Hi Carma, Could you check the service's REST endpoint and see if the numeric fields that are not available have 1. coded domains associated with them, and 2. whether one of the fields is a subtype field? Generally speaking, Dashboard filters out all non-numeric fields and fields with domains or subtype associated with them, the rest of them should be available to use. For your second question, count is only for showing the number of all features based on your data source, and so it does not require the attribute fields. If you have a use case that needs to show feature count based on some attribute valuess, it would be great if you could share it with us. Thanks and please let me know if you have more questions, Tif

Hi Larry, A suggestion would be using a query widget and set up a query with 2 criteria, e.g. speed Equal 0 AND time_field Is within the last 10 minutes, or speed Equal 0 AND time_field Is after 3/20/2014. (please see the screenshot below for an example). You can also set up the above query in the layer filter map tool if you just want to turn some features on/off. In addition, you can define an additional data source based on that query by setting up a filter in the configure map window (as shown in the second screenshot below). That way, all widgets will be able to consume that data source. Please let me know if you have more questions, Tif

Hello Megan, When you click on the "Details..." button in the Cannot Start Application window, a text file will open with the details of the error. Could you please copy the text over here so we can get more information? Also, it would be helpful if you could let us know what OS version your machine is using, and whether .Net 4.5 or above has been installed in your machine. Thanks Tif

Hello Giedrius, One way you can feed the GPS information into Operations Dashboard is to use your GPS information as input for the GeoEvent Processor, and then output it as a Feature Service and then use it in your operation view (For more information about the GeoEvent Processor, please see this page and the ArcGIS Help.). When your feature service is ready, if you want the data to be displayed on a map widget in Dashboard, add the service to a webmap, then set a Refresh Interval for the service's layer (please follow the steps here to do so). When you load the webmap into a map widget, the refresh interval setting will be honored. If you have more than one layer with different refresh intervals, you can override their refresh settings with a single refresh interval (please see step 6 of this page in the Dashboard help). If on the other hand, you want the feature service to be added as an external data source (data that are used by an operation view but are not drawn on the map), you can follow the "External data sources" section on the page here. When done, click on the Widgets menu then click Refresh Settings to set a refresh interval for the external data source. Thanks Tif

Hi Jonathan, We are planning to add support for addins in the web Dashboard in the future release, but as of now, they won't be working yet, that was likely the reason why you ran into an error when opening the operation view with an addin. Thanks, Tif

Hi Tim, For gauge widget and other widgets that calculate statistics based on attribute values, data with coded domains will not be listed in the Value field. The reason for that is Dashboard displays these type of data using domain description instead of domain code. As a result, these data appears to be text field to operation view authors/users, and they cannot use such fields in gauge. Thanks Tif

Hello, Do you run into the same problem if you connect to arcgis.com from a web browser? Recently the Dashboard team has released an updated version of the application (build 10.2.0.411) which addresses an proxy related issue. If yours is an older version (You can check the application's build number from your machine's Control Panel, as shown below), it will be good if you can get the latest build from ArcGIS Online and re-try. A related blog post can be found here. Thanks and please let us know if that helps, Tif

Hi, If you want to display a webpage using Operations Dashboard, a custom widget will suit the purpose. To do that you can have a .Net WebBrowser object to open a webpage in your custom widget. Thanks Tif

Thanks for the information. Yes I was referring to the org's "Allow access to the organization through SSL only." setting. But if you have already turned the setting on while you published the service/map, it's likely your issue is different from the one I described previously. Could you please check a couple more places so we can get a better idea: 1. When you try to open the web map in Dashboard, are you prompted to sign in to access the service? 2. When opening the map, could you check Fiddler and see if any error is returned after the request to the feature service is issued? It could be something like a 403 error as shown below: 2 If you create a feature service and a map with SSL off, and when you open the map in Dashboard (keep the SSL setting off), do you still run into the same issue? 3. Are you able to add the service in question as an external data source using its url? Answers to the above questions should be helpful to the Support Analyst in tracking down the problem, meanwhile if you have other questions please let me know. Thanks Tif

Hi Debra, When you created the feature service and the webmap, was SSL on or off? I was trying to reproduce the issue using the following steps: 1. I created a feature service in AGOL and added it to a webmap when SSL was off 2. I then turned on SSL 3. I then started Dashboard, and added the webmap with the feature service to an op. view 4. I was first prompted to login, and when I signed in, it failed and I saw the message that you mentioned ("The following map layers could not be opened for the map 'MyWebMap': MyFeatureService"). When checking Fiddler, the error was caused by a 403 SSL Required exception. If that is the issue that you encountered, a possible workaround would be: 1. Open the webmap in the map viewer 2. Re-add the service using https:// 3. Save the map again. Then when you add the map to Dashboard again, the map should open fine. Please let me know if that helps or you have other questions, Tif

Hi Michael, For question #1, the Dashboard team is aware of it and we plan to fix it for the next release. For question #2, it's a valuable suggestion, but I am also wondering how you would expect the color ramp to render if a feature symbology has more than one color e.g. ? Thanks for your suggestions and I will bring them back to the team. Tif

Hi Rani, Yes, addins cannot be downloaded directly from ArcGIS Online. In order to you it you can sign in to your ArcGIS Online org. from Dashboard, enter edit mode of your operational view, then use the Manage Add-ins tool to look up for and add the addin. Please let me know if that helps, Tif

Hi Jason, Good to know that it works, but sorry I didn't make it clear in the last comment that the content under your 2.0 folder might also have other applications that are deployed by the ClickOnce technology. Therefore, please be careful when you clear the content under the folder, and try not to remove files that are not Operations Dashboard related. Thanks, Tif

Hi Jason, You can try to uninstall Operations Dashboard before you re-install it from arcgis.com (instead of re-installing the application directly on top of the existing one). If that was what you did and you still saw the problem, please delete the content under the C:\Users\<yourUserName>\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0 folder before you reinstall. There is a related post which you might find helpful: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/95714-Urgent....I-can-t-open-the-map-in-Operation-dashboard! Please let me know if that helps, Tif
