitTextBoxError", "dijitComboBoxError",
"dijitError", "dijitValidationTextBoxError"]);
} What you basically have done is remove all validation on the textbox, so you can save button is permanently enabled. I still suggest anywhere you have a date, to still put a mask so that things look right to you. evtJustDate = locale.format(dtValue, { selector: 'date', fullYear: true, datePattern : 'd/M/yyyy' });

Hamish, The next WAB dev edition will have all the date fixes (more than just one line I pasted) included. We did a lot more to handle and accept date based on locale and the different format that localization needs. That version is schedule to be release early October 2016. Mind you that it will take the computer language and browser language to determine the format now. So in the United States for example, default date is month, day, year, whether it's MM/DD/YYYY, M/D/YY, or MONTH/D/YYYY validation is going to be on that format. If I need to intentionally try to input as DD/MM/YYYY, then I will need to modify the code (Dev Edition) to put an mask of DD/MM/YYYY, otherwise the date textbox would not validate it correctly. Below is what I mean. var txtDate = new DateTextBox({
constraints: "{datePattern:'dd/mm/yyyy'}",
value: defaultDate,
placeHolder: this.nls.errors.requiredValue
}).placeAt(dateHolderNode);
txtDate.startup(); Thanks, Previn

Hamish, The code block above has been updated. It is no longer fixed format. The format is determined by the local now. This is currently the way in WAB as part of ArcGIS Online. It will be in changed in Dev Edition soon. Please give it a try in ArcGIS Online. var defaultDate = locale.format(new Date(), { selector: 'date', fullYear: true }); If you live in a local where the format is DD/MM/YYYY, then the data and the picker will present itself in that way. If you are in MM/DD/YYYY, but you want to enter it as DD/MM/YYYY, then you will need probably need to install some language pack and switch languages since the app is taking the browser's language settings. If you need to see the data in DD/MM/YYYY, you can format it to display that way in the pop up configuration in the ArcGIS Online web map. Hope that helps.

Since you are having issues working with the spreadsheet data, I would try and ask to see if there is an upstream source for that excel. As others mentioned, it might have come from CAD or some other system like Smallworld. For example if it came from a DWG file, you could get the source DWG, georeference it, then extract data in ArcMap.

It's not even the slap on the wrist from Google that is difficult. Google didn't demand back pay and didn't shut down the sites. The real killer was having to re mediate the violations when some of those have been integrated into the worker's workflow. Imagine pulling a streeview widget from pre-field inspection application (made from a different mapping provider) with no alternative to provide. Lots and lots of angry business workers.

Jeff, The first party, it's talking about other APIs. If you use say ArcGIS javascript api, OpenLayers, Leaflet, etc and make calls to Google's direction or fetch their tiles directly, that's not allowed. Basically because, Google's API expects a client key so they can track all the request being made. (section 10.1 a). The second part (10.4 D, E) E section says " No use of Content with a non-Google map. You must not use the Content in a Maps API Implementation that contains a non-Google map." The Map as a whole is still content. I'm just pointing these out because in a previous work place, We had Google come out for consultation for a project and ended up practically going through an audit, as they pointed out all the different ways we were using their service in violation. Because it's technically able to make a streetview widget for Flex, Web AppBuilder, App Studio, etc, does not mean it's legal to do so.
