Aaron: Thanks again...most appreciated. That was crucial for me as I needed to learn if I'm at least on the right path and trying to edit the right file 😊. I now have something on which I can work. I will certainly use your Developer Tools suggestion too...every little bit helps.

Aaron: Thanks for the response and the direction. I was reviewing the oauth.js...I just wasn't sure if that was the right file. Now that you have reaffirmed that for me I can approach this with a little more confidence. I'm not a developer, but what I'm trying to do isn't that major either. I'll keep plugging away at it and something "should" work eventually (and I'll make sure I make a copy of the file(s) before I start poking and prodding too) :-). I seem to be in the habit of clearing the cache often so that should be a relatively easy task. That is the path I'm using to find the oauth2.js file too. Does it matter which file I edit (i.e. oauth.js or oauth2.js) or should I ensure that whatever I do to one file I should also do to the other? Thanks again.

I have seen this question online a few times, but the responses (although correct) are not quite what I would like to see happen. We have had Portal set up and functioning well since 2016, but because of system configuration and some security concerns we have (hopefully temporarily) set up our sign in with credentials page a little differently. I have set up our Portal to use Windows Authentication, which works really well; however, the stipulation that we currently require is that instead of just using one's User Name and Password we require users to type in or Domain as well as User Name, as per below [for the record, GeoPORT is our internal name for our Portal here at the Port in Prince Rupert :-)]: However, this also causes a point of grief as I get calls all the time from staff who state that they are unable to log in, and 99% of the time it's because they're not keying in <domain>\ before their User Name. What I would like to be able to do is add an instruction to the sign in screen that reminds users how to properly sign in to Portal, as per the example below: Would this be possible to configure in Portal? It has been suggested that one needs to edit the oauth2.js file, but I don't seem to be able to notice any differences to that file after making minor (temporary) edits. Suggestions? Thank you

Bramantiyo: Thanks for the help with this. I am now (finally) upgrading our ArcGIS Enterprise (we're currently using 10.6.1) and as soon as I have it up and running I will definitely look for the oauth2.js script and make our changes. You're the first person I have seen who has had success with this...and there are quite a few people asking this same question :-). Once done I will get back to this page and let everyone know how it went. Thanks again

I was under the impression that one is able to add text and instructions to the Portal login page since version 10.7 or 10.7.1. Is this not the case? This has been requested since before version 10.6.1, so I'm just curious.

I have not needed to use REST Services to acquire a direct path to a specific service Portal in a while, but there is (apparently) a bug in ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.1 that prevents a user from seeing their feature layer when trying to print from a web app in Portal. I realize that there is a bug in version 10.6.1 (I'm in the process of upgrading, but that process is currently temporarily on-hold), but there is a workaround using a method I have used in the past with map images using REST Services. However, I'm currently unable to see any feature services in REST Services (only Map Images). These feature services show up in ArcGIS Server Manager (services that the user can edit), but I need to get the path to the specific layer in REST Services to (apparently) bypass the bug that is preventing the user from seeing the layer when attempting to print. Is there an ArcGIS Enterprise rule of which I'm currently unaware that doesn't allow feature services to show up in REST Services (i.e. only layers published as Map Images)?. Thank you

Hey Luke: I don't process imagery that often in our organization (and we don't have ESRI's Image Server because we cannot justify it yet), so the time-lag in between our orthophoto acquisition is usually the reason I'm usually having issues processing orthophotos (i.e. I usually only process them once every 3 or so years and have to relearn it LOL). However, we got new imagery a couple of weeks ago and I followed your suggestions above and it did work, and it worked well. I resampled the image using the cubic convolution method (instead of allowing the default of Nearest Neighbor) and I have to think that this was the big difference. The image output turned out perfectly. We usually get TIFF imagery from a consultant and the only way I have been able to find to bring that into ArcGIS (and Pro) is using one of the ESRI Mosaic tool sets. However, I also need to publish this image to our Portal for staff to review and it is my understanding that unless one has Image Server one cannot publish a Mosaic, so it has to first be exported into a single (flat) image first, and this is where I was having all of my issues. Once a single image is created I can then easily publish that to Portal, and then cache the image (which usually takes 2 or so hours), and from there it usually works perfectly for staff. So thanks again for your advice...it is very appreciated most useful, and a major time-saver.

