Unfortunately erase duplicates isn't one of the free functions in ET Geowizards. I'm attempting to iterate through my dataset, selecting identical and deleting using model builder. It's not very intuative - had some strange results.... currently running attempt 3..... fingers crossed.

(I've removed duplicate points by doing a dissolve on XY coords.) Now I need to remove duplicate lines (by duplicate I mean identical geometry - they may have different attributes but I don't care which one I keep). I've used the Intersect tool to identify the duplicates but I don't know how to merge each duplicate into single records. I have 7000 duplicates so manual merging isn't a realistic option. I'm on standard licence.

I'm new to Arc not GIS and I can't seem to do what I think is a fairly basic operation. I have a polygon and many lines that intersect it. I want to remove the portions of lines that fall inside the polygon. How do I do this? I've tried using Clip in the editor tool bar but that only seems to work on polygon-polygon overlaps. I've tried using Clip(Analysis) but that removes the parts outside of the polygon.

Ok, the bit I'm looking at is called Item Description - I click on the bit of text under the tool name in Search. It has exactly the same content as the help but it says 'no limitations'. Thanks for your help. I wish I could see some logic in the way Arc is laid-out.

This is not true in the offline help - it says no limitations. I guess I should use online help. Thanks all.

When I try to run 'Merge Mosaic Dataset Items' I get a message saying "You do not have the necessary license" but when I view help it says "There are no useage limitations". Why?

I want to get another minor gripe about 2014 off my chest: Previously in 2012 if you hit generate it would generate according to the rule file as it stands. Now in 2014 it uses the last saved version of the rule file - so if you are testing rules there are lots additional tedious ctrl-s button presses, and lots of "why isn't this doing anything" followed by "oh flip, I forgot to save it" or "darn-it, I accidentally saved the scene instead of the rule file".

So it seems I can no longer have my projects set up as shown in my original post - it seems rule files must now be in the same project as any file they reference. So I have two choices: 1] I copy my library of facade images and my rule file into every project --- nope. 2] I move my aerial photos and DTMs, which are specific to each project, into my 'Libraries' folder --- ok, but seems illogical captain. Not a big problem for me to adapt to this, it means I'll no longer have wierd cross-references in my rule file so they'll be a bit easier to understand......but why can't we be free?

I've been using 2012 until now. When I open my scene in 2014 the aerial photo is still shown on my terrain but it is no longer projected onto the roofs of my buildings - my other building textures are still ok. He's an image that shows how I have my workspace set up - this works in 2012.

The 50%: rule looks at each polygon and streams a certain percentage in a certain direction. So if your building is made of 4 polygons (i.e. 4 walls) each one can go into a different stream. So you need to move the 50% rule to a point in your code where each building is only one polygon (i.e. just a building footprint).

If projection is to be the same you don't have to set for every texture, you can just set it once at the beginning: .... lot--> setupProjection(0,scope.xy,~7,~3,0) projectUV(0) Lot2 Lot2--> case buildingType == "class1": buildingTex1 case buildingType == "class2": buildingTex2 case buildingType == "class3": buildingTex3 ... buildingTex1--> texture("assets/texture/facade2/CRBuilding_1.jpg") .................... or if you can rename your texture something like "CRBuilding_class1.jpg" you could do this: ... lot--> setupProjection(0,scope.xy,~7,~3,0) texture("assets/texture/facade2/CRBuilding_"+buildingType+".jpg") projectUV(0) i.e. think about making your attributes and texture names work together:

I think you need to click the Show Models button. It's the one that looks like a black house at the top of your screen, near the middle.
