Jacob, Check ArcGIS Desktop 10.5 system requirements—System Requirements | ArcGIS Desktop The above mentioned page will clear out all the basic system for Hardware and Software requirements. There is a link in the page which says "Check your computer's ability to run ArcMap" be sure to check that as well. I hope this helps. ~Shan

Mike, I assume that the login you use for the remote desktop connection are the same when you login to the same server physically? If in case you are not which is highly unlikely it might be a user profile issue. Irrespective of the above mentioned case can you try to create a separate test login and see if the issue persists in both the cases (i.e. physically logging in and remotely logging in) Regards, ~Shan

Keith, Does this issue replicate with a blank arcmap as well? Does it happen with all (new + old) mxd’s? Have you tried saving the mxd in a different location preferably a local drive where your user profile has full permissions? Have some colleague try the same from their user profile on your machine and see if the issue replicates? Did this issue occur prior 10.4.1? The layers that you are adding in the TOC, are they feature classes, shapefiles, excel standalone tables? Regards, ~S

Tyler, When you say you published my server maps to AGOL what do you mean, are you using map services with feature access in AGOL? If you are making edits from Collector App and ArcGIS Desktop, on the same data (service), Feature services include a Sync capability that allows clients to make edits locally and synchronize the edits with the feature service. Edits to the local copy can be made when offline, whereas network connectivity is required to synchronize. In order for the Sync capability to be enabled, the data in the service must be able to support Sync. However, if you want to enable Sync capability, and you need this layer in your service, you will need to configure your data for Sync. All layers must be either versioned and contain a Global ID field or all non versioned, archive enabled, and contain a Global ID field. If the layer participates in a relationship class or has attachments, the layer and related table or attachment must be related using a Global ID field as the primary key. Please refer Prepare data for offline use—Documentation (10.3 and 10.3.1) | ArcGIS for Server . I hope this helps. Regards, ~S

Brandon, Check the following to troubleshoot the issue: Are you using two screens? If yes, is ArcMap running on your primary screen or secondary screen. Check ArcGIS Desktop 10.5 system requirements—System Requirements | ArcGIS Desktop Does this happen with on a new map document or an existing map document? Check with a different user profile on your machine? Test the same on a different machine, see if the issue replicates. If all the above fails then try Resetting your ArcGIS application profile I hope this helps, Regards, ~S

Wilson, Geodatabase topology is a property of a feature dataset and you need to have Editor or Advanced license for ArcGIS desktop to create topology. If you do not wish a feature dataset you can create map topology which will be stored in the map document and not in the database. You can create a feature dataset and drag and drop the feature classes into the feature dataset. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that the feature dataset must have the exact same spatial reference as of the feature class that needs to be inside in. Please refer: An overview of working with feature datasets—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop Creating a feature dataset—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop Designing a geodatabase topology—Help | ArcGIS Desktop Creating a topology—Help | ArcGIS Desktop Geodatabase topology rules and topology error fixes—Help | ArcGIS Desktop Creating a map topology—Help | ArcGIS Desktop I hope this helps! You can share the map documents as a published map file aka .pmf You need to have Publisher Extension for Desktop. In this way you can share the data with Read Only capabilities. Once you have created the pmf file you need to install ArcReader on the machines where your colleagues need to open them. ArcReader has to be of the same version as ArcGIS Desktop which was used to create the pmf in the first place. Please refer How To: Create a PMF that can be opened in ArcMap ArcReader quick start guide—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop ~Shan

Please refer Can You Run It? ArcGIS Desktop 10.5 system requirements—System Requirements | ArcGIS Desktop Is ArcMap crashing on any specific task or does it crash randomly? Is it specific to a map document or does it occur with any map document? Try to run ArcMap with a different user profile on your machine and see if it crashes. I'd check all this before trying Resetting your ArcGIS application profile. Even Esri Technical Support will not directly recommend doing this for any issue directly. ~Shan

You can use ArcGIS Online Assistant to migrate the web maps & web apps only if personal non-organizational account as storing hosted services is not possible without an organizational accounts. You will be able to add the hosted services as an item which reference the original service. That being said if they site goes down or the original service is dropped your item, web maps & the web apps will stop working. However, you use AGOL Assistant if you want to migrate all the data to another Organizational account. Regards, ~Shan

Nicu, Whenever, we publish a service to ArcGIS Online it always creates a hosted map service as default and when we enable feature access it allows us to edit/update features. In your case if you want to edit the features on your desktop you need to enable or check the Sync capability as well. If you refer Publish hosted feature layers—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS it is mentioned. Enable Sync—This allows people to download maps containing the hosted feature layer, edit the data, and synchronize their changes back to the hosted feature layer. Generally, a map service or a hosted map service is basically used for query purposes whereas the Feature Service is for editing. If you want to edit the data online then Sync option is not required. However, if you want to edit data from the service by creating a local copy you need to enable Sync capability. I hope this helps. ~Shan