Bramantiyo: Thanks for the feedback...most appreciated. I did see this discussion (they are basically saying that the answer is "no"...customizing the login screen is not possible). However, this was also a discussion from August 2017 (almost 3 years ago), so I was sort of hoping that "maybe" this has now changed. Probably not...but knowing that is good too because it means I won't have to keep chasing something that is not attainable :-).

Thanks Dan: I was looking at this tool in ArcGIS Pro, but it seems to want direction offset for one direction, whereas the formula I have requires two...unless I'm missing something: I was sure that the way to do this was to create a custom projection, but I cannot find much anywhere that explains how to do that. That and the direction offset options are dd, dms an ra...whereas the output needs to be in UTM. I think the problem right now is that I have no idea how to use this Corrections tool LOL.

I have an AutoCAD drawing in ground coordinates and need to get this into a usable projection to use in ArcGIS Pro. Is ArcGIS Pro able to do this? I have the math that is typically used to do such a conversion (below), but I am not quite clear how to implement this in ArcGIS Pro: To Transform Ground to UTM Coordinates Example: Point100 (Ground) 13262.582 m N, 4380.119 m E 1. Shift back to the original scaled coordinate value: 13262.582 m + 6,000,000 m = 6013262.582 m N 4380.119 m + 410,000m = 414380.119 m E 2. Scale Point 100 from the Ground down to the Grid using the CSF: 6013262.582 m * 0.9996899303 = 6011398.051 m 414380.119 m * 0.9996899303 = 414251.632 m Suggestions? Thank you

Query Resolved: I now have the script working. What ultimately worked was: record11 = 316003484 expression7 = ("MMSI = " + str(record11)) Removing the quotes from the variable was indeed what it took, but because I'm using the + symbol it kept balking until I made it a string (go figure). So the Select Attributes does work now in spite of the fact that my variable is a string that contains a number, or the fact that this variable is used to query the MMSI field that is a double data type...and because of this one small hurdle am now able to add it to the larger query: expression2 = ("DateTime_2 = '" + str(YearMonth) + "' and MMSI = " + str(record11)) printing each step YearMonth = 201901 record11 = 316003484 expression2 = DateTime_2 = '201901' and MMSI = 316003484 Selecting records in fc1 based on expression 11 Of 75 Records Selected I then tested this manually in ArcGIS Pro and I also end up with 11 of 75 records selected. This portion of the script will now be added to the main program where it will query AIS data once per month that contains approximately 10-20 million records, filtered to 10%, and then published to Portal where heat maps of vessel traffic can be created. Thanks for all of your help...the pointers I got here are all keepers and I will be reviewing all of this and doing a lot more reading :-).

Dan: OK...I will play around with this code and see what I can do (knowing this). The problem I believe I was having was trying to get the script to run without any quotes around the variable at all...but then ran into syntax issues. There must be examples of how to do this properly online somewhere.

Thanks again Dan: I have tried variations of your example using a variable, but I run into syntax errors every time...I still don't see how this works. Using "MMSI = '316003484'" works hard coded, but how should this look when using a variable? "MMSI = '(record11)'" will (obviously) just turn the variable into a literal. As mentioned above, my issue "might" be really about the data type. In the file geodatabase MMSI is a "double": However, I haven't seen any data type options in Python for this...only "int", "float" and "str". Why does a single quote work for the hard coded option then? All I'm trying to do is "Select Attributes"...I'm not trying to calculate anything, so I would think that this should not be an issue...is it? Is my alternative perhaps to change FME to convert that field into a string first (i.e. I don't know why it was originally coded to be a double as it's not really necessary - it's only an ID field)?
