Hello, I have been experiencing some weird behavior when generating reports from a custom template in Survey123. My survey has a repeat question for inspection photos with photo captions. In the report template, I pull those photos into a table. Here is the report syntax: Sometimes, the report generates fine and all photos are pulled into the report. However, sometimes I find that a particular photo is missing from the template. I new table row is created and the caption is printed for the photo, but the table cell for the photos is just blank. This seems to most frequently happen with the first photo/record of the repeat. I end up having to copy/paste that one photo into the report by accessing the record through the Survey123 web interface. I wish it was at least consistent, because then it would be easier to troubleshoot! But has anyone else experienced this behavior before? Any ideas what might be causing it to happen?

Hmmm, based on your screenshots, nothing really sticks out to me either. Would you be willing to share your XLS form and Report Template documents?

Would it work for the question to have a default value of 0?

You can get a dropdown menu using the autocomplete appearance with select_one or select_multiple question types. By default, these question types are text, but you can use the bind::esri:fieldType column of the XLS form to force it to be a number type and it should let you convert without losing existing data. Hope that helps!

Actually, looking again, it could also be because you need to have the word "selected" for both ${fca} parts of the statement.

Since you're combining "and" and "or" statements, seems like you'll need some parentheses in there to make it work properly. Right now the grouping isn't clear.

Thanks for sending over the report template - would you also be able to share your XLS form? It would just really help streamline the process for me being able to help out and look at things. Thanks!

For conditional syntax in reports, you could try something that looks like this: ${if weeds}${weeds}${/}${if weeds==''}'N/A'${/} If you could provide a copy of your report template that would also help in being able to help troubleshoot.

You don't have to re-upload. The beauty of working in ArcGIS Pro is that you can interact with hosted feature layers directly and edit them.

In case anyone stumbles on this post again, wanted to chime in - I was experiencing the same issue with triggers only working for certain views. What ended up working for me (after lots of research and frustration) was a very easy solution....simply delete the trigger and re-add it within EB.

If I'm understanding correctly, it sounds like this would be a perfect workflow for using the "Edit existing records through the inbox" functionality. https://doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/desktop/create-surveys/prepareforediting.htm

Hmmm, I'm not completely sure right away what might be causing the delay when searching for web apps specifically (since you say it performs normally when searching for web maps). However, wanted to let you know that my "normal" performance time is ~4-7 minutes when searching for web maps, and less than a minute when searching for web applications. My organization has 10,000+ items (~1600 web maps, ~350 web apps). I'll keep thinking about this and let you know if I can think of anything else that might be contributing to the issue. However, Josh Carlson is super knowledgeable and might be able to offer some more insight. 🙂 Good luck!

Hmmm, just a shot in the dark, but is it possible that clearing their browser cache would help? Also, could be a silly user-error thing, but are they definitely generating reports for features that were submitted after they updated the version of the survey so that those questions are filled out?
